damn so their plan was to do AS6 in sept-oct and 42 in oct-dec?

Probably just means same location with 42 starting in January/February. They haven't filmed into December in the past decade, of ever.

Total Madness finished mid-December. WOTW1 was early December & i think WC was either late late November or early December.

Oh okay lol, I only went back as far as Double Agents. But for a flagship to end by mid-December (to get everyone home for Christmas), they'd need to film the flagship starting third week of October. That would mean All Stars starting second week of September with no break in between. That would be a CRAZY filming schedule. Roughly three plus months for TJ and the crew.

yeah you're right. hopefully this pause pushes it back to october (mid oct - end of november like AS3), and then 42 can film jam/feb 2026

Also, the vast majority of the flagship cast would have to go right from filming the reunion to go film 42. It would be borderline chaos.

When I said "back to back," I meant like the last few seasons filmed in the same location, right after one another.

Do they need new prostitutes or something.

JMO--I think you put too much into reunions--there's options

Oh good, so assuming that AS6 still films in the fall and 42 in ~Februaryish, the normal filming schedule can still survive as long as the big wigs don't freeze all filming past like October 20th.

& it's still July. I doubt these decisions will take months to make. We know they got the cast together for AS3 & 5 together in less than two months, so they could def do AS6 this fall still if they decide to move forward with it. *fingers crossed*

The Challenge is one of MTVs two successful shows, I doubt they'd cancel it

Agreed. Unless MTV is being chopped up and sold for parts. And even then I think a "version" of The Challenge lives on. And most of the vets will/should retire in the next 2 to 3 years anyway lol.

Finally we get a rookie class I love to take over the future and they are going to cancel it.

OMG THAT IS HOLLY!!!! She looks soooo good. Was anyone at Challenge Mania?! Is she interested in returning to All Stars?!

They called her for almost every show after Seasons but she had kids right away after that show. I heard by a birdies yesterday that she said they called her and Chadwick for the last one and she was going to go. Chadwick and her have a production company for a film festival so it’s gonna be hard.

they both would be amazing to get back - but I'd be super excited for Holly! Hopefully if AS6 happens whoever the new person is loved old school people and we get a proper casting for an all stars - putting it into the universe!

Holly B is someone who would make Laurel cry.

I love that my two Challenge crushes have become besties. I can't wait to see them run AS6!

I never would have thought two of my favs from back in the day would once again be providing and help run the game in 2025 - love these two.

Whats the other one? Cuz they saying teen mom is cancelled, but hasnt been officially announced yet. Unless you mean ridiculousness

They wouldn't cancel the flagship as the first step. The first step would be to cut the prize money from 1 mil to $750k or $500k or sadly worse. Next would be to dump the 20+ season vets that eat up the appearance fees. Bananas is a Trump guy so he'll survive. But bye bye High A1CT and Aneesa.

Drag Race. Which, if Trump has his way is WAY likelier to get the chop first.

I would love to see Holly and Chadwick but I can't see them enjoying it. With how raunchy The Challenge can get I can see them be turned off. Even back in the day, they didn't want to attend  the toga party on seasons and I remember Holly not wanting to say the word "hell" lol

Is Kelley Wolf on drugs?

h e double hockey sticks

So potentially abandoning All Stars for the main show....

Nope that's on hold too. BMP plan was to film both shows back to back, but due to the acquisition & the firing paramount/MTV decided to put everything on stand by.

Dude that's absolutely crazy if the pause isn't more than a couple of weeks. You'll have advertisers pulling completely out of whatever's left of MTV if no new content is coming.

Let me guess, Survivor and CBS aren't affected?

Paramount already released a statement that under the new regime they're putting Mtv on the back burner and only focusing on cbs since it's one of the only successful network they have.

Based on what some other ppl have said, we should probably have more info in the next few weeks. The merger is expected to close August 7th (next Thursday). Once they get started they'll probably start making decisions about shows/networks they're cutting.

BMP doesn't want to spend millions of dollars filming a season & then get dropped and have to negotiate deals with another network.

They're probably waiting now to see what their future with Paramount/Skydance looks like and if they're in their plans.

The best case scenario for All Stars 6 (and maybe The Challenge as a whole) would be moving exclusively to Paramount+. The new owners are penny pinchers in the Private Equity space (i.e. traditional broadcasting), but are looking to have a big focus on Paramount+.

This is all just giving death knell to me.  The clock is ticking...

bequiet before the FREAKS on here come for u for being "negative" Smile

Even if their "focus" is not on MTV, it has what like six original shows left? Catfish, Jersey Shore, Challenge, Drag Race, Teen Mom, Ridiculousness. Am I missing anything? And rumors that Teen Mom is donezo. I imagine this is a tiny 1-2% of the original content budget they just inherited. Killing it off first thing just doesn't make sense to me.

If The Challenge was a money loser, it would've been dead by now.

The challenge is over... but I will continue my version in its honor

Like the Challenge use to be ten 23 minute episodes, then twelve 42 minute episodes. Now it's nineteen 63 minute episodes and a 2 part reunion. Plus a living spinoff entering its sixth season.

This doesn't happen in the past 15 years if this was a money loser.

I agree, they wouldn't plan on doing AS6 if they were a huge money loser. All Stars 5 ratings seemed like gutter to us, but clearly it was making money if they're comissioning a s6
