LOL Witty scared me for a second. I don't mind the place though, all I care about is that drammaaaaa

The Gold Spike doesn't have a casino anymore. The hotel was sold to new owners and they took it when they completely renovated the place back in 2013 as part of the Downtown Project. The area still isn't the nicest (what downtown areas are?) but it's been cleaned up considerably since you visited in 2012.

That wasn't me lol I literally copy and paste a review of the hotel that I saw online

Oh LOL. I saw the first set of quotation marks but not the last one, I figured it was like a typo or something.

On the bright side we'll easily be able to get pictures of the cast. Smile

I would hate to be the cast for this season...

ugly much

So I'm guessing they are renovating part of the building to make a suite for the cast? This is the only way this will make sense...

I apologize to the future cast who is reading here. I had ya'll thinking you would be at the Hard Rock only to find out this...

They werent going to take the risk of another adam so there was no way in hell we would've gotten a Hard Rock sequel

OMFG. This is so damn tragic. Bunim Murray just take ya'll *** to Atlanta and stop this mess before it begins.

I hate when they film in hotels , but atleast the Me hotel in Real world Cancun and both Vegas hotles looks better than this.

Why can't they just film in a house like BGC did when they went to vegas

thank you!!!! Ive said this for years

"The expression, "you get what you pay for" definitely applies here. This place is pretty much a dump but cheap as hell and great if you're going with a bunch friends who are cheap haha jk. The rooms are perfectly fine, but definitely not the Venetian by any means and also don't let their pool disappoint you.Their pool is small and modest, but there was definitely some awesome pool parties there all weekend. And they let you bring in booze and sell some awesome jello shots at the bar."

"This place would be two starz for me but $16 per night is more than worth it! The king bed was pretty stiff and didnt come with a blanket, just sheets and two thin pillows. Parking is also a problem when they can just open a couple floors from their garage via room key."

"Really, we weren't expecting something akin to the Venetian.  The price was crazy low (around $200 total) for a King bed room connected to a Pool table suite for two nights.

We weren't super impressed because although it's obivous they tried to give the place a face life, it just had that motel feel. It's clean, though! The carpet is that really thin berber, the paint is uneven in spots. One of the bathtubs had a weird bump in the middle. There's no refrigerator, no microwave, no coffee maker and apparently only two irons in the whole hotel! The fact that we had to use out hotel room key in order to work the elevator was slightly annoying. (I got stuck downstairs one drunken night and had to have the front desk call my room for me)

OK, ok, ok - BUT you get what you paid for!! It was hecka cheap and the people that work there were super nice, including the valet men in the front.  The beds were comfy and they do have the best showerheads I've ever seen! They're square and big - i wanted one to bring home!  The pool table was a little marked up but oh well...

The food is actually better than decent and when you have two connecting rooms, it's a crazy amount of room with a looooooong hallway."

Well yeah, they have to if theyre gonna set it in a hotel again lol

downtown brooklyn is nice as hell as well as downtown New Orleans so there, lol Mail 1

I know right?!!!!! lmao

Low key excited for this season lol Real World Sin City

LMAO Gold Spike is right next to North Las Vegas. I'm scared for this cast.. they better not travel much further in that direction.

When people care more about the partying/alcohol drama than the actual location is a sign that the show is going down the tubes

Or maybe I could care less where it is and I'm more worried about whether the cast will be entertaining?

I think the location and cast play off each other though. I know I would be a debbie downer if I found out I was living here opposed to the Hard Rock. Smile

Living there can deliver some epic reactions , while hard rocks it would be them being excited. Plus they are way to stricts

It can. It also can divide the house. Some people will think they are above the location while others will look at the fact that they are in Vegas and not really care.

Location plays a HUGE role on entertainment levels. Think of how you may act or the things you would do in a boring location with not much to do compared to a location that has plenty of life and things to do and see.

Here is another review from Facebook:

I had a great night at Gold Spike place until I tried to leave. When I tried leaving a security guard which should have been my first sign that something was up with this place said I could not leave. I said your crazy I am leaving and as I made my way through the door the security guard proceeded to push me back into the bar knocking people over. He continued to push me into the dance floor area which was very crowded and we began knocking more people over and more security guards gave notice to this and they also joined in on pushing into a crowd. After four or five security guards are pushing me into the crowd we were then knocking people over like a bowling ball to bowling pins until I fell backwards on top of dancers. After this dog pile began to split up, I was then picked up by the guards and dragged out of the building like I had originally intended to do (WTF!!). So they continued to drag me out to a police car, (SUPRISE!! Security guards and police waiting outside, this is obviously not a place me but more of a place for thugs, dealers and people who probably live in the less savory, lower income parts of town). So now I’m on the hood of a police car wondering WTF is going on and the police were just doing their jobs by detaining me and figuring out what the details of the situation were. Another older security showed up weighing about 100lbs soaking wet explaining something to the cops (I don’t know what exactly) and when the officers (D.KANO and ESPERANZA) asked for my side of the story I told them when I tried leaving that I was told I could not (false imprisonment) and when I continued to try to leave I was then assaulted by four or five of the security guards. The officers explained to me that they could not do anything about the assault or alleged false imprisonment because Gold Spike is a business. When I asked that if I were to imprison and assault someone in my own home, the officer (D.KANO) had no answer nor would he do anything about the assault. What I’m really mad at here is the security protocols that this establishment has and their bad protocols are only enhanced by the Las Vegas Metro Police Department. Together they are a formula for disaster and I would not doubt this I am the first or last instance of this happening. I would like to thank the other police officer for turning off his strobes after my wife explained that I have PTSD and a brain injury but thumbs down to the establishment, its security and the two officers who failed to do anything about an assault.

They better hit Atlanta. And do it quick.

Too "urban" smh.

It turns out Gold Spike wasn't their first choice but all the popular resorts and casinos declined along with Bunim Murray wanting to avoid those strict rules they faced with the Hard Rock.

I like how Every Vegas season has been in a different hotel throughout the city.

I personally don't think location plays a HUGE role on entertainment level. I could care less that Skeletons was in Chicago, or that Explosion was in San Fran. The cast carried those seasons, not the location...

Because the location didn't play a part in the season at all. Instead they focused on partying every episode. There's a reason why the older seasons are more iconic

I kinda disagree. Yes, they partied a lot, but thats just what people of our demographic is into. The recent seasons have been about the twist, so I think that's what makes it more okay  to repeat cities.
