Real World 25 - Casting
18,000 people audition - 8 will make it to the infamous Real World house. Will it be you? Since RW24 casting has wrapped, and RW25 casting is in motion, anyone planning on auditioning? ;-)
Where will auditioning take place?
Open casting calls will be posted within the next few weeks and if they are looking for something specific they will likely send their Casting Directors out to do interviews to announce that. RW25 is rumored to be a more serious season like 23 and 21. We'll just have to wait and see.
I think i heard they're stopping Real Worlds at 26 or atleast that's where the contract goes for MTV. But MTV will renew that contract. I bet.
26 is where the contract is ending. To me I hope they renew it but their is a chance that it could not happen. I think that if this season D.C. and the next season end in a disaster style with ratings and Jersey Shore beats it in ratings by almost double then it could get replaced with a show similar to that. (though this isn't likely)

I have a question....do they have open calls in like 10 cities like survivor does or is there more places for open calls. I really want to audition and get on.

thanks for the info. Hopefully they tell us something soon.
I really wish they would be the open casting calls to Puerto Rico!.....
I really wish they would be the open casting calls to Puerto Rico!.....
Well, you don't have to go to a casting call. You can always just make a tape and send it in. I personally think the casting calls are overrated. You can probably put a whole lot more of yourself into 5 minutes than waiting in line for however long at an open call to talk for 2 minutes or so.
I know...but isn't it better to attent an open casting call?.....making a tape as a first impression can be hard, you never really know what to do or say......
I know...but isn't it better to attent an open casting call?.....making a tape as a first impression can be hard, you never really know what to do or say......
Well if you don't know what to do or say, why would you think they'd want you to be on the show in the first place? They want someone who can be themselves, not someone acting for the camera. If you really want some direction, look for what they asked people in their casting call, and go from there.
Me and a friend of mine recently applied for the RW via email... doe anyone here know how effective that is, or should we probably send in tapes too?!?!?!
Do they usually always tell what they're looking for upon casting a season?

I feel like making a tape you can make things up(not saying thats what id do) and the video what they want. I feel like going in person they can evaluate you face to face and might get a better sense of who you are.
Do they usually always tell what they're looking for upon casting a season?
Yea there a questionaire and appearently for the serios season the packet is thicker than one of a party season.
man i hope they renew their contract, i was hoping to try rw 26 before 18 but since their doing 25 already i have to worry ):
I can suggest sending an e-mail as well if you're thinking about doing an open casting call. I sent one in with a brief description of myself and a few pics and they sent me a VIP pass back, but the city was a few hours away and it was on a week day.
that was for 24 btw, not 25
I remember I went to an open casting call and dominated my group. I berated everyone and even started fighting with this black chick. Needless to say they pulled me aside and invited me to go to the next round. I began talking about my sexual history and I think thats when they realized I was too much for the show. I got axed after I told them some of the stuff I have done in my past.

Do they even cast people that have watched a lot of the seasons? In Mikes interview he said he was so uncaring and only went to support his friend. He didn't really know what the show was about and thought it was stupid. I remember reading other interviews of people who's friends just randomly tell them to go to the interview with them and they end up getting on the show. I think Colie was another of them that it happened to.
That is the case for some of them like Abrham for road rules and Issac for Real World Sydney but then agian Brooke said in an interview that a few of the castmembers wanted to be on the show along time cough Tyrie cough.

I know Bronne had said he had never watched the show, although I had a hard time believing that. Jonna said she never watched the show either. I don't know, some people seem more aware of the cameras, if you get my drift.
I heard that about Bronne as well..... though I didn't believe that for a second. I think allot of castmates say that because they want it to seem like the show wanted them more then they wanted the show.

Well on the one interview they had, Derek said that they were asking Jonna which guy/girl she wanted to meet from previous seasons, and Derek had said that she couldn't even come up with anyone because she's never watched the show. I know Ayiiia and Derek had said that they did the show to do the challenges. I just think the people that they cast now are more aware of the cameras than previous seasons.

It's hard to believe Jonna has never seen The Real World... If she was involved in reality when she was 13, she HAD to have known about the show, unless she grew up without cable or something. The only hardcore fans that I can think of off the top of my head that made it on the show were Melissa from New Orleans, Miz from New York and Sarah from Philadelphia. I'm sure there are more but I would assume that casting directors are looking more for people who aren't familiar with the show so that they could be more "real" I guess.
