RW B2NO was actually included in MTV's summer ratings press release

"The Real World: New Orleans"
#10 original cable series of the summer with P12-34
Season to date, RW: New Orleans (1.9) is up 27% versus the prior season.
Recently delivered season high rating (2.3) on 8/25, and the strongest for the franchise in almost a year (since the Real World: Cancun finale, 9/9/09).
Streams for "The Real World: New Orleans" on MTV.com increased by 24% over the prior season.
Yeah. Its getting renewed. Still unsure about The Challenge, which is a far better show IMHO.
I'm surprised it dropped so much it looked like a real good episode from the previews.
It only dropped .163 million viewers. Not that bad.
Yeah, I was a little surprised too. I expected somewhere around 2.3 million viewers. I predict that next week will have 1.8 million viewers due to Ryan's exit and the fact that next week doesn't look too exciting and I think the finale will have about 2.0 million viewers.

The drop is statistically insignificant.
There's plenty of mitigating factors, not the least of which is the fact that Nielsen does a terrible job monitoring kids in college. They were watching at their parents houses all summer, now they're not.

I Imagine a lot of those kids at college are also studying or socializing instead of watching as well. The first weeks of college tend to be low-TV consumption times all the way up until weather starts to set in in my experience. As I recall from statistics a greater than 5% change is statistically significant.

I predict a ratings drop as well because of Ryan's departure.
Episode 10 was #6 in last week's A18-34 demo for all cable programs.
It was beat by Jersey Shore, the Jersey Shore After show, Teen Mom 2, Real Housewives, and a rerun of Family Guy.

Lord hammercy, when will people stop watching Family Guy?
Yeah... this is what I expect:
2.3 million viewers - Finale
2.5 million viewers - Reunion
I think the Reunion will get more viewers.. because it seems pretty interesting after you yankeegurl93 told us what happened and the pictures you shown us.
So the season shall finish with an average of 2.2 - 2.3 ratings.
Which isn't that bad for REAL WORLD cause they've done way worse in the last few years.
They're running the entire season starting at 11AM so that should draw in viewers throughout the day.
I think 2.3 mil is a high but reasonable guess for the season finale. I think 1.5 mil is more realistic for the reunion, assuming its held a week later.
And yes, these ratings are up significantly from Brooklyn, Cancun, and DC. They are down significantly still from, say, Austin or Key West.
Good rating considering the promo made it seem boring, they should have shown Jemmye punching Knight.
the promos I saw were pretty much all about Jemmye punching Knight.

Wasn't Austin pulling in like 6 Million viewers each week?

I believe these ratings are very competitive, especially in this current niche driven cable market. I was personally surprised with the upturn (but think New Orleans is a quality product as far as this series goes and "deserves" viewers.) MTV knows that Jersey Shore has a short life cycle and the fact that their flagship reality offering is hanging close in the demo they own, adds stability to their advertising prospectus over the long term.
I think the current numbers will warrant at least another season beyond the expiring contract.
Wasn't Austin pulling in like 6 Million viewers each week?
I think that was Las Vegas. I don't think Austin was that high.

Reunions are traditionally rated lower than all of the previous episodes, so there is no way it will be rated highest.

Exactly. Unless something so scandalous happened in the reunion that is simply MUST SEE, reunions never do that well in ratings.
Between the VMAs and their preshow, an extra original Jersey Shore, and 3 Football Games on ESPN, RWB2NO fell out of the top 10 for A18-34 this week. Interestingly, World of Jenks crushed B2NO, which I wasn't expecting, pushing RW to the 5th best rated original series on MTV, and around the 7th best overall on cable.
MTV overall was the #1 network for the week in 18-34, #2 in 18-49, and #3 overall, all positions that were common in the past but more rare recently.

I hope they overlook the fact that other shows are doing better because this season is doing very well in ratings.
I'm hoping tomorrow the show will get stellar ratings, this season deserves it. Also, I would like to add Cutthroat had plenty of promos airing during the VMA's so that's good. :D
