I thought it was going to be Tre at first and then Mike toward the end (just because he was sure he was going.)
The only major cast on cast slight that jumped out during the cooking portion of the elimination round was Antonia bashing Tre's risotto and then the camera man zooming over on him just leaving his pan unattended on the stove...
Very weird quickfire. Just about all of them missed the point. The goal was not to make art, it was to make food that was visually appealing.
I thought the judge for the quickfire was a bit of a jerk. And I am sorry, Richard's quickfire looked rough to me. Not sure how many more times Mike can be on the bottom and not get his name called.
Well this is only Mike's second time in the bottom, so even though past performance is not supposed to matter, he still has had what could be considered a better season than Tre who has been very up and down.

Yeah I've never bought that past performance doesn't count stuff. The judges use whatever rationale they want to send whoever they want home. They will complain about people plating stuff that shouldn't be plated and then turn around and hold it against someone if they don't plate something that doesn't turn out right. I don't think Mike is that bad based upon what I see, but I also don't think Richard is the crown prince he is made out to be either.
I think Angelo and Tiffany aren't doing as well as they did last season. and I am so happy Marcel is gone. he really thinks he is better than everyone else.Him and his foam yuck it looks like spit.
I disagree about Angelo, he has been near the top in almost every challenge and even on his season he often struggled during the quickfire. I think I may need to check that though.
Actually forget what I said about Angelo and quickfires, he won four on his original season. My bad lol. Anyway, I still feel him and Dale have been the most impressive thus far; however that may be due this season featuring many Asian inspired challenges.
Angelo is a top dog and I like him - I just think he is not as impressive this season as he was on his own. He's still putting out great dishes, but he's in no way as dominating.
That said, I see still see an Angelo, Dale, Blaze finale.
I like Carla I think she 's done much better this season then on her own season.I would love to see her in the finale.
Wasn't she in the 3-way finals of her season?
Wasn't she in the 3-way finals of her season?
Yeah - her, Stefan, and Hosea. I do see his point cause in her season, she was middling for the longest time, but then really hit her stride in the Super Bowl challenge.
She had a terrible finale. Their sous chefs were from seasons past -- she was paired with Casey and ended up changing her plans based on some of Casey's recommendations. Not to say that isn't her fault - she has the final word - but I bet she learned a great lesson and I would love to see her in another finale.
NOOOOO! I need Fabio back in my life! Truthfully I would have sent Dale home for over salting instead of a meatloaf type burger.
How can you send home Fabio after giving us the gem of a booger burger? How?!
I love Fabio, but he was the weakest link in a field of amazing chefs.
If only he had this recipe and the tools on hand to complete the vision.
I have had two of the most amazing cheeseburgers EVER in the last couple of weeks. They were amazing.
This was one of them.

And yes I ate it all in one sitting (and felt like a complete ****** afterward, but ready to drink). Om nom nom nom nom.
A hamburger challenge would be the most dangerous one possible because everybody has an idea what a good hamburger is, and nobody knows what the heck good beef tongue is. I would rather be handed a chitterlings challenge than have to cook a hamburger for these judges. Glad to see Richard passed over. I like Tiffany well enough. On a side note, while I am without a photo, there is this local dive that makes the best hamburger EVER--pure grease. After you eat it, you will be bent over in pain for a few hours, but as soon as you can walk upright again, you will be ready to go get another. Hot Dogs are the same story. Great stoner food joint.
Alright. I have just settled in and have readied myself for Top Chef. The field has been thinned and it should be a real battle from this point forward.
I really enjoyed both the challenges they had on tonight's show, definitely want one of those cookies that Atonia made. And I really really really enjoy Target so it was great to see them having to run around in the middle of the night using anything they could fine. Another thing was that this episode really made me more hungry than normal after watching it. I actually went and made myself a grilled cheese, although didn't use an iron to cook it. I wasn't too happy with the elimination, but there isn't anyone left that I don't dislike. I think at this point I'm rooting for Antonia. She's definitely my favorite.
And I'm seriously excited to see Paula Deen on the next show. That woman cracks me up. Let's hope they don't forget to add the butter. I'm also excited to see Fabio once more <3
I absolutely loved this episode the quickfire challenge was cute. At this point I'm rooting for Antonia and Karla I hope both of them are in the finals. Sad to see Angelo bite the dust.
I'll be fair and say I was a bit disappointed that this far into the competition they are doing elimination challenges that should at most be quickfires...
My belief is that when the game advances to this point, we should see chefs cooking amazing food, not trying to prepare some crummy soup in a $12.99 plastic slow cooker on a shaky table at 3 O'clock the morning in a Target.
I understand that advertisers like Target pay the bills with their placements, but a task like this would have been much more appropriate in week 1 or 2.
What shocks me the most was that they were able to do anything at Target. To have so much stuff in it, that store is a bunch of nothing. They never have half the stuff I am looking for that they should carry.
Quickly falling apart...
Dale took a nose dive, just like Angelo the week before. Blaze is going to be tougher to get rid of...
I still think they are probably the best three chefs, just not in the context of this game being it is such a fickle beast. This week it was Top Caterer, rather than Top Chef and that looks to be what caused Dale to break down. That's just how it goes.
BTW: I really got a kick out of Mike "stealing" Richard's recipe and then winning. ;)
I'm not having any more favorites, first Angelo and then Dale lol. Even though Dale had been slipping lately; I just hate seeing chefs barely survive week to week and get to stay on the show.

In my opinion (which admittedly, is somewhat biased) I think that Richard and Antonia are head and shoulders better than any of the other chefs left. Mike has his moments, but Tiffany and Carla appear to barely be hanging on.

That is exactly how I feel. I really love Richard and Antonia, but I'd rather see Antonia win. Mike is meh, Carla is just there for hysterics at this point, and Tiffany really should have been gone a fews ago.
