when she got her VIP pass, they were already doing the open casting calls because you take the pass to the closest open call near your city and they basicly put you in a differnt line then the other people.
So then, for example, if I were to send a tape or email in today, I shouldn't expect to hear anything (assuming that I will at all) until shortly before the casting calls start?

i would assume so cuz they already started filming the RW24 ...but i know someone that already got an interview with them. His interview was last saturday that i can remember so i dont know. Hopefully they start posting the open casting calls soon.

Did your friend send in a tape or an email? I've only heard of people who sent in tapes getting an interview before casting calls were posted.

I was just wondering, because I thought I read that someone already got a VIP pass from an email, but it seems kind of weird that they would send it without even posting where and when it is.

I dont know exactly what he sent in but ill ask and get back at you. But i can see what your talking about when you said that it seems kind of weird that they would send it without even posting where and when it is. But like i said ill ask and write it here.
ok so i asked my friend and they said that they sent in a web video or something like that early last year and then waited in line for 6 hours at on open casting call for an interview and they called him about 2 weeks ago for an interview so idk.
side note: would it be wierd if you sent in a email then 2 weeks ater sent in a video and when they announce open casting go to them lol.
I was talking to a friend who said that she went to the casting call last year. She said a few people there had sent in tapes and emails and did not get a VIP pass but still went to the casting call anyways.
From what she said, it seems like at the casting call they try to just pick out the most extreme and best looking people. They don't start looking at your personality until after that. At least that's what she said.

thats kind of screwed up if that was true about picking the most extreme and best looking... how do they know if someone is extreme. andwondr when they start looking at your personality...after they take you aout of line or when

We've confirmed from several people that they were looking for extreme big personalities -- very intense individuals.

They don't just look at you. You get an interview with eight people. They are looking for people that have had crazy events happen in their life or have extremely opinionated yet different outlook on life. Additionally, if you havn't noticed, almost every person that has been on real world is at least decent looking.
So, it seems like for the first couple of rounds they are weeding out people that do not fit this criteria. It makes sense considering that, to the show, that criteria is more important than personality.
So, if you want to have a chance to make it past the first round, make sure you let the interviewers know the things that stand out most about you. You're going to have to market yourself if you want to make it past the first two rounds.
Quick ? are casting directors meant to be intimidating? I imagine everyone who auditions for the real world or any other reality show like that would be nervous as hell, especcially if you really wanted to be on the show. So are casting directors nice and friendly or mean and when they get you to talk about yourself they try to act like they don't care and that there not listening.

they are extremely nice and pleasant. They want everyone to feel comfortable.
If you make it further in the process, they make you feel like you're one of their friends. They do this to get more information out of you.
does anyone know when that video was produced...was it produced last year? i know it was copyrighted last year but when was it made cuz it was talking about casting calls and i havent seen or heard if they were having casting calls yet.
also quick ?- i think ZILLY said that you interview with 8 people....do u mean that they take 8 people at a time and interview them all at once or do they do separate interview. or do they do separate after the first round.
They interview you in a group of eight people. It's actually a very smart idea because it's easy to find out who is socially awkward in a group of new people.
With a little bit of preparing, you should be able to pass the interview if you market yourself correctly. From what my friend told me, it seems the main purpose of this interview is to see how comfortable you are around people you don't know.
Does anyone have some first hand experience they would like to share? That's just what I've got from my friend.

Yes -- it's a group of 8. You share a little about yourself while the CD reads over a short Bio sheet you feel out. Then they engage the group is questions. If you don't get additional paperwork at the end of the meeting then you're not moving forward.
Please read the other posts dedicated to this topic. There is lots of info in the Casting Secrets Revealed thread.

third ?- how do u market yourself per se. also when they engage the group in questions...is this when you tell them some crazy events happenng in your life or have extremely different opinions then others.

Check it there -- read through every page...and you won't have any more questions.
There's no way to market yourself. If it doesn't happen for you naturally then you won't make it very far in the casting process as only 8 in 18,000 make it onto the show.

Yes, it's at your own expense.
Chill out. Go to a casting call. If you make it past Round 1...then come back and we'll talk later.
I really cant stand people who are or were on the show, that keep saying that they got on the show on accident....getting on a show doesnt happen like that unless is americas next top model..other than that NO.... but on other note...i think they will start posting things next month is my opinion on the casting calls and things.

How is everything but America's Next Top Model accidental?
Some people actually do go into casting calls with no intentions of getting on the show.

see the way i see it...i was watching an episode of ANTM and they actually went up to some girl and asked if she wanted to be ont the show....in the real world i feel like if you went to a casting call just to try out with no intension of getting on then why would you go.... they went tried out and got on the show that wasnt entirely accidental...they new that they were trying out for. thats what i think...you might have a different opinion but that the way i see it.

Brooke from the Denver season did not go to a casting call or send in a tape. She had no intention on ever auditioning. She was recruited via MySpace when a casting director stumbled upon her page an sent her an email asking her to come and audition.
Emily from D.C. was at work at starbucks when an open casting call for the show was going on down the street. One of the casting directors came in to buy a drink and saw Emily and asked her to come in and audition.
There's many other people who were dragged along to casting calls with friends who wanted to audition but they instead ended up making it on the shows. (i.e. Brianna- Hollywood, Aviv- Fresh Meat)
