To me the boot list makes sense. You're going to need to keep the strong competitors around to build more money to win for the finals. Jessica is small and was probably the weakest, so she was voted in. Chauncey is terrible in the competitions, Ravyn got targeted for playing both sides, Hughie probably sucked, Big T was probably the weakest after Jujuy & Jessica left, Idk about Ciarran, and y'all claim Callum sucked on the UK challenge.

Who cares how big the prize pot is if you aren't gonna win it caus you kept all the strong competitors? Weaklings should have thrived in this format.

Their issue is they don't think things through. It was a decent starter idea but then they don't sit down and think through the possibilities of how it could play out and then think of ways to adjust to fix potential problems. They are just so lazy in every aspect.
If I was a producer, I would have given them the option to "sabotage" at the beginning of the mission and if they chose to sit out there is a penalty that makes it harder for the team to win. Then they get to choose between four swords one sword says safety, one says pick someone to go into elimination, and two say straight into elimination. Or even more simple if you chose to sabotage and sit out if the team loses you are safe, if they lose you are automatically in the arena. That makes the challenges exciting, it would switch up the power dynamics, it would cause the majority to vote their own at times which could make people flip alliances. There was soo much potential with the idea but production dropped the ball.
someone on reddit pointed out - of the 16 people left only 3 have seen an elimination. if they just kept the original format then it would have been at least half of these people right now having seen elim

You can't win a challenge and target the majority because everyone is competing on the same team for some funky reason
When you get voted in you have to face a mercenary instead of having the chance to eliminate someone in the majority alliance
