Not that I think you're wrong, but are "so many people" really mad about last night's episode? Do you just mean on vevmo/the internet fans? I only ask because everybody I know (more casual fans) has been loving this season so far (despite the fact that everybody hates Frank). Now I know I'm talking about a teeny teeny tiny group of people, but still have there been a ton of complaints about this episode outside of the episode thread? I'm not on Twitter so I can't gauge how people felt on there, but just curious.
I agree. For the most part it's just Vevmo people who are complaining about this season that I see, but I haven't looked very hard. So if the whole Vevmo crowd stopped watching that would only count for maybe a couple of hundred viewers lost not enough to really count for a big drop.

People complain about every challenge. If you don't like it don't watch it or post about it.
People complain about every challenge. If you don't like it don't watch it or post about it.
If they cast better there would be less complaints. People want to see the show succeed--that's the reason for the complaints. BMP isn't doing a good job of making sure this show continues.

It's a bad cast because you don't like it? Yes, I think some choices were bad/odd but I like the fresh cast. For the first time in a long time the outcome will be somewhat unpredictable. The only disappointment (besides Frank) was I was REALLY excited for Ashli and KellyAnne, then we got the worst possible FM team. I also don't get why they scrapped the Road Rules. Anyway, I am hopeful things will get better. Trishelle gets some airtime next week so that's exciting!!!!
It's very funny how people flip. I was excited about the show when I saw the fresh cast and I am still excited. No, I don't like Frank having all the power but this is episode two. We will see how this plays out. Things always get interesting as time goes on. I'm hopeful for the rest of the season as I enjoyed the first episode and I didn't find the second one terrible. I hope the alliances break up eventually and people start playing for real. Want more Cutthroat like situations where teams battled it out. I'm happy that ratings went up but I don't think the Bi Brother stuff had a major affect. You just can't assume that a vast number of big brother viewers are also challenge fans and vice versa. People simply didn't tune in. Judging by the post here and ratings, I am thinking people do prefer to see JEK and company as opposed to new people as well.

I agree. We have seen two episodes. First one was an introduction episode to the cast, now a bad start. Episode 2 was good besides the TERRIBLE challenges. I can't wait to see next episode since I love Trishelle and despise Sarah, I can't wait for that little confrontation.
These ratings are not that bad... people seem to forget that total viewers don't matter at all. Other airings on Wednesday got the same or around the same 18-49 demo rating as the Challenge did, but had their total viewership up in the 1.9-2 million range. Other airings had a demo rating that was LOWER than the Challenge, and had far more total viewers than the Challenge did. It ranked 8th for the night overall. Granted, the 18-49 demo isn't even MTV's target audience... but it's the only information that we have available to us via the amazing TVbythenumbers. Frankly, I like this season and thought the episode was good (minus the challenge, but I didn't think it was THAT bad). It's quite comedic how people now decide to flip and say the cast is terrible (yadda yadda yadda) because the ratings didn't meet their explosive expectations after 95% of this board were flipping out in excitement over BMP's fresh casting for this season. Oh, well.
Honestly I'm quite happy with this cast overall....I mean yeah San Diego seem to be running the show but like others have said this is only the second episode so that can change (and it should if any of these people are smart).
People complain about every challenge. If you don't like it don't watch it or post about it.
Amen!
Teeny jump, but not enough to blame on BB...and absolutely blasted by Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. THE CHALLENGE - 1.225 0.8 A 18-49
Before everyone hangs themselves, go look at the ratings threads for The Ruins, Fresh Meat II, and Cut Throat. We saw 0.6s and total viewers under a million. Remember that this is one of the higher rated shows on MTV, especially with no more episodes planned for Jersey Shore and Teem Mom 1. While it would never ever surprise me to see the show cancelled, if only due to its sheer age as a franchise on a network that reinvents itself biennially, 0.8s have gotten the program renewed before. MTV only had one half hour all week that did better (Thursday at 10:30, Awkward).
I know I'm out of the loop here but can someone explain to me WTF "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" is ? Better yet, don't bother...I'm sure it's not worth explaining and I don't give a flip what it is now that I think about it...I mean, it sounds like a show for kids or the mentally impaired...
it sounds like a show for kids or the mentally impaired
Actually, it's more of a show about those things...

Better yet, don't bother...I'm sure it's not worth explaining and I don't give a flip what it is now that I think about...sounds like a show for kids or the mentally impaired...
If you ever want to see a television network making fun of people...watch "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo". Seriously, it seems like TLC is just making fun of rednecks. Think of what you imagine a "redneck" to be. Multiply it by 10. That is "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo". It stars 6-year-old Alana, who was previously featured on "Toddlers and Tiaras". Her mother, June, has three other daughters (all with different men, all of whom have criminal records) and now, at 32, has a grandchild (with 11 fingers). June likes to give Alana "go go juice" before pageants. "Go go juice" is a mixture of Red Bull and Mountain Dew. They live in Georgia. The majority of the episode is subtitled. Her children have actual names, but go by the nicknames "Chickadee" (Anna, 17), Chubbs (Jessica, 15), Pumpkin (Lauren, 12), Smoochie (Alana, 6). Alana's father is known as "Sugar Bear". In the opening credits, we are shown Alana waving with her entire family behind her. Then someone *****.
And before anyone asks - yes, I am ashamed that I know that much about "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo".

My thoughts after seeing the ratings for the first two episodes... Game Over Man, GAME OVER! - YouTube
So if the whole Vevmo crowd stopped watching that would only count for maybe a couple of hundred viewers lost not enough to really count for a big drop.
That would never ever happen. Every year people ***** and moan about how the challenges suck now and EVERY year they continue to watch and post incessantly about it. A lot of the time it's the people that hate the show the most that post the most about it. lol

I'm not sure if anyone on this forum has a Nielsen box so it honestly doesn't matter if all of the members here stop watching unless they have boxes.
How do you get a nielson box? Does it come with TV's? LOL. LMAO @ Molds knowing that much about honey boo boo.
Thanks. YIKES and people actually watched that stuff. And I get ribbed for watching the Challenges...smh
I don't see why. The Challenges are actually reliable and good.

Have a heart.
The mentally impaired is unnecessary though. Have a heart.
Oh it's necessary...a show that's named "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" is obviously for somebody with an IQ below 50 and after hearing how ridiculous/moronic the show is, I can't be wrong.
It's more intelligent than listening to Republicans speak :)
It's more intelligent than listening to Republicans speak :)
Hahahahahaha good call on this one!
Actually, I think this past week was the season finale of Honey Boo Boo, right? Maybe that's a good sign.
Ratings for these things ususally don't go up much. Best we could hope or right now is probably a 1.0 at some point during the season. This we will be in the .6-.8 range all season
They've got the last half hour of the first debate this Wednesday so I'd say this week is pretty screwed too

Pretty sure The Challenge and The Debate don't draw the same demographics.
