Which is why a lot of people already dislike this season
Rookies shouldn't have an easy path. The rookies aren't taking anything there--it's been handed to them. There are no real veterans other than Austin, Fresh Meat & Sarah
But you can't blame them for taking advantage of the situation. Yeah the producers messed things up (again, this season needed to be more balanced), but it is what it is. I would hope that the rookies would have done the same thing had there been so-called 'real' vets participating. There's nothing worse than people pretty much yielding the game to others without even trying to win.
It's funny people are hating on the season already. Everyone complains about JEK running EVERY show. Now they are taken out of the equation and guess what? Another group has stepped up. Don't hate the players hate the game. The game is designed to favor alliances and people who take on the role of leader.
Now hopefully the ratings pick up and they do another show. Why? Because this is setting up the challenge for the foreseeable future. What better way to reinvigorate the hated villains (Kenny, Evan Johnny) with the fans than to give us a new set of villains we hate even more?
The fans has grown to hate JEK. I too have grown very tired of seeing them run EVERY shoe they are on. But now... San Diego has come in, a season many didn't like in the first place, and they are starting to run things. Now fans are pining for the devil they know instead of this new one they cant stand.
If enough people watch, this sets up the next challenge to be huge as we can take the new kids on the block and have them go against the old guard. People will tune in and actually root for JEK to run these kids through the ringer.
I didn't like how things went down in todays challenge either. I also don't like how Frank and Zach are treating people. Other than that, I'm still excited about the season and I want to see where it goes. Who will oppose San Diego? Will Fresh Meat get it together? Will a leader emerge?
If there is one regret I have with the season so far is that I now do wish Wes was around just because he would be some opposition. Fresh Meat needs to hook up with St. Thomas and carve out their own alliance. I wonder what Alton will do. Either way, there is a lot to be discovered. I hope viewers give the show a chance.

I'm not blaming them. I'm blaming the producers.
The biggest problems for rookies is that they haven't been able to beat the veterans in the past. That very well could have been the case this year as well. Even SD2 needed this one handed to them. Cancun at least has some experience before their win.

Not everyone hates the players. JEK earned their leadership roles. It would have just been nice if someone stepped up and beat them at some point. Like Landon & Carley did on Fresh Meat 2.
The producers just did a poor job assembling the cast this time. Can't change that and unfortunately their ratings really aren't good enough to survive mistakes
And let's be honest, Battle of the Exes, Freshmeat II, and Rivals were all basically the same format, so it's nice to see something at least a little different
I don't really see how this is different from Exes format wise. The elimination selection format is exactly the same. Last place team + team chosen by the winning team. The only difference is that the teams start out as fours...they still go into elimination as twos.
I think that the Ruins, the Duel 1&2, and the Island were much more interesting at least in terms of format...they were more complicated but there was room for more strategy. Now it's just pick a side of the line to stand on and play out the game.

I agree. The Ruins was the one that needed the most strategy. The domination of the Champions was the only thing that ruined it.
I am thoroughly enjoying this season. I love Cancun, so it is nice to see them on top. What is missing though, is seeing Johnny Bananas, Tyler, Paula, Kenny, and all the other "vets" get their ***** handed to them. I think that would have made all of this "Rookie Takeover" stuff much more satisfying, rather than only seeing one team (Austin) made up of Vets. It was so awesome to see it happen to Coral during ... what was it, The Gauntlet 3? I can't remember the exact season, but she got so humiliated that she hasn't shown up for a challenge since. That's how it should happen; the old, sad Vets get overtaken by the newbies and get chased off of the show with their tails between their legs. I hated Coral, and I can't stand Johnny, so I hope the same sad fate befalls him eventually.
The difference being that the first few challenges Johnny, Kenny, Tyler and Paula did they were embarrassed. People on Duel 1 were afraid of Evan because of how he did on Fresh Meat but the other four were sent home immediately. Johnny didn't have any power til the Island which was his FOURTH challenge. He didn't walk onto the Duel thinking he deserved to run the show.
I agree with this. The JEK alliance earned their stripes to run the shows. This is Frank and all those other guys first or second show, none of them have even proven themselves in an elimination round yet. Anyways, on to the show. Tonight's challenge really puts an end to the debate of Zach and CT. Zach might be bigger but he doesn't have that crazy switch that CT has that gives him maniac strength. CT would have taken Dustin out easily. Zach had to use every cheap trick in the book just to go to a draw.

So True! Zach and Frank haven't proven themselves as competitors, yet their egos are as big as JEK.
Johnny was the first guy out in the Duel 1, nobody listened to him on Inferno 3, eliminated on Gauntlet 3 by his own friends and didn't win til his 4th challenge.
Kenny was one of the weaker teams on Fresh Meat, eliminated on Duel 1, and came across as weak on Inferno 3...he really didn't start to come into his own until Gauntlet 3.
Evan was a beast on Fresh Meat 1, which earned him respect, eliminated on Duel 1, and one of the leaders on Gauntlet 3 where he finally "earned his stripes"
Paula was eliminated early on Duel 1, fought for her spot on Inferno 3 and Gauntlet 3, she was screwed on the Island...and so on and so forth til she was on Rivals where she won her 1st challenge on the 8th try.
At least those 4 had earn their spots, and they were up against tough competition, like CT, Derrick, Abram, Theo, Brad, Timmy, Landon, MJ, Mark, Tonya, Evelyn, Laurel, Diem, Susie, Tori...etc
Frank and Zach can brag all they want but when you have people throwing missions for you to win, and your competitors aren't proven competitors either...what is there to brag about?
Paula was eliminated early on Duel 1, fought for her spot on Inferno 3 and Guantlet 3, she was screwd on the Island.
Paula was not screwed on the Island. She just played it up for the cameras. If she was really screwed on the Island, she wouldn't have immediately joined their alliance in future challenges.
Paula was not screwed on the Island. She just played it up for the cameras. If she was really screwed on the Island, she wouldn't have immediately joined their alliance in future challenges.
No matter how many people confirm this...cast members of either gender, mods on this site, you will never make headway in this argument with some people.

I wasn't trying to make an argument about the new kids needing to pay their dues. I was just correcting information.
I wasn't trying to make an argument about the new kids needing to pay their dues. I was just correcting information.
I'm aware. My point was that you can say "Paula wasn't screwed" until you're blue in the face, and as true as it is, people still won't hear it.

There are people who think Paula was screwed, even if they know she made a deal with Johnny, Kenny, and Derrick to let Evelyn on their boat? I just assumed people who thought Paula was screwed on The Island were unaware of the situation.

Sure seems that way. It's been hashed out here a number of times and people still don't get it...Paula was never on their original boat...it was Derrick, Kenny, Bananas, and Dunbar and Evelyn said that Paula was STANDING THERE when Kenny and Derrick made the deal to give her Dunbar's spot. If anything Dunbar got screwed...all they promised Paula was a key.

Paula assumed they'd screw over Evelyn in the end, so that's why she thought she had a spot.
I mean I at least feel a little sympathy, but not complete.
After watching Frank in episode 2, I wish Johnny was on this challenge to shut his ****** *** up. I don't really mind Johnny on challenges to begin with so I wish there was a Key West team on this show.
Fair enough
We'll see how things go moving forward.
It's a shame we didn't get to see Camila vs Jonna in the wrestling matches but we did get a chance to see Camila against Marie, who is 5"7 and definitely one of the bigger women on this challenge. I don't know if Jonna could do to Marie what Camila did.
This challenge just goes to show that you can't win when it comes to vevmo. Complain, complain, complain and then MTV gives you what you want and you still complain. It is what it is. Now on to the episode..
First of all..rookie revloution? LOLOLOLOL. If course its rookie revolution with you have worthless vets like Danny, Melinda, and Lacey (no offense to her). I'm hoping that he's like Wes, Evan, or Kenny and is in on the joke because he does know that he has no real competition. I mean lets be real. There is no CT, Evan, Johnny, Kenny, Brad, Abe..I mean I will even throw in Dunbar at this point.
If freshmeat was replaced with Evan, Kenny, Laurel, and Camila and Austin was replaced with
Sydney or even Key West (Tyler, Johnny, Paula, or Janelle) Frank would barely be on this show.
I have no problem with rookies winning and doing well but "Rookie Revolution" is a joke. Its basically an all rookie challenge and the most of the vets seemed to have already sold their souls to San Diego. Why, I have no clue.
I have no issue with the challenge but I wish there was another team of vets to balance this thing out. Like if there was a FM team that consisted of Kenny, Evan, Camila, and whoever I mentioned earlier I wouldn't care if they lost. I would just like to have them there to put people like Frank in his place. I didn't mind Frank but he lost me as soon as he said Rookie Revolution. I literally sat and stared at the TV for like five minutes. And then when he started picking on St. Thomas (And I don't care for them at all) he completely lost me.
Because there aren't any vets on this season that have a good political game. There isn't a Johnny, Kenny, Evan, or a Wes (that cared). You have Chet, Sarah, Danny, Melinda, Eric, Camila, Cara Maria, and Brandon who have not figured out how to play this game in all the challenges they have done. They are probably on the same playing field political wise as all these other rookies on this damn show.
All these dumb rookies on Cancun, San Diego, New Orleans, and Las Vegas, they're all so naive in thinking they will be able to get to the end with all of them. I hate every person on the Cancun and San Diego team. I can't wait for Kenny, Evan, and Johnny to come back and school them in the political game.

I think the reason is that BMP probably had enough of the same people being on the challenges and winning challenges over and over again so BMP probably decided to shake things up and cast more rookies than vets.

Um...none of them have a good political game. They were just lucky to have people around them that didn't play for themselves and were too scared/stupid/apathetic to go against them.
I can't believe that people are ACTUALLY wanting JEK and Wes to come back to these things. NOTHING and I mean NOTHING will EVER make me want to see those losers ever again on these shows. It's time for them go on with their lives. We can't expect them to keep doing these shows forever and ever and ever. It's funny to me that people who were so tired of JEK now want those idiots back...I admit San Diego are acting like ***** but hey I don't mind. Better than watching Johnny Banannas make it to the end and win for the Umpteenth time.
Paula assumed they'd screw over Evelyn in the end, so that's why she thought she had a spot.

I don't feel sorry for her *** at all..She got what she deserved.
On another note: Paula crying in one of the Treasure Chests was the ONLY time I was entertained by her.
Who wants JEK back? I want people like Coral, Tina, and other interesting vets back. Instead BMP is filling the challenge with people who brought in bad ratings like SD, ST, and FM2.
Who wants JEK back? I want people like Coral, Tina, and other interesting vets back. Instead BMP is filling the challenge with people who brought in bad ratings like SD, ST, and FM2.
Clearly the viewers want JEK back. Just being honest. I'd prefer Coral & many others but this cast is a disaster.

And sadly we'll never know because of the horrible set up. Yesterday would have been a great chance to see what these people were made of. We learned a lot about Dustin IMO. JD also seemed stronger than I remember though Knight's isn't exactly a beast.
My dislike for Frank keeps growing, God the guy is so obnoxious and self absorbed, can't believe some people want JEK to come back they are just like Frank. I was expecting more of Zach but he was like meh I thought he was about to smash Dustin but well, maybe he is just another big guy.

They aren't "just like Frank". They earned their status. They didn't just "claim it" because there was no one else around that had a clue.
Johnny vs. Frank will likely be the theme next time. I wouldn't mind the Gauntlet 4 with similar rules to the Gauntlet 3 because Frank & Johnny would be in the Gauntlet every time their team lost until they went home.
I don't see how the cast looks like a diaster. The challenges last night were a disaster, but people just want to complain and be negative. I am hopeful for this season. I think it has major potential based on the previews.
The reason why I've now come to miss guys like Johnny after wishing to see them gone for years is because of what they've done. Johnny's got an ego from doing well on a few shows. He always had an ego, but it grew by winning. Frank hasn't done ANYTHING and has a huge ego already. I mean the guy was getting all pissed at Camila during the mission for no reason other than because she was rooting against his team.
I don't think I've ever wanted someone to get their *** kicked on this show more than Frank so far this season.
Who is JEK exactly? But I agree with someone else's comment on some of the vets having good commentary. None of these rookies have the personality to entertain or give funny one liners. That's definitely a big part of it for me.
