He does seem like he'll be an interesting guy to watch. His videos definitely piqued my interest in his perspective on the state of things Iraq & his experiences there--it'll be interesting to see if he & his castmates exchange any opinions on that topic. OK I'm just curious because I noticed that in both Ryan's and JD's Myspace page, their heights are both listed as 5'8", however when I watch the pilot ep., JD seemed shorter than him. Do you all think JD is lying about his height? Either that or Ryan is putting himself down and really is taller than 5'8"... What do you all think? Somebody make a Height thread lol

The white lines establish the baseline based on the bookcase in the background and the averaged alignment of chairs. The yellow lines establish the offset angle to the point of origin (the camera). Assuming that both Ryan and JD are standing equally straight (JD's head is slightly bent forward), then the offset angle demonstrates they are approximately of equal height. Can we now lock away any suggestion of lying about height? It seems a little insidious. I met them. My recollection is that both were shorter than my 5'10 1/2" height by a couple of inches and I might be little shorter than Chet. This image confirms my recollection.

Though I admire him for being in the services, I kind of wish he wouldn't go back after seeing him on the show. He was obviously somewhat affected by what he saw in combat based on the previews for this week (it would be hard not to be affected to some degree). Also, he's gone through hearing about/seeing some of his friends go through terrible things. But if he can handle it, great for him and I wish him the best and pray he'll be OK. He doesn't necessarily have to be going back to Iraq. Don't know anything about that yet.

Going AWOL and being labeled a deserter is not in his character.

Doesn't he suffer from PTSD..or something? Based on the previews doesn't he freak out on this weeks show from J.D. shooting shaving cream on his bed cause he thinks it sounds like bombs going off in Iraq or something?

No one but him knows what he saw and went through over there. If it bothers him, it bothers him. I don't think PTSD or any after-effects of being in a war is anything to question or take lightly.

What does the voice on the other end of the phone say in the upcoming previews? Also, what does Ryan say at the end when he is sitting down? I have seen the ad 50 times and I can never understand what they are saying. Thanks!

But it was something like, "he shot himself in the head." I couldn't really understand what Ryan was saying at the end of the preview either.

At the end he said "Welcome to my ****** life." :(

I know of very few veterans of any conflict who do not have similar experiences. I've lost friends/members of my unit in 6 different conflicts since 1968.
