What challenge was that when Tonya threw Beth's stuff in the pool?
I've only seen the most recent 4 challenges, and so I just know that it wasn't any of those
I haven't seen the past challenges either(I started watching it when fresh meat came on), but I think it was the inferno(either 1 or 2). I could be wrong though.
The Challenge was the Inferno 2. She threw the clothes in the pool because Beth had told Robin of a supposed affair that Tonya had had with Robin's boyfried Mark, leading to the classic moment where Tonya threw her clothes into the pool.
I love Tonya, and I am glad to see her on this Challenge again. If only Beth were on this Challenge with her that would be some great t.v. with all three of the women on the Challenge. Would they even put all of them on a Challenge together?
I know. I wish they sold them on DVD or something, but I don't think that they do that. From what people say, we missed out on some pretty good challenges.
Yeah you most definitely missed out on some good ones, and Fresh Meat is a bad start imo I wish there was a way to watch them as well, I feel all nostalgic now :)
Forreal, I remember like passing them on my guide on my Tv and having no idea what they were, I'd just be flippin through and be like "The gauntlet 2 what the heck is that?" oh goodness if only I could go back in time.
All the missed opportunities.
I started watching during the last half of the original gauntlet and went from there. Man they were really good back then, so many of the cast members we love(and hate) were still doing a majority of them. Some of the recent ones haven't been as good as the old ones but I liked G3 so I have high hopes for this challenge.
Actually, on my iPod Touch I have the Gauntlet 2. It is so great to see an older, amazing Challenge.
For those who haven't watched the older Challenges, you have missed the greatest seasons. The first Gauntlet and Inferno by far surpass any of the newer seasons by lightyears. Nothing is better than Coral/Julie and Katie/Veronica and Julie almost killing her. Or Jo flipping out. Or Beth's clothes being thrown in the pool. To me the older challenges were amazing.
Any way of convincing them to release them on DVD?
iTunes has it. That is as old as they have. The bigger the season the more it cost. The Gauntlet 2 was 17 episodes and it cost me $30. But I would much rather have them on DVD for my personal pleasure.
It's so weird cuz I only know like 1/3 of the older cast mebers, so when I hear about them I naturally assume that I wouldn't have enjoyed them, but now, after hearing everyone's opinions I've made it my sworn duty to watch them.
And anything people are excited about happening now, it happened back then, but even better. Everybody thought it was such a shock to see Jillian go in three times when in the first Gauntlet Sarah went in 5 times and was undefeated. Actually, the cast members back then had so much more punch and personality than the cast now.
I am really excited to know about the format of this Challenge. Are we sure we wpon't find any spoilers until the end of the taping?

I know the suspense is killing me! I hope that it is something that nobody is expecting and will take me by suprise. (and it be kool and not lame, but I have a good feeling about this challenge)
I didn't think that Jillian was anything special, I mean the 3 people she defeated in the Gauntlet all came across to me as being pretty terrible. I did think it was crazy though in Fresh Meat, how Wes and Casey won in the exile so much, mostly cuz Casey is prolly won of the worst competitors the challenge has ever seen.
But yeah that's insane 5-0 in the Gauntlet.

So do I, usually I love finding out about everything that is going on, but with all these ideas of a new concept being thrown around I am so excited to see what is going to happen.

I agree. Jillian faced, Angel, Brooke, and Janelle. Angel almost beat her and I though that was hilarious.
Casey is terrible. She is not a good competitor and she only made it so far due to her popularity. Wes should have never treated her the way he did though.
I agree 150% reguardless of how bad she was, he picked her, plus she was an early pick, then he just treated her like absolute garbage, when he almost called Johanna a ********, I wanted her to slap him so badly.
This is totally random, but even though I was hoping for the Vets throughout all of G3, I wish they had lost more on male days, those would've been some crazy gauntlets.
I was rooting for them for some weird reason because even I saw that they did not deserve the money with their antics.
The thing that I want to know the most is how the elimination process is going to work. If it is a new concept that must mean a new elimination round wouldn't it?
Maybe, I liked the Eliminating process of the Infernos (assuming the first two were the same as the third) I liked the fact that they didn't know whether to throw in a strong player in hopes of derailing the other team or a weak player out of fear of going home

Actually, Tonya apologized to Beth about two years ago for what happened. I was present. As much as people might want it to be something to be a part of a future challenge, it just would not be. I know the two of them far to well, not that production wouldn't do their best to revive something.
You are close in your description of what happened, but there are a couple of important missing details. First, it was Tonya who approached Beth to tell her that she had hooked up with Mark Long. The reason may have been part of her game strategy. Tonya didn't ask that Beth not tell anyone of their conversation. In fact, the two didn't really know her. Tonya knew that Beth and Robin were friends and that there was no reasonable expectation of privacy in such a situation because the conversation between Beth and Tonya did not occur until a camera crew was there. Later, production asked Tonya how she was going to respond to Beth talking to Robin. They discussed what she could and could not do. The rest you saw on TV.
The more likely future scenario between the two would be more like Coral and Beth on G3 where they got along great as roommates, but Coral gave production a few the sound bites they asked for about Beth. I seriously doubt that Tonya would say anything critical of Beth, although Beth would probably give production something to make them happy -- and then she would private tell Tonya exactly what she had said.
There also are no open wounds between Robin and Tonya. They spent lots of time together and had fun at last years calendar shoot. If I recall correctly, they went out together one night. It is very likely that on this challenge, Tonya and Robin will have each other's back. You have to remember that at the end of the day, Mark was just another boy toy to both of them.

From those in the cast that I talked to, all thought Jillian was a very tough competitor, probably ranked about equally with Tori who surprised everyone who had not seen Viewer's Revenge. On the Veteran's side, Eve and Beth were the most feared. No one wanted to face either one, which is why you saw Coral complaining about having to face Beth.

I have always though Jillian was a tough competitor, but she was given too much credit for the things she had done and they weren't honorable feats. Tori definetly did better than any girl on that Challenge.
I hate when people at home watching thinking Beth is an easy person to defeat. Beth has proven to be strong. Anyone who can defeat Ruthie, Montana, dominate Svetlana, and almost take out Coral definetly should be feared. She took Coral to the limit and put on the best Gauntlet I have ever seen.

I'll respect your opinion about Jillian, but understand that I am telling you what other cast members who were there said about her. I'll agree with most of what you write about Beth with the exception of G3.
Actually, Beth didn't take Coral to the limit. After the first score by Beth, they stopped and talked about which one wanted to go home. Beth wrote about it in her blog. There were a lot of things happening off camera and related to contracts that made the challenge environment very difficult. Both agreed that Beth would go and Coral would stay: Coral would give the vets Hell and help the rookies. They also decided to put on a good show and not make it look like a walkover. They were both pros about making sure it was good TV. In the end, MTV called it the "Gauntlet of the Century."

I totally understand what you are saying about Jillian and she earned my respect after her hard work.
I see. Well they sure made it look real. I love how they work these things. So neither of them wanted to stay?

Wes & Casey won their exiles for 1 of 2 reasons
1) They had lighter bags
2)Their opponents forgot to grab the flags from the checkpoints
It would've been interesting to see what would've happened if they had gone into exile against Tina & Kenny because Tina/Kenny had a habit of forgetting flags, but unlike Wes & Casey, they were really good at the puzzles
