it's weird a lot of people recommend Battle of the Sexes 1 but why? what was so OMG about that season. Enlighten Me Please
It had a lot of memorable moments and one of the best casts, in my opinion.
Lots of drama around Puck like usual. His fight with David to start things off, his constant bickering with Ellen, his wedding during the show and his eventual trashing of the house when his wife and son were not allowed to leave the island.
Emily and James were also a big source of drama and good competition. Emily disliked Veronica because it was rumored she had slept with James while he was dating Emily. They were also disliked as a couple for enforcing their religious beliefs on others and being generally sneaky like Emily being behind getting Rachel voted off.
Melissa and Julie's fight.
Also, there was a good mix of physical, mental and fun challenges. There was also a voting off process which some people prefer to a Ruins type elimination and it provided some good drama.
I think those are some of the main reasons people favor this Challenge
BOTS1 was a great challenge IMO. The girls had a lot of drama, and that's mainly the reason I thought it was great. The guys, besides Puck and David, were kind of boring. I also loved the old school cast and getting to see old cast mates. It's the only "old school" challenge that I've been able to watch, and I really liked it.

Honestly I have no idea. I've watched it twice, which is probably the least for any challenge season aside from the first four which I never saw.
The women on that season were so useless and horrible to watch. They basically picked off any decent player early on (Julie, Veronica, Rachel) and then the ones that were left begin quitting at the end.
I think a lot of people that praise the early challenges, grew up watching the Real World and Road Rules, so those challenges are really the only ones that will feature people like Puck, Eric, Emily, Mark, Genesis, David and Dan.
I liked BOTSeasons, but BOTSexes1 was downright awful to watch.

I knew it! Wes, Kenny, and Evan love each other! :D Was this part of the tour? Or has that not even started yet?

Yeah, they were in Buffalo this weekend and on Friday they had a booze cruise thing and I think yesterday and today they were at a music festival.

as Flo (BGC4) said they probably make more money together than they do apart.

Wow! I've never really seen anyone dislike BOTS1 so much. I'm not going to fight you on it, but I'm a little surprised.
I think the reason I liked it so much was because it was the first challenge I watched. If you watched MTV, you couldn't really avoid it. The played it every single day and I got hooked. I like it because there was a good mix of real life drama and competition drama. I actually liked the underdogs (Ruthie, Lori, Genesis) and the cast was very likable. Looking back at it, the cast wasn't THAT great. Most of the people were from recent seasons of RW/RR or had done a previous challenge. However, I think I like the Gauntlet 1 and Inferno 1 more than this challenge.
I think the reason you liked the Island is the same reason I liked the Inferno 3. In a lot of the recent challenges, we've known the cast months in advance and expected a lot out of them (like the Duel 2, the Ruins). Well, I feel that this cast was pretty weak, and we didn't expect much from them. I ended up really liking Cara and Susie and was rooting for them the whole time. I really liked Kenny and Paula and all the new kids making a name for themselves. However, I can see why a lot of people didn't like this challenge.
I completely disagree with you about the Island. I really didn't like it much due to the fact that there were less challenges. I'm glad that some people liked it though.
I don't think the Island was as terrible as everyone says it is...why does everyone think it's the worst challenge ever? I thought Gauntlet 3 was way worse than the Island.
For me, it just was boring. They didn't have missions/challenges and it just was basically people sitting around *****ing for the first half hour until they had their face offs. It would have been better as a half hour rather than an hour.
My favorite challenge would probably be the original Gauntlet. It was my first challenge and I really enjoyed the missions they did.

Agreed. There was just way too much "filler" time. The challenge episodes should be half an hour long, or if they're going to be an hour, there should be 2 "missions" (a challenge and an elimination challenge) per episode like most of the seasons since they've switched to the hour format.
I like the drama, but 45 minutes an episode of that was terrible. I watch the Challenge to see the challenges!
I think the original Inferno and the original Gauntlet are my two favorite seasons, Battle of the Seasons is up there too. And I think the Duel format has the potential to be the best one.
i would say that the top 5 challenges ever would have to be:
(btw, i have not seen anything before g1, so dont kill me if extreme challenge or rr all stars isnt on here, please. ha)
Number 5: The Duel 2
Number 4: The Gauntlet 2
Number 3: The Duel
Number 2: The Gauntlet III
And the best challenge (so far) has to go to none other than, THE ISLAND! HAHA JK,
The Gauntlet 1 was the best television show i have ever seen.
Does anyone else remember the ads for the Inferno1? I remember they had 5 or 6 different ones and they were just random clips from the show. I remember them having Syrus in the chicken suit and CT in a binkini. Anyone remember any other ones?
And does anyone remember what season had the ads that were like a comic book? I'm pretty sure it was either the Inferno 1 or 2.

I remember the ads for the Inferno 1. They were so exciting back then.

It was Inferno 2 "Burn baby Burn" lol

One was of Veronica and Katie yelling at each other. There was another one with Coral giving the famous "She'll go home in gurney, and I'll go home in handcuffs!" and I don't remember any others.
My top 5 challenges:
5. The Inferno II
4. The Inferno 1
3. Battle of the Sexes 1
2. Battle of the Seasons
1. The Gauntlet 1
Challenge of 2000 barely missed the list. Gosh, the challenges used to be SO good!
People liked the Battle of the Sexes because they didn't just sit around and scheme 24/7. I have only seen one episode of Fresh Meat 2, but all it consisted of was Evelyn talking about being strategic and just constantly plotting, and Jenn almost hitting a fresh meat girl because she called her a *****, which is just really boring. Challenges like the Battle of the Seasons and Battle of the Sexes brought cast members who enjoyed being in each other's company, and were there mainly to have fun, not to sever relationships.
These challenges were initially created to bring cast members back to compete with each other, have a good time, and maybe come home with a few prizes. Now, it seems that productions just wants to get people drunk enough to hit each other, and ***** at each other. Yes, I like watching drama occasionally on these shows, but it was much more interesting when the cast members were actually intelligent, and had legitimate arguments. Road Rules vs. Holly and Chadwick was fun to watch because the argument wasn't fueled by alcohol, it was caused by people having different views of how the game should be played.
It isn't just the cast that is bad on these recent challenges, it's also the missions which have become so repetitive and skewed, and the way production edits the episodes. It doesn't look real anymore, and once any tv show loses that aspect, scripted or not, it loses my interest. Thats why i believe the challenge and the real world should be cancelled, they aren't real anymore, and the only connection to Fresh Meat 2 and the Battle of the Seasons is the title, and the same production company, thats it. Its a different show, and it should just be axed.
Nadav, I agree with everything you just said. These shows aren't fun anymore. I haven't watched FM2 since CJ went home because honestly... I'm just sick of seeing the same people win every time.
I'm hoping that with this new challenge having a good variety of new kids on it that we will finally get a new batch of challengers.

Pretty much hit the nail on the head there.

Hello Lamb you are my new best friend lol
My favorite ones:
1) Inferno 2
2) Gauntlet 3
3) The Duel
4) Inferno
5) Battle of the Seasons
Same ones as you salt&vinegar...lol...just in a different order :)
Hello Lamb you are my new best friend lol
Well thanks...
And I think the spring challenge will be a nice change of pace casting wise. I remember thinking that about the Gauntlet 2 though and I didn't enjoy that season at all.

I have high hopes that I will love it.
I haven't seen that many, but here's mine:
1. Battle of the Sexes 1
2. Duel 2
3. Duel 1
4. Fresh Meat 1
5. The Ruins
Duel 2 and BOTS1 are probably interchangeable.
