Is that a necklace tattoo I see?
That man looks way to old for her
Is that a necklace tattoo I see?
Looks like it. That guy is...not what I would have pictured for Kina's boyfriend, and I must say, a step down in the looks department. But if she's happy, good for her.
Thanks for the article V1. Greatly appreciated. It was a nice, explanatory read. As for Kina, that man does look a lot older than her, but as long as she is doing good I guess.
From the spoiler thread:
edit; this is kind of a question for everybody (and sorry this isnt part of spoilers) but has there been an elimination that was considered "dangerous"? I've seen every challenge but my mind is in other places right now so I can't think of any, and when you said balance plays a factor, it got me thinking of the challenge on the Inferno 3 where partners had to twist and untwist themselves on the beam above the canyon type pit. All of the Duels were "tame", as were most of the Infernos and Gauntlets...at least that I can remember haha
I don't know about eliminations, but according to the recaps cast members have written of challenges, people frequently get hurt in missions. People got frostbite from both the first mission in the gauntlet and the ice mission in BOTS1--Lori claims people literally had pieces of their butts falling off--and Sarah from Road Rules Campus Crawl claimed that she had nerve damage from hanging upside down so long against Irulan and that other cast members had nerve damage from hanging onto whiffle balls in another challenge. As I think we've seen on the show, the people who test the challenges don't always correctly estimate the difficulty and/or how long some people will continue them for.
There was a mission that was so dangerous it didn't make it on the show that they talked about during the RW/RR Challenge Uncensored show. It was a human catapult. The testers ended up with casts, crutches, and I think one person really hurt their hip badly as well. So they decided not to do it. Eliminations? I think the ones in which people are forced to have some kind of fight or battle with each other for some kind of object can be dangerous. Abram and Brad were going crazy during that inferno they did in I2 - I think it was called jump ball or something like that. They had to get a certain number of balls into the huge vase looking thing. It got really brutal and I was uncomfortable watching it. The one elimination I remember in particular that was really dangerous was the one in I3 in which Abram and Timmy had to smash themselves out of the glass box. Timmy's knees got hurt really badly - streaming with blood and it was said his knees weren't the same after.
what's the name of the theme song from The Gauntlet 2?

He is screwed.
Timmy sustained life-long injuries from that event and he is responsible for all his medical bills because of his contract. He is screwed.
That hardly seems fair.
That hardly seems fair.
He signed the contract. I don't know if he sought representation. He didn't use Vision 1.
Still, it would have been nice if BMP/MTV would have paid for his medical bills anyway, since he was a major veteran who did a lot for the shows between his season of RR and the challenges he's done. If someone gets injured during a challenge and is not yet eliminated, does BMP/MTV pay for the medical bills then? I sure hope so.

The are contract workers, not BMP employees. In most any other work place, contract workers must provide their own health care coverage. Not very many cast members can afford it.
OK, thanks. I wish it were different, but as you said, they did sign a contract. I could imagine that a lot of cast members couldn't afford health insurance, since a lot of them don't have steady jobs (but instead sporadic speaking/clubbing engagements and such), therefore they don't get insurance through their employer, and some have to use their cash to pay for school, etc. Timmy was not hosting any TV shows at the time, was he? I know during two previous challenges he was hosting TV shows, but I don't know what his job was during I3. That makes me think about how they used to do introductory or catching up scenes with the cast members during past challenges. I kind of miss that, especially since you first saw everyone getting to know each other as well. But the landscape is kind of different now since most of the people have done engagements with each other and live in the same city, etc.
what's the name of the theme song from The Gauntlet 2?
It's called "Anthem" by Superchick

I know you just said immediate stabilizing care, but does that include Evan's Hernia and Coral's leg injuries from fresh meat since BMP made that leave the challenge to get those resolved? And Melinda's head injury on the G3?
Random Question. I know you just said immediate stabilizing care, but does that include Evan's Hernia and Coral's leg injuries from fresh meat since BMP made that leave the challenge to get those resolved?
I'm sure that Coral and Evan were responsible for all their own bills once it was determined that they could no longer compete. I'm thinking they'll cover your hospital visit if you get injured while on a challenge, but any subsequent care for what might be a long-term injury is on the cast member. I think it puts the cast in a very difficult position, because they sometimes have to weigh competing in a game to stay in a competition that they have already devoted weeks to and taken time out of their lives and away from their loved ones to try to win, and the possible long-term consequences if something goes wrong and they sustain an injury, which clearly is not an infrequent occurrence. I'm sure there are lots of injuries, a la Sarah's nerve damage, that we never hear about as viewers.
Another competition that provided multiple injuries was the one in the mud with the big balls on the first Gauntlet. BMP didn't find it necessary to clear the mud of jagged rocks so half the cast got really injured and I believe Tonya's torn meniscus and Elka's knee from that were pretty much the direct reasons their team voted them off
Did not read this entire thread, so sorry if someone already stated this, but you can download utorrent and then search online for torrents of almost all of the challenges. I started watching with The Duel, and then I have intently watched the recent ones. I then went back and watched all of them except for the first 2 or 3 and found them all using (mininova.com). Personally, I really enjoyed the first battle of the sexes, but i personally enjoy the athletic aspect more than the drama.

Anybody know why the inferno 2 & 3 never had a real reunion show? How come they had the "top ten moments of the inferno" instead of a real reunion?
Because they were running out of time I heard , that and MTV started to have too many other shows like they now on the schdule that is.

I meant to add "but don't quote me on that." Maybe V1 could answer.

I liked I1 the best but overall I hate the iNferno series.

On the island, rachel and tonya were friends and seemed to really care for each other. But on the previous challenge that they were on (inferno 2) they couldn't stand each other. What happened??? when i watched "the island" i was pretty confused and before it aired, expected them to fight. I know that they were friends way back in "battle of the sexes 1" though.
