The Real World Cancun

I'm not really thrilled about the concept of RW:Cancun. I think it might be RW:Las Vegas all over again. :(

Honestly, I hate the idea of having the Real World going to Cancun. I'm hoping this is some sort of fakeout and it will end up in D.C. or Baltimore. Cancun is the opposite of all the progress they have made. Hopefully I'll be eating my words by the end of this year.

Mind you Vegas was my favorite season, maybe they will take the high road in casting and not put the "pretty on the outside, very vain on the inside" folks on it. Who knows.

I think it will be a good season. There is no way Murray would see all of this progress he made with brooklyn and go the other direction. A person told me that Murray said in more or less words that he would like to help Obama change the way youth acts today. I think it's a good idea. Brooklyn isn't really the best place to have RW, but I do love the cast and think it is one of the best seasons.

Murray is going to partner up with Obama to change the way today's youth acts? LMAO. I've never heard anything more entertaining in MY LIFE!

Many young people watch the real world, and follow their actions. Believe it or not it is a very powerful tv show. It helped many gay people come out to society. ex. Pedro,Frankie.... Perhaps you and others should read the article more clearly. There is a nugget of intent there that I confirmed today in a conversation with another "insider."

I agree, TRW used to be extremely powerful. It seems to have gone down hill lately though. Brooklyn has been a breath of fresh air. When I saw Cancun, I automatically assumed we were reverting back to alcoholism and sexual exploits. I'll be very excited if the next season stays on the right track. *fingers crossed*

I think maybe he was talking about the fact that she came out about so many things (not her sexuality) during the show, just like Pedro was with AIDS. She showed a lot of cystic fibrosis symptoms while on the show, which must have been extremely difficult. It takes a lot of guts to be under a microscope, but to do it while sick? I give her credit for being so brave.
