Building the season around Road Rules vs Real World is not being done BECAUSE you cannot have anyone under the age of 35. They want some pretty, more athletic younger people.
Age doesn't have a lot to do with athletcism
Yes it does lol. Why else did Era 1 flop? Why else hasn't Darrell won since 2005? Or Bananas only winning once since he hit 35? Tom Brady and Lebron are the outlier. Most professional athletes can't hang after 35. Less than 1% ever until 40. Even CT has fallen off a cliff recently and his prime shockingly lasted until 40.

In terms of Season 40 - era 1 had horrible communication plus a few weak leaks - but honestly they lost the most people the quickest because the other eras smelled blood and just decided to get rid of the team first, had era 2, 3, or 4 had the same outcome in the first two challenges the same would have happened. and Rachel one because of Karma points but she also proved age doesn't matter because she beasted most people in a lot of challenges and even with out the karma points still ranked higher than most ladies this season.
And without that karma point, she would’ve finished 3rd losing to Michele, a girl who works out once a month and drinks wine every afternoon.
yes but that final also was also all about swimming which is apparently Michelle's and Jenny's strength. The karma points while not needed or used as good as they could have been imo prove that social game is also super important and always has been. Rachel still survived in a game where on paper or according to the people who think no one over 30 belong on the show

how do these producers and casting ppl reach out to ppl who had basically fallen off the face of the earth? Do they pray they keep the same phone number? Or hit up their DMs?

CT came in damn near 50 pounds overweight. Aneesa 70. Brad's fallen off a cliff in the past two years performance-wise. Derrick got hurt and hung around two mors episodes just long enough to wipe the rest of his team out. Darrell was recovering from a back injury. Tina performed extremely well but she was never a top competitor. And Rachel's still got it.
You run Battle of the Eras with the same cast in 2017 for season 30 and Era 1 damn near dominates, in my opinion.

this game is more than just athletic ability - Katie & Veronica proved that in AS5. There are so many other factors that come into play - if it was all just athletes playing there would be no reason for me to watch, the personalities and game play are what make the show interesting for some folk including myself. I would take a whole season of Katie, Veronica, Beth etc over a whole season of people who are just athletes. We'll always agree to disagree on this so we should just leave it at that, I'll still be hoping for a true RW vs RR format - it'll work. Age and looks means nothing and I'll stand by that.

When this does finally film, it will be just the second season of All Stars to film in the (roughly) past 1,100 days. That's absolutely crazy...
I'm glad we're getting it, but after seasons 1 through 3 coming out in such quick succession (14-15 months), we're now averaging full 18 month gaps between All Stars' seasons...

the first few seasons came out in covid times - I feel like they were just pumping content out as fast as possible then. Wish they still were...
For OG themes, Battle of the Seasons just seems so unlikely to me unless it's 2 person teams.
If it's 2 person teams, you'd still have to get at least 1 backup from each gender from each season or a TON of alternate teams. Most seasons of Real World and Road Rules had two or three contestants never show up on The Challenge. So the casting pool for a BOTS is already very, very tight. Teams of four seems a near impossibility unless you're okay with a very weak cast with people like JD and Lacey-esque people there to fill out those teams.
Logistically, BOTS just seems like a nightmare. You'd have to pray the cast you want shows up and they don't flake out last minute.
Good Guys vs Bad Azzes or Champs vs Contenders is so much easier to cast/build around.
The last time we saw Alton he was gassing out. I don't think he'd keep up anymore
He was completely cooked in 2020. He somehow lasted the whole season and didn't win a daily. This films in 2026. It's pointless to bring him. He'll be second or third out.

Lacey!!!!! She's always welcome - that is the good thing about a Seasons - We get random cast members who never have debuted or who wouldn't normally make the cut get a chance to appear. I do think it's unlikely but a seasons with true og pairs from early days of RW & RR would prob be the only way I could stomach another pair season. I still prefer true rw vs RR gauntlet or inferno style.

i don't really care about any of the guys to be honest, they bring nothing compared to the ladies imo - but Alton wouldn't bother be if he showed up again. I'd give anyone grace that entering the game during the pandemic was a weird time.

I think you could technically swap Susie/Julie for Kam/Nurys but the former two come off more as villains to me.
Trey was very argumentative and abrasive. I think giving him a chance on a messy team like the one I constructed, he would show out drama-wise.
