A member of my family has been in the Army since he was 18. He's 24 years old. He was in Korea for 2 years.. and he's been to Iraq twice. It's amazing what these men and women go through at such a young age.

I think things like that are not ours to speculate or judge. No one but him knows what he saw and went through over there. If it bothers him, it bothers him. I don't think PTSD or any after-effects of being in a war is anything to question or take lightly.
I guess somehow my post was misunderstood.
I didn't say he has PTSD. I also was not taking anything about it lightly at all. I was just referring to him hearing that noise from that prank JD pulled, and I thought it obviously reminded him of the war (based on what was said just during the preview), and even when he found out it was a prank, he was still agitated. Plus he talked about seeing his friends go through some stuff and I would think that had to be somewhat bothersome to him. I think it would be to anyone. From all of those things I've seen from the previews and the show, the war and the aftermath of it has had some affect on his life. I'm not saying he is majorly affected, that he has PTSD or anything like that. I was just saying that as a human, most people who goes some kind of tragedy or through seeing things happen to their friends, or goes through seeing something like death or warfare - well, it would have some play on the emotions, whether it was just a few minutes or for a very long time. I'm not diagnosing nor am I judging for something like that bothering anyone. I'm not against him being mad at JD's prank, either.
And I am concerned about him because I am a viewer of the show and we've gotten to know a little about him, though I don't personally know him. I was just surprised to he was going into training again, and I am concerned for him as a person I know a little about. I'd be concerned for anyone I knew who was going into the army and going to Iraq. I do think it is admirable that he is willing to go back after all he's gone through and seen from his first experience.

What I wrote was:
I don't think he is post-army. I've heard he is headed to Ft Jackson, SC for training.
I choose my words very carefully. When I wrote "I've heard," it means that I put it above the rumor category given the source, but it is not something that I'm aware that Ryan has confirmed. I had hoped to see Ryan in LA 9 days ago to ask him, but I missed him by a few minutes.
Here's another great article about Ryan!

Another great article that shows what a great person Ryan truly is.

You know, I agree. He may come off as a joker/immature sometimes, and he was a little blunt in his convo w/ Katelynne, but I think he's a genuinely good guy.
And darned if I don't respect the hell out of anyone who has served this country. I feel like in a lot of ways I understand him-he reminds me of someone I know quite well in that aspect.
This didn't seem appropriate to put in the other threads about Ryan. I'm a huge fan of Rich from fourfour.typepad.com. And I decided to share his mp3s and gifs of Ryan. I think they're hilarious.
Some users on the Dailies site said that Ryan and Belle broke up? Totally unconfirmed, but that's the rumor, apparently?
Baya confirmed that some time ago here at Vevmo. If I recall correctly, it was in an earlier episode discussion thread.

Must have missed it. Thanks!
I found this post which seems to capture some of the draw of Ryan.

Not sure I like the sound of the word kavorka, but he does have it. That boyish charm that excuses other negative quirks he may have.

I thought it was notable that even though Ryan isn't necessarily a physical stud like Scott and he sometimes says things about girls that aren't nice, a lot of girls seem to be crazy for him. The kavorka word came to mind to describe the situation. Also, it always helps to have a catchy title.
Is that his channel really?
I made a Baya and Ryan video and he commented. That's nice of him.
That is very nice, do you have a link to the video you made?
Aw...that was nice TJ :)
I can't help it. He is up there as one of my favorite cast members ever.
I also like this line, I think its really pretty, "My life is the gift, I give it to you."
