i thought i was gone forever lol, i would have been entertaining commenting on all that final drama you have to admit. that was a LOT.

This is not happening at this point ****

They would have just ruined it anyway tbh.

they lied for what though **** ***** just lying cause they feel like it

No casting or announcements for this ****

Would've been road rules with just big brother ppl

Would've been road rules with just big brother ppl

honestly I would've taken that just so they kept their promise and I definitely would've taken that had they added all the seasons on Paramount

Why was Road Rules not as popular or successful as the Real World? Was the experience less relatable to viewers who were also probably lounging around in a couch like the Real Worlders? Producers giving up on the show seems like an ongoing theme for Road Rules. They gave up on the show after Xtreme, though methinks that feeling must'd already been brewing for many moons by the time they reached that decision. Probably since The Quest since that was when they introduced the voting off concept in hopes of making the show more interesting or controversial (I guess?). Viewers Revenge was 3-4 years after Xtreme and that was a disgrace of a season and should not even be mentioned tbh. They probably should've just stuck with the original Road Rules format like the Real World more-or-less did for many seasons, which perhaps granted it the longevity it had.

Yupp--you're last sentence is dead on.  The went away from the original theme with The Quest.  Although that gave us Katie Doyle so...it wasn't horrible.  South Pacific and Xtreme saw too many people leave.

yesss! I edited my post to add a few things and mentioned The Quest too. They were already doubting the show's worth by that season and it showed.

sucks because I enjoyed Road Rules more than the Real World. I'm still annoyed Paramount plus never added it

Same.  Road Rules was my favorite as well.

Road Rules <3

I also liked Road Rules more than Real World. Way Cooler show and I loved the different themes the show had each season.

I feel like Road Rules lost steam after Mary Ellis Bunim passed away. It was said that Road Rules was more of her show and John Murray was in charge of The Real World.

Road Rules <3

I'm still stuck they lied about this reboot **** Biggrin

lying just to lie i'm cryingggg

If this does happen, they will probably just cast influencers or pluck people who applied for CBS shows.

I actually would've preferred that type casting if it's good -- honestly anything for it to sell and work

So short history lesson:

They actually went away from the original theme with Maximum Velocity Tour.  Semester At Sea had really bad ratings, so they switched to the game show format with Maximum Velocity Tour.  The problem was, the only real stakes with the game show format for that season was "they get less money if they don't win."  So with The Quest, they added the twist of people getting sent home to make it more interesting.  But the show basically would have been dead had they not changed the format in the first place.

But the true death nail was just how BAD Viewer's Revenge was.  I still maintain it may very well be the WORST season of any of the BMP shows that were on MTV.  Even worse than The Island or Final Reckoning, and that's saying something.

I agree about Viewers Revenge it was terrible. Still wonder what other factors contributed to such low ratings for the show in general though, I wonder if it could've been something as small as the time slot it had? Or were people just not as invested with watching a group of people travel on an rv/ship? I can't imagine people actually finding RW more interesting than RR but I guess they did

As someone who never watched an episode of original RR seasons but did watch viewers revenge. I enjoyed it :). Just hated the bully vets that took over and won as usual

Viewers Revenge would’ve maybe been better had they started off with 6 new roadies and had the replacements be the RR alumni. They should’ve gone with a cast of Dan, David, Lamonte, Tori, Angel, and Ivory.

they could’ve had the viewers vote which alumni would be the next replacement instead

Angel & Ivory were the stars of Viewer's Revenge

Angel and Dan should have been challenge regulars

Angel and Dan should have been A challenge regular

angel had that ***** scared to show her face again and had her change her name too

the IMPACT

definitely don't understand what kind cultural relevance Road Rules planned to have in the current era but nothing was really lost if this doesn't get off the ground.
