Hell yeah CT, Wes and Leroy possibly being on the same team? Goodnight San Diego.
I'm a little disappointed that we probably will never see Laurel again. In my opinion she was the most attractive female and most athletic female in challenge history.
I'm glad to see Cooke stepping up to do her first challenge. We also have Heather back so I can't wait for her and Frank to argue. I can't wait for the Johnny and Frank drama. But in all honesty I cannot wait tos ee CT destroy either Frank, Zach, or BOTH.
This is going to be an awesome challenge. Rooks VS Vets? This might be better than Duel 1.
no.
There have been a number of challenges where some of the cast knew of the format in advance. With Exes, I believe they all knew. While I have no personal knowledge of the way they learned of the format, I've heard that someone in casting or a member of the crew had informed a cast member. Where a pre-show alliance might be important to production, informing a certain few cast members would be useful in creating a good alliance for TV. If any cast member knew the format this time, it appears to have been kept very quiet.
I thought I heard somewhere that Diem was told it was a different concept so she would accept and then when she got there she found out CT was her partner? This was probably just a rumor though.

Okay, first there was the use of the word "fora" and now this!;)
Lausanne FTW! Studied there for my masters.
Poor Jasmine. So sad her father passed away. I hope her and Jonna are fine. I love the Cancun girls.
Oh and I meant to comment on the casting of Cooke. I suspect she will make quite a splash with her athletic ability and ability to get other females upset.
That's messed up if another castmember just invented that rumor because it gets around so much people really do believe it. That would be the person with the crazy wife you're referring to, right? He started acting weird towards Cara Maria too all due to drama with his wife.
I remember there being talk on the podcasts that you were crazy on Cutthroat. Do you know what they are talking about because obviously nothing made it to air that was odd? Could it have had something to do with your anxiety issues? I remember you have them on your season because I have them myself. In fact watching the re airing of that episode with Brynn on Vegas that dealt with her anxiety, I related so much. And I don't have cameras everywhere around me like you ladies.
I wasn't there long enough to be crazy. I did get a little paranoid & I was semi annoyed Derek voted me in, but I mostly kept that to myself? I stayed out of the drama.
To further add to my previous post the reason we will not see a lot of the FM2 cast ever again is because while a lot of them were great cool people, realistically they were not good tv. You can't even remember half of them and most of them brought no story or drama to the limelight. Imagine one of the extremely forgettable newbies randomly coming back now. Noone would know them, they would have no story, they would just be there.
Look at the Fresh Meat programs as more of an audition for the challenges, rather than an actual challenge. In the long run of things that's what it really is. In the end the whole purpose of it is to find a few new "jems" to add to the show's roster.
Edit: I know this was a bit off topic, but I was responding to another comment within the thread. I am speaking about how Fresh Meat alums affect this challenge and any future potential challenges so I hope you'll let me cheat :)

And see that's the thing that bothers me the most with them....In addition to not even being real castmembers they add NOTHING to the show...What was the point of them even bringing them on?
And see that's the thing that bothers me the most with them....In addition to not even being real castmembers they add NOTHING to the show...What was the point of them even bringing them on?
The whole point is to hope you can find a couple really great NEW reality tv stars. When the cast starts getting stale and they are desperate for a new exciting face they do a Fresh Meat challenge. If they do an entire Fresh Meat and 3/4 of the cast are forgettable nobodies but they get 3 or 4 good new additions to the show it was worth it in BMP's eyes. Even if that means the fan base has to suffer for a bit.
Think of it this way: Even though it sucks we wouldn't have favorites like Ev and Diem if they didn't do it. And JEK would just be J (I'm not a supporter but they make up a demographic for the show, or did at least). It's easier for them to find stars for the challenges within a challenge itself rather than a Real World season. As we've all seen great Real World characters can often times not translate very well on to the challenges.
My theory would put teams as:

What criteria did you use to make the teams?
Can anyone confirm or deny Devyn and Easy's relationship status? I'm just assuming (I don't follow Twitter) that they are broken up. The girl can do so much better for herself than that.
I know this has been answered, but if you want additional detail...
When she was asked about their relationship, she said that they're not even on speaking terms.
Also since this was her first challenge, she assumed that people acted differently in the house than outside of the house.
The example she used was that if someone drank in the house, she told herself "maybe it's just because it's a challenge". But when she got out, she found out that their behavior in the house was indicative, sometimes identical, to how they behaved irl.
Take that as you may.
We were all surprised to see that Rivals and Battle of the Exes were both paired challenges and were back to back. I'm thinking that this next challenge will also be 8 teams of 4 people. That or 4 teams of 8 people. I haven't studied the cast enough to put them into teams. But the more and more I read this thread of how, it isn't Rooks vs. Vets, its not Old vs. New, it's too big for a Duel and/or Cutthroat, and they can't do a Champs vs. Challengers. It has to be something new.
I would love a format like Battle of the Seasons 2 or Cutthroat (something different from 2 huge teams or pairs), but I doubt that BMP would deviate from their vanilla formats twice in a row.
The cast isn't too big for Cutthroat... The reason why I don't see Cutthroat as an option is because 32 isn't a multiple of 3.
If you look back on FM1 most of the newbies on that cast were either one hit wonders (Aviv???) or maybe did one more challenge and disappeared. They only made a few select Fresh Meat regulars on the show (Easy, Kenny, Evan, Ev, and Diem). Since the filming of FM2 we can see them following a similar pattern with only having a select few become regulars on the challenge (Cara Maria to name one off the top of my head).
I wouldn't get my hopes up on a lot of the cast members that have not made a second appearance since FM2, we probably aren't going to see most of them ever again :(. My boy Noor!!! :(
Well, I'd say with FM1 (and even FM2), it was either "one-challenge wonder" or pretty consistent challenger. All of the ones who did return after FM1 made several more appearances. Kenny, Evan, Evelyn, Diem, Ryan, Eric, and Casey have all appeared on at least 4 challenges.
My Guess for the format this season is a Cutthroat style 4 team challenge because there isn't a even amount of Rookie vs Veterans, if they want to do a Inferno Good Guys vs Bad Guys it'll be too confusing making up teams, and there are way to many people to be a Duel 3. Well if they split them up into teams of 8 and have a Cutthroat style draft to make the teams that's the only way this cast makes sense in my opinion.

What about the Ruins format with 4 teams? Instead of Champions vs Challenges it's men vs men, and women vs women. Idk how they'd break up the teams that way but then it can be ruins with a twist? On top of that the men will finally worry about themselves instead of the women, I can see that working but how can they break up the teams up 8? Does Champions/Challengers work then? I'll try and figure that out
Edit just to be clearer:
Mens1 faces Mens2 and Womens1 faces Womens2 in the daily challenge then men face men and women face women in the elim

that wouldnt be bad at all. maybe they can do gauntlet 3 style where opposing team can save a person from going into elimination and the team has to decide who goes in.

Cutthroat would work better than Ruins. That's a cool idea though.
I always wondered would if they would make teams and break off into singles or vice versa mid season. Or If they were to switch teams. That would really throw off alliances.
I think this one really could be a mix of formats, it'd be great if men and women weren't together too. How many more times do we need to watch the girls get abused? It was kinda funny the first time with trim the fat and CT, but now every challenge is about cutting the girls. Maybe the guys needing to step up will be good
Yay! This thread is no longer closed. Are we allowed to discuss the format here?
No. This thread does not say "The Challenge: Thailand 2013 - Format Speculation".
The format, which has already been confirmed, can be discussed in the speculation thread.
A simple no would have worked just fine. Some people would like to be able to discuss the format without elimination spoilers so it was a fair question to ask if that could be discussed here.

Agreed, I don't think discussing the format would spoil the eliminations.

Usually, attempts to have non-spoiler discussions about challenges do not work.
You can try the generic thread...but don't be mad if someone blows it.
This is the thread to discuss the cast and the cast only.

I don't know how things could be spoiled in a format thread. It seems pretty simple to speculate and figure out the pairings without discussing who is eliminated.
We already know its rivals and everything that could possibly be discussed about it has been and multiple times. Why does everything need to be repeated?

If you know the format, what is there to discuss that doesn't include spoilers? If you want to make things up, there is a fantasy thread. Most other things can be posted in the generic thread. If you want to speculate, there is a thread for that as well.
Closing thread...again.
Since some people demand confirmation from me...the pairings.
