Beth, Syrus and Eric

I mean they're true OGs so we can only hope

lmao syrus told me 2 years ago in person that hed be back on mtv one day.

seems like it will finally come true 3 yrs later. i bet they gonna have leroy on this

we just need tina, beth and coral

also katie and veronica

I woulda cared about an OG season 10 years ago or even 5 years ago but I really dont care nowadays. Do people really wanna see a group of 40+ year old's playing carnival games.

Yes

If people really wanted to see 40 year olds they woulda casted more old schoolers than CT/johnny every season *sips tea*

You said playing carnival games not what we have now

Also since when did anyone here think casting did a good job?

Old people watch more live TV. Let's see these ratings then we we'll know if production has screwed up for years

I love nostalgia so I'm all down for watching 40 year olds compete lol. And the Challenges back in the day were way more fun as a viewer than the trash missions these days and the years before that it was always just jumping off a platform into water over and over. Climbing ladders, musical chairs with the intertubes, the snake pit pool, I found all those 100x more interesting than running and watching them do a puzzle with a slow motion explosion in the end.

Also we've yet to have any old schooler return that couldn't be competitive with people 10-15 years than them. Give them missions like Inferno 2 and it should be a great time. They could literally do "old school missions" and it would still be entertaining for a lot of us. Not all. Some will hate it but most of them also hate everything about the show.

this^

Also if 40+ year olds can compete on survivor and shit, they can can compete on the challenge. You don't stop being entertaining Bc you're in your late 30/40's. All the housewife shows are examples of that.

I'm confused tho, aren't you the one who says you like the show becoming more like a sport? Wouldn't you not want old school missions then

This is just a fun little spin off so yes I'm ok with watching Katie slay down boots in foseball I don't care

To be honest he just like to have opposite point of views than the rest on each thread to argue lmao

While nostalgia does sell MTV has tried on the past and it hasn't work for them and older people does watch more tv but the most important number is the one of the demo which isn't necessarily the one of old ppl. I personally see this getting the same number as the champs vs w.e spinoff which weren't bad but not the same as the main show.

It's not true at all.  If the old schoolers show up on The Challenge they should be doing the missions we currently see.  The current show is becoming a sport as we can see with the edit.

This isn't "The Challenge"--it's literally a chance to see people that aren't willing to give up 2 months of their lives to do a show.  We're also (hopefully) not talking about a million dollar prize.  This is pure nostalgia.  Here's Beth, Syrus, Eric Nies, etc that you haven't seen in a decade--they're now doing this with their lives--and here's some comps to cause game drama.

Hell, if I just wanted to opposite point of view I'd root for John.

We'll all see if this flops (which it may) or if it becomes a hit.   It comes down to how much it costs to produce vs. how much profit can be made.   This concept is better than Champs vs Whatever especially since they didn't even use Champs after the first season

People who are still casted on the regular challenge (john, ct, wes) shouldnt be on this.

The concept of champs vs stars was more marketable. It also brough people with decent social media engagement from different fan bases. While the majority of these people willing to do it aren't that notorious on social media. Plus, casuals and younger viewers  doesn't even know the true definition of old schoolers they think it's bananas, Paula, Nany,Cara,Laurel,Jenna, etc. They would be shock with a lot of these people since they don't know them.

In my opinion for these to be successful they need to bring their A game as reality stars and MTV do great promotion for it. Maybe do marathons for their older seasons or do special host by current casual favs that will attract younger viewers in the key demo to check it out.

Marathons of older seasons/special hosts would make sense.

I'm expecting to see some people that have been on recently (John, Wes, CT, Aneesa, Brad, even Nany) to be honest.  Hell, Nany and Leroy wouldn't shock me at all.

MTV is going to ruin this, no question, from the format, to the casting, to the promotion it will all be a big disaster I predict. They have proven how incompetent they are for years.

john ct wes and Aneesa are needed on this for it to do any good as far as viewership goes.

While, I am not expecting Nany it's actually smart to have some people that have been on recently like Brad, v, Darrell and in my opinion only 1/2 of CT/Wes/Aneesa/Bananas for viewers that doesn't know all these cast members that BMP/MTV contacted to get on.

They are actually doing a decent job at casting imo staying true to the main concept

Completely agree.  I think Brad Darrell Veronica Aneesa Wes and CT would be a great start to the cast especially if they add Beth Syrus Mark Eric Landon Kendal Tori Tina or people like that to it.  And I'm sure we'll get some person older than we're expecting. Leroy saying he's retiring is why I thought of him.

I fully admit it could flop. I still think Rivals 2 was when they needed Old vs New but there's no point in talking about that. It can't be fixed.

I refuse to get my hopes, I've learned not to trust MTV lol. I hope you are right though!!!

i imagine first season will do good viewing # wise and not terrible cast wise.

but like champs vs duds, after the first season theyll get chit with the casting (jenna as a champ ??? meaning theyll def start recruiting "newer" people for this spin off after season 1 that arent OGs) .. i hope they avoid that this time around.

Brad & Veronica can stay home. No new fans remember them from the whack trilogy. They are awful. Darrell should be there. Aneesa isn't needed but if they need her to tie it in with the new trash I'm fine. Everyone should be from before the original Fresh Meat.

I'm glad they're sticking to the theme. I'll never get over them casting Shane on champs vs stars and he wasn't even a finalist at the least
