They should just cancel it. It's ran it's course and is not like it used to be. The 30 minute episodes and a more dynamic cast is what they need and that's never happening again. I'm rewatching Las Vegas and it was such a great season and a geat cast. I feel like we haven't seen anything acceptable since Real World Sydney. I do love some cast members from Hollywood til St Thomas but overall it's been lackluster
I don't think so. I never watched the Real World until the Back to Las Vegas season, and it made me want to start watching the older seasons. Sure there's been a few boring seasons (although, let's not lie to ourselves, some of the older seasons were boring too), but there are some redeeming ones. You might have outgrown it, but there are new generations of kids that can benefit from shows like the Real World. Plus it would suck if the Challenge was cancelled.

Yes the B2LV season was amazing but I wouldn't use that as a determing factor if it should be cancelled or not. Sadly though there aren't a lot of options to watching older seasons. I still can't get over the episode where Jacinda said this: "You gave me more than ya numba" Classic ****.

How to deal with having a relationship with two people? Yeah not exactly good life lessons there. Btw just because they cancel RW doesn't mean they have to cancel the challenges. But really RW is no good anymore.

Obviously, MTV sees this too if they have already announced casting for season 29. The Challenges would have to be canceled also. As much as I love some of the vets, slowly and slowly they are declining. It's like production can't just keep having Fresh Meat 3,4,5,6 to feed people into Challenges, you know?
What could people possibly learn from RW now? How to party? How to deal with a hangover? How to deal with having a relationship with two people? Yeah not exactly good life lessons there.
I still think Real World throws in some life lessons every now and then. - Brandon's drugs issue on St.Thomas - Hurricane Frank coming to terms with his sexuality and going to counselling - Nany trying to find her father and bonding with her half siblings she never knew - Dustin coming to terms with his shameful past and dealing with the consequences of keeping a serious secret - Hollywood Joey's drug problems and the how that resulted - Ryan dealing with getting re-enlisted on the army on Brooklyn - Katelynn dealing with her transformation and showing us how it works - Sarah's father abuse storyline taught us about how important family is and how she lost that - Mike on DC coming out to his family - Emily dealing with Ty's aggressive behaviour towards her - The house realizing how dangerous and unsafe McKenzie's reckless drinking and drunk behaviour was There are still hard hitting topics throughout each season... may not be new, but not everyone watching has seen the old seasons. The Real World has become more physical drama/party crazy compared to old seasons yes, but that doesn't mean they still don't cast real people dealing with real issues that may be new to the viewer watching. They may not be good life lessons, but they are real life lessons... and people make serious mistakes. This show documents how they deal with their behaviour and issues and I still think the things they do and talk about are issues that are very current in our society. Not trying to get all caught up that this is some emotional real life drama thats inspirational... but it is entertaining, and throughout the crazy antics, there are lessons to be learned for the casts and maybe even the viewers.
I understand the complaints about how TRW has changed over the years, but I don't really see the big deal. I don't really know why people expect it to be the way it used to be, considering we live in a completely different era. It's been over 20 years since the Real World started. Times have changed. And while I can't say for sure as I'm only 23 myself, but I imagine people in their 20s now are different from people who were in their 20s in the early 90s. Quite frankly, while most of the premise of "The Real World" isn't exactly "reality" (the mansion, cameras, insanely attractive people, etc.), the drunken antics may actually be one of the most accurate portrayals of the majority of people in their early 20s. And as others have said, it still does tackle issues in between all that. At least the cast members on RW are still real, genuine people (for the most part) as opposed to real life cartoons like on Jersey Shore and other reality shows.

Mitch, add this one
Anastassia's eating disorder
I caught up on some seasons, but except for the first Las Vegas and Vegas Reunited, I haven't seen anything before Philly... That might also be why I'm not tired of the franchise yet.
Eric Nies of RW1 in New York said it best: "Ever since our season, everyone has known what to expect. We were just given a key and an address and told to show up."
Meh, every season after season one has topped it in big and unexpected moments that haven't been shown on TV at the time. I wonder during which season did Rwers started to lose their "celebrity" status? Was it it Austin?
thats not true
Sure? I've heard it from a couple of **good** sources.

After that it was just...mehh. kind of picked back up with NOLA 2.0 AND Vegas 2.0 but then evaporated again.
Sure? I've heard it from a couple of **good** sources.
I think they may have Anastasia and Jessica confused.
I think San Diego 1 was the last season were the cast became somewhat famous.
Casting calls will be announced next week for season 29. I guess I'll start a thread soon.
Meh, every season after season one has topped it in big and unexpected moments that haven't been shown on TV at the time.
I agree. Season one wasn't even good. And I didn't like the cinematography season 1 and season 2 had by the way. Things got better once San Fran rolled in.
I think San Diego 1 was the last season were the cast became somewhat famous.
Maybe Philadelphia. Karamo is "famous" among the black gay community.
Almost a year since this was posted and I am still waiting.
Well it seems that The Real World will be going overseas for The Real World: Mumbai! Before you get all excited (or disappointed), this is NOT season 28. MTVindia is now launching their own version of the show after their success of Roadies (their version of Road Rules). http://http://mtv.in.com/realworld/ I think that this will be very interesting. It's nice to see that the franchise is expanding and curious to see how well it does. Though they seem to be taking a different approach than the US version and focus more on fame and glamour, whereas the US version is more about diverse individuals with interesting storylines (or so they try to).

LMAO.
lol right.
I was just thinking. Key West is the only season out of all 28, where there was not even a single hint of a possible in house relationship. Never mind a hookup, which most season have had.
I was just thinking. Key West is the only season out of all 28, where there was not even a single hint of a possible in house relationship. Never mind a hookup, which most season have had.
Brooklyn?
I was just thinking. Key West is the only season out of all 28, where there was not even a single hint of a possible in house relationship.
Brooklyn?
Devyn & Scott Ryan & Baya
Who hooked up or had an in-house relationship on RW2 LA? Or RW Boston or RW Seattle?
LA: Tami & David (Pretty sure there was an attraction at first) and Jon was besotted with Irene Boston: Montana & Sean Seattle: Nathan & Irene There all pretty weak, but the were points in the seasons where the producers made it seem as though there was a good chance they'd be getting together
Devyn & Scott Ryan & Baya
I think you missed Chet with himself...
Who hooked up or had an in-house relationship on RW2 LA? Or RW Boston or RW Seattle?
There were no relationships on LA 1. Irene was getting married. Tami was seeing somebody outside of the house and Jon was Jon. Aaron is still disgusting though. They actually respected their boundaries then. Boston nobody as well as Seattle. People fail to realize the show wasn't just *** then.
If it's in Atlanta you know they will definetly have gay guys.
