So what do we think the odds are that Blais will go crazy if he doesn't win tonight? Poor guy needs a hug with all his Debbie Downer talk.
You will literally see blood vessels bursting on his forehead, lol. That said, if Mike wins I might boycott next season.
Even though Blais is the expected winner and would make the outcome a little boring, it would definitely be the "right" choice. Mike and Antonia are fine but it really should be Richard. Top Chef is definitely reaching the end for me. Even Tom seems like he is checked out and there wasn't enough Tony as guest for me. It seems like he was only in handful of episodes which is not cool when you promise me Bourdain on a weekly basis. Unless the next crop of chefs is very entertaining and talented, I'm not sure if I will tune in. It's gotten a little stale.
It seems like he was only in handful of episodes which is not cool when you promise me Bourdain on a weekly basis.
That was easily the biggest disappointment of the season for me. I'm a huge Bourdain fan and they really did give the impression that he would be there as a regular. Interestingly enough, he did give a shout out to Top Chef during Monday's Vienna show - something about people only knowing him as the ***hole judge on Top Chef. :D
I am rooting for Antonia. As for Bourdain, I think he is just a regular on the regular season with the new contestants isn't he?
Son of a...
:( So sad...
Gross... I don't want either to win. Richard, because it was obvious before the season started that he'd be in the finals. And Mike, because he's soooo obnoxious.

Richard has only been in the bottom once and Mike twice. Oh I guess they both deserve to be there, but I guess I would rather Richard win.
Team Mike now, or more appropriately, The Anybody But Richard Team.
So bummed Antonia was eliminated, ugh I don't care for any of the final two at all. I'm totally with you wwwwhat.
Richard, because it was obvious before the season started that he'd be in the finals.
We need to be against a great chef because it is obvious he is a great chef. What is with the producers of this reality show? Clearly they should have summarily eliminated all of the talented people so that we could have lots of lulz and drama in the finale. Someone that cooks great food with a track record of cooking great food in the finale? How dare they! Pre-dic-ta-ble!

In case you haven't noticed, Richard uses liquid nitrogen the way Marcel uses foam--every week he seemingly is pouring that stuff into something. I prefer classical techniques. For me, I don't care how "interesting" something is technique wise, flavors built up slowly through traditional cooking methods are always better than the fad/glitzy techniques. As far as a TV show goes, since we are not going to be tasting their dishes at home, then I don't think it is unreasonable to favor preparations that an average viewer could do at home and I have yet to find a grocery store that sells liquid nitrogen. It's that simple.
You paying? :D
Selectively, yes. :acute:
I like this twist on how they choose chefs to work with.
Mike is so screwed. He's got B chefs versus Richard's A chefs.
So glad Carla was picked. I hope to hear some hilarious comments throughout the episode. And Richard definitely has the step up over Mike and I'm okay with that.
Fabio has a blog and it's just as good as watching him on television :D Blog | Chef Fabio Viviani

HALLELUJAH!! Blais will not have to kill himself!
EHHH
I didn't want Richard to win, but I'm glad Mike didn't win. If that makes sense...

I wish the finale would have been a little better and a Richard vs. Antonia would have been way better.
WOW, Harold got FAT.
That aftershow was a mess. The highlight was definitely an apparent drunk Jenn screaming and breaking glasses behind the scenes haha.
The best chef won.
