I agree. Casting what would be good for viewers is key. I didn't know that many people didn't watch the Real World who watch the challenges, they should have at least did a marathon of past seasons. That would be sweet.
And personally, it's really sad when the lame-o's try to use the reality show as a source of income. The more humble people, who go on to have FUN are awesome. I loved the old challenges were people would come to go on a vacation, get competitive and relax, instead of trying to train intensely, get mad if someone doesn't work out for one day, and act like it's a collegiate sport :/
A lot of people in these challenges do this too, but some people ruin the "fun" out of it...
All of this is fair and I agree with it
Yes, a lot of people still watch the challenges though that don't watch the Real World. All newbies are like Fresh Meat for me. I love seeing new people but there's just too many for those that don't watch the Real World to really get to know the newbies. I would have been thrilled if they just replaced St Thomas with a veteran team--I just need some more balance. Hell, even decent FM would have helped :)
[strike]i would of liked to see team denver this season with jenn, tyrie, davis and brooke! jajaja just to watch jenn with weak players and under the chopping block![/strike]

I am still kind of new here, but did it occur to any of you major challenge fans that MTV might be bringing in more rookies, because a lot of people who watch the real world, do not watch the challenge? Therefore, keeping you guys still as viewers, and gaining more as well?

Couldn't that have been done with just SD2 & NOLA? I thought I read the ratings for St Thomas were awful, no?
I'd be more concerned about losing long-time viewers than hoping others start watching.
Does anyone know if Jacoby? at ESPN did a podcast of the challenge yet? I always like listening to him.
His column will be up tomorrow. I believe a podcast will be up tomorrow also. At the end of a BS report last week (the one with Jimmy Kimmel) he made a cameo for about 5 minutes and they talked briefly about the challenge and how a reality TV podcast would be every other week on Fridays (with Half-baked ideas being the other Friday podcasts)

I find him hilarious. Insensitivity and all.
Hi, new here and this is my first post and I'm not sure if it's known but Cara Maria gave the real scoop about Team Sydney not being there. Apparently they were in Turkey but "something" was found in someone's bag which caused all of Team Sydney to be sent home! Here's the video, she talks about it around the 6:00 mark:

Thanks. That sucks, I was so excited to see Ashli and KellyAnne besides Trishelle they were the two I was most excited for. Hopefully they will return next time!
EDIT: After watching, I now understand why we are stuck with 4 reject FM2 (well 3 I like Brandon). No other team of 4 would/could get up and leave their lives last minute like that.

True but Evan said he never got a call and I doubt Kenny did either.

But going by that SD2 shouldn't have been casted because that season didn't do so hot in ratings either. I don't think it's wise to shut out certain casts because they got bad ratings.

I thought they weren't allowed on due to the whe Tonya legal situation or something. I could be completely wrong but I thought I heard that here.

And that's fine but the point still remains 3 teams without a single member doing a challenge before is going to alienate a part of the fan base.
Take out one of the 3
Or, in hindsight, NOLA should have been introduced earlier. It was poor planning from beginning to end

They are over - done for a while apparently. Why do I keep seeing "JKE" when we know it's only just J for now
Didn't Tonya's allegations come out before Rivals? I'm not saying Evan & Kenny aren't "banned" until this is resolved but Rivals was definitely well after The Ruins

Definitely not over. That trial is still alive and well.
The main prob with a fresh cast is they still didn't listen to what viewers wanted. Bronne, Andrew, Ashley L., Mike, NOLA, Jonna, Emily, Vegas (minus Naomi) are all the people I see being mentioned by viewer's for the new generation while old school vets like Coral etc are also wanted.
I do think a DC team would have really helped this season. Two people that had done challenges before (Ty & Emily) then 2 newbies. Sounds like they tried and failed to get DC though. It's all about balance IMO
Well I heard Ashley is the one that dropped out for DC, I'm a bit surprised that Callie couldn't have been a replacement, right after her show she was all about getting in there to do a challenge.

I only watched the reunion show but that entire cast seemed ready & willing to do one. Even the girl that left the house (Ericka?) said already had her "strategy". I realize things change but I find it hard to believe they couldn't get 4 DC people.

She probably could have been had she wanted to. There are people who aren't willing to drop everything in their lives to do a challenge. Hard to believe, I know.

From the Grantland article you posted in the episode thread: did TJ ever actually yell at Camila and Devyn? I seriously don't remember this happening, but they make it sound like it was a big deal in the article. Unless they are joking about that in it but it doesn't really seem like it. I'm just so confused haha.
Definitely not over. That trial is still alive and well.
My fault, I didn't clarify what I meant. I was referring to Kenny and Evan being "over" for now until it comes to a conclusion.
BMP can listen to the viewers all they want. At the end of the day, like molds posted, some people aren't gonna drop everything they do and come on a challenge. Bronne works for student city. Callie went back to school right after her season (don't know if she's done yet or not). Maybe the others just haven't been able to fit in their schedule.
I would love to see people like Theo V., Coral, Shane, The Miz, Genisis, etc. all back on a challenge but I know its a long shot. It is what it is, people are just gonna have to accept it and just be happy when they throw us bone here and there. And by that I mean throwing in random people that we haven't seen in forever and keeping the usual suspects off the challenge.

Who said it's hard to believe? I don't know her life or what she is up to, all I know is what came out the girl's mouth and that was that she was wanting to do a challenge badly.
Many of these people and other reality show contestants have full time jobs and they manage to get off work to do a show, so apparently it isn't that hard of a task.
