I have to give The Ruins an honorable mention. If it weren't for all the Evan then I may have actually had it in my top. It had so much good drama and a really great cast!!!

[strike]i dont understand why people sit around and ***** about a tv show, and demand it be cancelled and not even want to watch it. its like, dont watch it. and while your at it, if you dont care enough about it that you are calling for it to be cancelled, then stop going over to your computer to post things about on a website meant for people to have fun posting about one of their favorite shows. if you dont like it, cool. can the rest of us have fun with our favorite show?[/strike] I don't understand why people sit around and complain about a TV show then demand it to be cancelled when they don't even want to watch. Fine, don't watch it then if you don't like where the show is going. While you are at it, stop going over to your computer to post on a website forum that is meant for people to have fun talking about their favorite shows. If you don't like it, cool but can the rest of us enjoy our favorite shows?
I thought it was supposed to be a challenge? If it isn't testing you physically/ mentality then pretty much they failed at the creation of the challenge. Remember that these were designed to be done for people who actually were in physical shape before you do a challenge they do ask your capibilities and if you can't do it then maybe they should skip the challenge setting.
The challenge is basically about marrying the RW and RR shows together to see past cast members interact and compete. Trying to cause injury to the cast or make them break isn't what makes a challenge a challenge. Maybe they aren't trying to do that, but some of the exiles seem to take it too far. As I said before, you can have physical missions and eliminations that aren't super strenuous, yet still are a good test and entertaining. And they have done this in the past. I don't think most people want them to only do easy challenges (myself included). It is not an all or nothing thing. Just think they could lessen up on the harshness of some of the missions. Since when do they design these challenges with the fitness of the cast in mind? There are obviously varying degrees of physical capabilities among the casts. And there have been missions that almost no one has succeeded at before. Does that mean almost the whole cast shouldn't compete? This isn't the Olympics. Klounsnax, I understand what you are saying, but I also understand the other side. I think for the other side, it's tough to see a show you've loved and felt invested in go on such a departure from how great it really was. Add in the ratings, bad reviews, and number of years the show has been running, and it makes it easy for people to say that such and such show should be canceled because it's not getting better. I've had a couple of shows that I watched that really became very different and were missing the mark of what it was supposed to be at the core. I ended up quitting them eventually, but but when there was talk of the shows ratings going down and the shows possibly not being renewed, I thought they might as well have been canceled. With the challenges, even though I am old school, I do think they could go on for a number of years with the new generation of watchers. I think there is still an entertainment factor there that could continue with a little work. But I understand the old school watchers who realize the show most likely will not be what it once was ever again (and therefore think it should end soon). They still watch because they've been invested in the show and some of the competitors that still show up. After a while, they will move on.

[strike]i see what your saying, but its like, yea the show has changed, but with that change, so has the audience. it would not be fair to cancel a show that so many people love now, just because the original viewers think that the show is stupid now. i liked the old stuff, but i like the new stuff better. thats not to say that i think that the old shows should be wiped off the face of the earth. if you dont like the show, dont watch, because the new viewers will.[/strike] I see what you're saying, but it's like, yeah the show has changed, but with that change, so has the audience. It's not just people on here who think the show is bad.
That's not true at all. The reason the ratings changed were because mtv has done a much worse job of getting more people invested. I know when I started watching the challenges I was like 13 and watched them by accidnet because they would re run back to back to back episodes in the afternooon after school. They don't advertise at all anymore. They have all of these afternoon shows that are awful. They shouldn't be running show until 6 o clock. If you look at like imdb.com or other boards wehre people aren't die hard fans it's totally different they all love it like we all loved it when it first started. But a lot of people don't appreciate change like with any show. It's a whole new group of people. Like Saved by the Bell the new class people thought was significantly worse but it still went on for a bunch of seasons so something must have been right about it. Mtv needs to do a significantly better job in advertising for this show.
I think the reason, IMO, that the older challenges were better is because the cast didn't go over the top with their personalities every episode like they do now. I mean yea, Coral was a real ***** all the time, which I loved. But I feel like Coral is always a *****, probably in real life too and she acted on show the same way she would act in real life. Most of the cast argued on the older challenges but their arguments weren't as stupid as the ones now. I feel as if the cast on the most recent challenges feel that if they get into an argument, they must yell and scream and go over the top to make themselves look good for tv, when in actuality, it makes the look stupid and doesn't entertain me as much. For example with Fresh Meat 2. I don't feel that the argument between Jenn and Mandi should have been that extreme. I honestly don't feel Jenn is this crazy outside of the challenges. I do like her and she seems like an awsome person but I just feel she tries to hard to be that ****** like Coral or Tina. I just think the cast acts more fake now then they use to. I might be wrong but this is just my opinion. This is why I feel they need to really work on their casting with the real world and stuff because I want people who are real and not just acting like feisty *****es. It really doesn't entertain me when they get really drunk and argue about the dumbest ****. I'll tune into the Jersey Shore for that =]
Challengers heading to the Ruins, did someone from Vevmo take this? just wondering.
Yes, that was from our spy at the airport.
the challenge has gone downhill because the best people stopped doing it... it was pure gold from Battle of the seasons up until the inferno II... the core group then is a lot better than the core group they have now.
Yes, that was from our spy at the airport.
Any way to "TAG" them ? I can only recognize a few of them.

My Favorite male Vets: 1. Abram- Road Rules South Pacific 2. Mike"The Miz"- Real World Back 2 New York 3. Shane- Road Rules Campus Crawl 4. Adam- Road Rules The Quest 5. Theo- Road Rules Maximum Velocity Tour
Golly I miss the Miz a lot. I'm glad he's moved on with better things in his life, but he was always fun to watch on the challenges. Same with Veronica and Coral and all of the people who did challenges in those days. What a great time to be a kid...
I miss the challenges that had the old school cast.
I miss the challenges that had the old school cast.
it's the dawn of a new day! bahahahahahaha
I consider the first 10 seasons pure gold and it was all about fun and just being around other castmembers. Now people go on the RW for the challenges, plus they continue to cast snoozefests. Like, why invite someone who was absent for their whole season? Also most castmembers know what they're getting themselves into with these new challenges. It's a social game now, not really a challenge. If you aren't scared of heights, can solve a puzzle, and can make friends, you will suceed in newer challenges instead of being an overall competitor. I feel Wes, Landon, Ev, Evan and Cohutta are like the only overall competitors in the new generation.

Say what you will about The older challenge vets but they were entertaining and brought something to the show wether it be drama or just plain fun. But now these things are way to serious. It just seems way to much like survivor now.
The actual fun seems to have left ... part of it may be that they are no longer allowed to go out and sample the nightlife in whatever city they are close to.
The actual fun seems to have left ... part of it may be that they are no longer allowed to go out and sample the nightlife in whatever city they are close to.
Yeah I've noticed that they don't go out into the city like they used too. Didn't Katelynn say they couldn't do it anymore?
Yeah I've noticed that they don't go out into the city like they used too. Didn't Katelynn say they couldn't do it anymore?
I believe it started with TJ Lavin becoming the new host. Part of the problem, for a while anyway, was castmembers being accosted in public and rather than pay for a bodyguard(s), they just stopped letting them out anymore.
So basically they stoped leting them go out because some of the cast kept acting like Idiots out in the public streets.
The cast were not acting like idiots. People on the street were chasing them down in public, sometimes with intent to harm, and instead of footing the bill for bodyguards when they left the house, MTV opted instead to keep them in the house the entire time.

They went out on the Ruins a couple of times.
From what I remember, they get saturdays off.
Yeah I'm not too fond of the cast being isolated. Some of my favorite events from previous challenges would be Landon and Derricks wrestling match out in the streets of Manzanillo, or Mark Long freaking out on that bus during G2. At some point I realized that for the last couple seasons, my favorite episode of the challenges is usually the **** they Should have Shown episode. I really feel as though when you watch that episode you get a different feel for the challenge and how the cast was getting along. The Ruins in particular seems a lot less drama filled, and the cast seems more likable as a result. I think a big part of them resurrecting the challenges appeal would be to show more of the cast having fun during the challenges, since as it stands now it's mostly just politics, drama, backstabbing, and grueling events.
