I would've liked to see Ivory do atleast one challenge and Angel to do more. Definitely would've been more useful than Jasmine.

definitely don't understand what kind cultural relevance Road Rules planned to have in the current era but nothing was really lost if this doesn't get off the ground.

the world will always be cool to explore, ¿da fúq?

and they do that on plenty of travel shows and The Amazing Race so again who is asking for a Road Rules reboot besides Nostalgia based consumers??

if the only consumers are looking for a nostalgia itch then doesnt a Homecoming type of program make much more sense?

Regardless of whether the itch is based on nostalgia or not the show is innovative and relevant independent of the era in which it's presented in; it unequivocally has potential to spark interest. Besides, I could argue that if the shows you listed have been successful in today's age, why can't a show with a similar concept such as Road Rules prosper on a different network (mtv) or on a streaming service like paramount plus, which by the way, has largely built its database specifically with nostalgia as the main selling point? The show would bring nostalgic viewers in along with a new era of fans. Producers are dumb af

But ultimately who gives a shit tho, this ain't happening either way lmao I should've known it was too good to be true.

yeah it's not happening because no one wants it, so i didn't understand what we were arguing about. if any of the value you mentioned was real it would have been a show

You're arguing with yourself, I'm simply pointing out the show's potential while keeping the naysayers at bay

I wouldn't be surprised if another network or streaming platform eventually 'creates' a reality show with the same concept. It'll never be as iconic though~

they need to make road rules live with social media (tiktok, instagram, twitter) all factored in.

the road rules "live" season didn't have any of that but that's the direction that would work.

i'm sure you and the party of two that still cares about Road Rules will have fun with that. Refrain from responding to people with negativity and then pretending like you didn't initiate it. it's weird

No.

Road Rules could still work but they'd probably do something to ruin it.

Can someone tell me if road rules was really that popular? The only seasons I watched was some of x-treme and viewers revenge because I was young. I just always thought it was like the ugly stepsister and real world was always more popular and more talked about it also it had more longevity.

Would a reboot really be that successful I mean they tried it once didnt they would it really have that much success in this new era?

the only reason i could see it being somewhat successful is how the casuals eat up The Challenge being a sport and trying to make everything super extreme

figured if they take that basic formula and make the missions Road Rulers do be "extreme" and over the top in that sense it could possibly do well

compared to Real World - which i dont see doing well in today's environment at all (excluding homecoming from this), feel like people would just try to cancel anyone lol

it was always like you said the younger sister who was tryna find their identity- once ratings went too low for them they messed with the format to assimilate to those times and eventually became something else- however I think people who watched MTV during that time remember the show vaguely but wasn't popular enough for homecomings or reunions

The Real World was definitely the more popular show but the first season of Road Rules was great TV.  I think casting hurt them on some seasons but I'm not sure how Road Rules would work today.   The Real World doesn't work now because they completely abandoned what made it great.  I'm sure Road Rules would just be influencers and other idiots that add nothing of value.

that's the problem with casting nowadays, instead of choosing ordinary yet authentic and interesting people that go through an audition process, they cast 'influencers' and social media 'personalities' which most are either annoying or unoriginal af

Completely agree

agreed.  Also would have liked Kristen to have a shot at more than just one group battle at the end, I remember she seemed fun

When will they put Road Rules on Paramount+?

When will they put Road Rules on Paramount+?

when they actually take this announced project serious

So Paramount announced that they were reviving Road Rules but have not announced nor start production ?

Didn't PR say this is dead or on hold?

I haven't say anything about this

The ratings will go through the roof if they have road rules antarctica *giggles*

There were so many themes and regions the show could've explored

Yep. That's why I was so sad to see the show got canned when it did.

I will never not laugh about them lying about this for no reason at all
