I’m actually super happy that Real World, Daria and Made are being revamped and given to streaming services. MTV Studios is a perfect idea and I’m glad they are jumping on this opportunity
I hope y'all don't expect them on The Challenge....Real World is going to be a spin off of the challenge online.....
I’m actually okay with them not being on The Challenge. Being that this will be on a streaming services and not TV I expect that the Thots and Meatheads who normally apply will stick to shows like EOTB and AYTO while the genuine people looking to tell their stories will finally have a fair shot. If this means finally getting our old format and that it is done justice then I think it is okay that the shows stay separate.
I’m more interested in how this will work in terms of casting and production. I don’t expect them to do open casting calls for a show that will be on a streaming service. I’m curious about the budget as well and does a streaming service mean we’ll get houses like GBGH which seems like it was created with a much smaller budget than the others. I hope this also means we’re going back to the cast having jobs again. Also the older seasons filmed longer than the newer seasons so I wonder how long they intend to film these seasons.
Basically if you read in between the lines, Real World is a reality tv anchor that BMP isn't going to let die, but it isn't profitable to produce in the modern day economy....so they will transfer/lease it elsewhere, cause MTV is already a sinking ship...
Therefore, you're gonna basically get a Generic Watered down version of the show for online streaming. I doubt it will be promoted. And I doubt BMP will be as heavily involved...probably just in title.
The budget would have to be cut drastically for it to even be commercially viable....kinda like The Game moving from CW (L.A.) to BET (Atl)

They are probably looking to have a smaller budget so they aren’t going to want to rent our venues and pay for the expenses of casting directors to travel from city to city. I’d imagine less people showing up as well knowing they won’t actually be on TV.

Jon Murray who is the head of BMP that didnt let this to be done will be heavily involved.
I am pretty sure just like big brother and other shows , if this is some what sucessful at all the cast will end up on the challenge
The reason I don’t see this new Real World being on The Challenge is because like the article stated the reason it won’t be on TV is because they would’ve had to bastardize it the same way they have done The Challenge in a sense. Adding AYTO, Big Brother, and EOTB was their way of keeping The Challenge moving with the times the same way they thought the twists would do for Real World. The difference is it worked for The Challenge so I imagine they’ll continue focusing on incorporating those shows and relying very little on Real World and Road Rules other than the people who are already established names. I also imagine the cast for this new season will be more like what you got from the 90s and early 2000s so I don’t imagine many individuals who you guys deem “Challenge Ready”. These people also won’t have the opportunity to grow a fan base like other seasons of The Real World being that their episodes will probably be released at once like most shows on Netflix and Hulu. From a business perspective they’re likely to get the people from Big Brother, AYTO, and EOTB who have a large followings over this.

I dont think thats what they meant , I felt that what they meant bastardize was with the themes/Twist & crazy format not the other shows.
Both Shows had to include themes to survived the challenge after Fresh Meat/Cutthroat & Real World after San Diego/St.Thomas/Portland. For the The challenge it worked longer than it did for Real World.
Hence they want to try the basics again with RW to see of if it works in another platform. I still think they will bring cast members if its some what popular on the streaminv that pick up.
If it’s popular on Netflix one or two will get on the Challenge. Real World is already an attached name it’d be an easy crossover than people wouldn’t even object to tbh
I think it'd probably get more exposure on Netflix than just on TV no? I mean a ton of people don't have cable nowadays, but I feel like literally everyone has Netflix?

I know that wasn't what they meant but I'm saying in my opinion both shows have been bastardized with it beings the twists for Real World and them bringing in people from different shows with The Challenge. They're not going to say it for The Challenge because it is actually working and reflects in the ratings. After thinking it about it a little more I can see people from the newer Real World appearing on The Challenge as a way of promoting the show for people who aren't aware that it will be airing through a streaming service.
I loved the real world but no. The concept is no longer interesting. Times have changed and so have people. Maybe I’m just too old for the demographic but I wouldn’t even care to watch on Netflix.
I think they’ll still bring people from real world because a lot of people still watched the challenge without watching real world seasons so it’s the same basically maybe not many tho.
I think it'd probably get more exposure on Netflix than just on TV no? I mean a ton of people don't have cable nowadays, but I feel like literally everyone has Netflix?
And what makes you think everyone is gonna be checking for the Real World of all things?
I don't see it doing welll....kinda like the green eggs and ham, no matter what format or where ya put it, SamIAm (Most people) don't want it.
MTV got it right with Skeletons. Whoever did casting for that season should come back. Madison had issues with drugs, Jason had just had a child, Violetta struggled with an eating disorder...even the skeletons they brought in, it felt so natural and REAL (for the most part) to see these castmembers face certain things from their past.
I’d say the closest thing before that was Vegas. Nany was out there looking for her father, Leroy was caught up in a bad group of friends, One or two of them had been adopted / fostered (or am i making that up?) Real life issues.

Terrace House is similar but for Japanese people and is a hit world wide and it’s a Netflix Original. If it’s good and advertised it’ll be popular. Netflix doesn’t work like regular TV. A few mentions on social media and people check out Netflix shows
Told y'all what happens when you keep hope alive >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Now they need to put the old seasons on there as well.
I-
i wonder if they would allow these people on the challenge still, i mean i'm pretty sure but you never know with lame *** production
I hope y'all don't expect them on The Challenge....Real World is going to be a spin off of the challenge online.....
I would ***ume so if it does well.
I hope this means they put The Challenge’s old seasons on wherever it ends up as well.

They should let Vevmo Casting Studios handle casting
