The Real World: D.C. (Spoilers)
The Real World: Washington D.C. is the upcoming twenty-third season of MTV's reality television series The Real World, which focuses on a young group of diverse strangers cohabiting in a house as cameras document their lives and relationships. The capital city is located on the north bank of the Potomac River and is bordered by the states of Virginia to the southwest and Maryland. "The District" (as it is colloquially known) has a resident population of approximately 600,000. Its population rises to over one million during the workweek with a massive influx of commuters. The Washington Metropolitan Area, of which the District is a part, has a population of 5.3 million, the eighth-largest metropolitan area in the country. Show creator Johnathan Murray has said in the past that he would only do a Real World in the District if there as a Democratic President in the White House and he finally got his wish. After the craziness that will be Cancun, I guess it is a good idea to head to a more serene setting and go about the business of telling a compelling story with our nation's capital as the backdrop.
Any rumors of the location of the house? I'm in DC until the end of May and would gladly provide updates on the renovations. They should definitely inhabit an abandoned Embassy House, some actually come into mind: The Embassy of Congo (I've seen recent work on the slightly decayed building) and 2 other empty embassies on 16th and Fuller (very convenient to the Adams Morgan scene).

I am not that familiar with DC, only having been there a few times as a tourist. I wonder if somewhere near Georgetown would be a good place to start? I'll have to differ to someone that knows the geography and culture of the area a bit better.

This is great! If they actual cast people they were looking for, this should be a great season!
I just went there during spring break, if only i went later.
Wow, thanks again Bacchus for your always correct info! I like how it will be in Washington D.C. It gives me hope for another mature season of The Real World.
V is going to have a great time with this season. I spent my college years in DC.
I never thought about that! Good point. I have yet to be there. I still haven't checked this place off yet. I couldn't tell in Bacchus's post if they were looking for one specific cast mate with a problem, or multiple.
This will be a good season. Many debates will be going on. I hope it focuses on poverty, abortion, same sex marraige, and the economy as well as the war.

I would say they're looking for multiple.
Haha...well I doubt they're looking for an overweight, physically challenged orphan who just lost their significant other. I would say they're looking for multiple.
No what I had meant was were the looking for one cast member, with one of the indicated issues.
Haha...well I doubt they're looking for an overweight, physically challenged orphan who just lost their significant other. I would say they're looking for multiple.
hahaha talk about diversity!
I go to the University of Maryland and grew up in the area--I actually auditioned for this season but I'm assuming that they don't want any locals, there seem to be very few on any of the RW seasons--so I'm really excited to see filming start on this season. It'll be interesting if they have someone under 21 on the show because having a fake ID is a federal offense in the District and they're very tough on carding--but then again, I have friends at GW who regularly get into clubs and bars so who knows. I'd bet that they're somewhere close to GW or another university because that's usually where there's a younger scene. Georgetown would be amazing.
Ah thank you so ever much Bacchus for gracing us with info. It'll be interesting to see The Real World go to D.C. since it is a place that really haven't been and who actually ends up on the show. Always wanted to go there but never got the chance so it'll be cool seeing the place.

Thank you, Dartagnan and TJ for the support. Either way I hope the cast really talk about important political issues.

This season should be interesting, I am wondering if they will work with programs such as feeding the needy or cleaning up an area in DC.

That would be great, ENY.
This season should be interesting, I am wondering if they will work with programs such as feeding the needy or cleaning up an area in DC.
That might be audience-retaining for one episode. Don't look for it to be a theme. As of right now, they will be fending for themselves like the Brooklyn season.
I am very excited for this season. I have been wanting to see a season in DC for awhile. My friend also got excited when I told him because he has an internship in DC this Summer.
Is it too late to cast? A friend of mine would be great for this season, and I told him about it and he was excited about signing up. He's an immigrant and has been and has life threatening sickness.
not to be a pessimist but uughhh dc..i was soo hoping to get a chance to be on season 23..but i freaking live near dc and go there all the time..its just old news!! and im not into politics..haa you'd probably catch me at a club in the background though lol! but yea for those who arent familiar with the area will have a blast..but i guess even IF you are from around the area, it will still be a new and great experience because of the people that they will be roomed with ill be watching season 22 and 23 but i cant wait for season 24 LOOLL >_<

I tried to get a friend of mine who is HIV poz and a motivational speaker to audition and she's hella nervous.

I am pretty sure they were looking for someone with a life-threatening illness.
I think it's going to be interesting to see what happens if anyone breaks the law/does something to get arrested (as we've seen on some of the previous seasons). DC doesn't mess around with things like security, and the smallest little slip up in DC can lead to big problems because of the paranoia concerning national security.
I imagine they'll put them somewhere like Adam's Morgan, nice area, diverse, scenic, loads of bars. I'm really looking forward to this season, I'll probably hop right over Cancun to be honest.
Nah I am very interested in Cancun. Behindme has an interesting point.
