Reliving Ruthie should be fun though. She was such a star on BOTSexes just as competitor.

I think I also gave Katie a higher score than Ruthie but it was awhile go so I don't really remember.  Guessing Katie was a 9 and Ruthie an 8.

I don't understand Cooke being at 6....ridiculous

Hoping Queen Rachel is number one!

Are you still there, wutzrenzi?  I'm really anxious to see the rest of your list, as I'm sure the others are.  Don't give up on us, okay?

Neither Kellyanne or Cooke are deserving of such high positions.

katie before ruthie ............wyd

Neither Kellyanne or Cooke are deserving of such high positions.

get out

Ruthie is trash. So overhyped for this supposed magical performance on whatever old school season I don’t care to watch.

I saw her get smashed by Beth and Kimberly, that’s all I need to see.

Emily is like 30 spots too high

So you didn't even watch the old seasons?  Can't be a true super fan if I you can't take the time to watch the golden age of the challenge.

I watched them and she was boring af

Ive seen almost all real world and road rules Seasons. And everything Inferno2- present. And any clip of importance from those old seasons I’ve seen like Katie vs Veronica.

If I wanted to watch Mark slide on ice to win for the men’s team I would have seen it by now.

Battle of the Sexes - Inferno 2 = best seasons imo.  Def worth the watch / shows the series doesn't have to turn trashy to be entertaining.  I still enjoy the show now, but I hate the 'invasion' of other shows.  I miss the fun atmosphere of the series...there was still great drama, but the people were more 'real' and entertaining.

Neither Kellyanne or Cooke are deserving of such high positions.

BYE! Heather Cooke is one of the most iconic one-and-done challengers.

Ruthie is 50/50 as far as a competitor but what we won't do is downplay the epicness known as Battle of The Sexes. This is exactly why you are forever a Flop leading an army of peasants!

I agree but Battle of the Seasons and Gauntlet 2 are pretty great too. Also Challenge 2000

you being a Ruthie fan proves why #TheWinningTeam consists of me and Nevid and you’re no where to be seen :/

Preach!  People on here act like they're super fans but have no respect or even care about what made the show great in the first place.  Ruthie was a beast on Battle of the Sexes, def. her best season.

Her performance on Dead Man's Drop was legendary. Colin's support of here was awesome!  I wish he had come back.

Me too! I loved Colin!  Battle of the Sexes was the first season I watched while it was airing and I got hooked.

Ruthie was elite on Sexes.  She wasn't involved in much drama and wasn't a great strategical player but she was elite on that season.

Let's not forget that she won All Shook Up on the Duel II...which was basically the only individual mission.  During the first mission everyone targetted her because they didn't want her to have any power because they couldn't control her.

Ruthie losing to Kimberly hurts (though Kim is far from a bad competitor) but Ruthie losing to Beth is Reverse Tug O War doesn't tarnish her legacy at all.  She put up a hell of a fight when no girl her size could beat Beth

Ruthie was a good person to see every once in a while on the show.  Maybe overhyped but Sexes will always keep her very high on most people's lists.

The challenge, specifically BOTSexes1 was her redemption from her RW Season.  BOTSexes2 made me feel bad for her again because had she made that final with Coral and Sophia, they could have won.  G2 will always be one of my favorite seasons, seeing the Vet girls actually fight for the captain spot was awesome.  Ruthie may not be Coral in terms of "drama" but she performed without being jacked like Emily/Laurel/Ev.

KVM & FD, I agree 100%.  <3

05. Tonya

AVG: 7.89Tonya's journey on this show was typically a sad one to watch. Before we get into the negative we have to start off by saying Tonya revolutionized what we know about partying, hooking-up and sex on The Challenge. Before your Jodi's and Nany's it was Tonya that was the OG party and hook-up queen of the show. Sure there were people that kissed and hooked up discreetly before, but the challenge we know of today wouldn't have been the same if Tonya didn't come first. She was entertaining and made the show enjoyable in other aspects other than just being good competition..A good Christian Tonya...: Tonya wasn't always the outrageous character we all remember her for. Tonya started off as a normal girl, even on her original RW season. Her first challenge was Battle of the Sexes and she was actually a prude. She refused to partake in Puck's wedding and she refused to partake in any mission involving nudity. Weird right? Well, Tonya's first two challenges were duds not only because she didn't create drama, but also because she suffered from injuries during her rookie seasons that put her game to an instant halt. Bad News Bear: On Battle of the Sexes, cast member Amaya planned to have the Inner Circle vote her out because she had a family crisis to attend to and didn't want to quit, but continued to compete anyway knowing she had to leave. Drama within the team sparked because no one wanted to be her partner for an upcoming mission fearing that she wouldn't give her all, causing whoever she paired with to drop on the scoreboard. After a switcheroo of partners it was Tonya that stepped up to compete with her, but Amaya ending up flopping and in the process of DQ'ing Tonya injured herself and was sent to the bottom of the scoreboard for the rest of her stay. Gauntlet would be no better for her ***he injured her leg YET again and RW kicked her to the curb almost immediately because of it. Pulling a 180: Between her second and third challenge Tonya met alcohol and the love for partying and sex. Battle of the Sexes 2 was a turn up! After feeling like she's always been stripped from the opportunity to prove herself, Tonya showed up to Sexes 2 craving for male attention and would do anything it took to win for her team. Even if it meant putting rocks in her mouth to help melt an ice block lol. The **** shaming story arc began on Sexes 2 and would be something Tonya would never escape. Again, prior to Sexes 2 MTV was pretty discreet about their hookups (if they weren't an obvious showmance). But Tonya bared it all and hooked up Ace and Theo to name a few. Human Punching bag: This would also be the challenge where Tonya became public enemy #1 for the ladies of the Golden age and JKE eras. Tonya discovered that her effort in the missions meant nothing because she wasn't liked. Tonya bickered with Coral and Ibis over a ******* list, and had a petty argument with Tina over phone usage, which led to a rivalry throughout the Inferno 2 and Fresh Meat challenges. To make matters worse Tonya found herself in a brewing love triangle with Mark who began a relationship with Robin on her rookie season. This all laid the foundation for the next challenge where you saw Robin had animosity toward Tonya in the Inferno II. Rumors started before the challenge leading up to the first night. Beth ignites the fire and all hell breaks loose. Robin berates Tonya, calling her a lying dirty ***** for telling Beth that her and Mark were an item. So of course Tonya confronts Beth, in her sleep, because you can call Tonya a ***** or a **** (Tonya owns her shit) but one thing you will not do is call her a liar. One of the craziest challenge moments occurred when Tonya didn't get an explanation from Beth for all the drama she caused and decided to pick up Beth's entire duffle bag and toss it into the pool destroying all of her items. A cl***ic Challenge moment that cannot be topped. Once Beth bailed, Tonya became victim to the Mean Girls bullying and the Good Girl's mind games as they all exploited Tonya's unstableness. Tonya was scapegoated into two eliminations where she beat the overly confident Shavonda and Julie in the Inferno and made it to the final despite being the most hated and targeted cast member. The perfect ending to Tonya's story would have been a victory. However, her endurance was bad and she (along with Tina) cost Team ****** a win, making the Mean Girls berate and blame her even more.Dark Path: From then on Tonya's journey would get dark, and even darker. She appeared on other reality TV shows, came back from a hiatus to do Fresh Meat and was given a hard time. This time by her Fresh Meat partner Johnny. A team that appeared to be physical threats that just did not click. The two never saw eye to eye and her partner often yelled at her during their stay. Tonya by nature self-victimizes herself and uses the bottle to cope with her issues but the teasing and mind games by the girls of this house contributed to Tonya's breakdown for the remaining seasons. On Inferno 3, Cara, Susie, and Colie created the "I Hate Tonya" game, berating her any chance they got. Tonya did managed to pull through all the BS again and actually won for the first time! But Tonya's last two Challenge experiences wouldn't be any better, she was a drunken paranoid mess on The Island and voted off first. You'd think a challenge break would be good enough for Tonya to recuperate, but no she was worse. Tonya is Ruined: The Ruins was cringey! With the mix of the alcohol,  the har***ment by the male champions and the bad memories of her treatment throughout the show finally took a toll on Tonya and she checked out completely. Our last moments of Tonya would be of her stumbling and laying around the house intoxicated and slapping the crap out of Veronica who she had not seen in years. Tonya was kicked off but her last impact on the show would later shape the Challenge in such a drastic way. Tonya is revolutionary for being responsible for why the JKE era ended... as messed up as the alleged situation was we are thankful the show took a turn for the better as a result of her allegations against Kenny and Evan. Their absence allowed for new villains, heroes and faces to carry the show. Tonya was the most unstable & outrageous characters for such a long time (wonder who eventually beat her). Tonya was a solid competitor, loved to hook up and party, but desperately wanted to be acceptance by people that treated her terribly. While we were thankful for the moments she brought on the show, Tonya proved that while the Challenge house can be fun at times, the environment isn't the best for the mental health.

05. Sarah R.

AVG: 7.58Sarah has probably been the first female to openly admitted that the only reason they joined RR or RW was to be on a Challenge. Inserting her summer camp culture into The Challenge, Sarah became one of the most hyped and enthusiastic characters of the show. Nothing but excitement to compete came out of Sarah, which a lot of viewers admired in the age of the show where competition became the focal point. And as we followed her journey we grew to love Sarah because we saw her blossom as a strategist after having the worst luck in challenge history, but then we also saw moments of overconfidence once she became a vet.Guilty by ***ociation: As a Rookie on The Ruins, Sarah was immediately one of the top females on her team. There was no doubt in her abilities or that she wouldn't make it further than most if not all her female teammates. However, Sarah came off naive in the political and social game. She found herself under the wings of veterans JKE, who often "bullied" her, but she thought it was just playful banter. Still, Sarah was a good guy despite being ***ociated with the villains of the show. Hanging out with those guys eventually got her some rivals though. Sarah's buddies placed a plunger in Katie's bed and Sarah took the heat for it. This prank caused Katie to lash out at a laughing Sarah, physically removing her from the Champs room. Katie wrongfully attacked her, which made Sarah the victim in the situation. Sarah got her revenge, beating Katie in the Ruins and later competed on a two person team alongside KellyAnne, losing to the Champions in the end. Soon being the underdog would be Sarah's shtick for quite a few challenges ***he never seemed to catch a break.A Pitiful Record: Viewers and Challengers would go onto having comp***ion for Sarah because either her team wasn't good enough or her partners screwed her over... Or was it just her ego? First she came back on Fresh Meat 2 as an alum, paired with ********* Vinny and got an early boot despite being aligned to Kenny. On Cutthroat Sarah found herself being second fiddle to another good female competitor, Laurel. Some might even say she road Laurel's coattails to the finale, even being her sidekick in letting Cara Maria know how much she sucked. Bad luck followed Sarah in her second finale ***he got sick and medevaced.Sarah came back for her fourth with Katelynn on Rivals and had no chance in hell to redeem herself. But clearly only Sarah was optimistic about their chances despite Katelynn being an awful competitor. We got our first glimpse of Sarah being too overly confident, ***he the two got embarr***ed by Rookies Jonna and Jasmine after expecting an easy win. This one was all Sarah's fault. Exes would be Sarah's fifth, Sarah and Vinny came back as exes after they hooked up on Fresh Meat. Sarah voted Vinny in on Cutthroat and he hated her ever since. The two put their differences aside and won big early in the game. But of course something has to happen to Sarah. The night after dominating a missions,Vinny got drunk and ripped off Mandi's top at the bar, ejecting himself from the game...which meant Sarah had to go as well. It was a devastating moment that won Sarah more fans ***he sobbed around the house. To put an end of the storyline of Sarah getting screwed over by partners, producers gave Sarah the amazing stacked team of Brooklyn. Kidding. Sarah's Challenge career continued to be more pitiful. She managed to make another final on a team Challenge, with her teammates Chet, Devyn and JD, but stood no chance at taking first place.Trash as a Partner: Besides Devyn being entertaining and awful at the final, Trishelle would soon become the most interesting partner or rival Sarah has made thus far in Sarah's career. Sarah had a showmance with Las Vegas OG Alton, and it rubbed Trishelle the wrong way. Trishelle thought Sarah had other motives and routinely told Sarah how manipulative she was and how much she was told she couldn't trust her. This eventually got the two paired on the next season, Rivals 2. Trishelle giving zero ***** about Sarah's record of embarr***ing loses or ejections decides to bail out after an altercation with Aneesa. Nothing new here, TJ arrived to the villa to deliver the news that Sarah would not be receiving a new partner, she would be receiving the boot instead. Sarah took the news slightly better than last time this happened, but Sarah's bad luck was getting old. Sarah took a break from the challenge, one season, and what a coincidence it ended up being the challenges first individual game in years. MTV is always screwing Sarah over huh? Student becomes Teacher: Things were looking up for Sarah on her return, Battle of the Exes 2. An early hook up with Jordan finally earned Sarah a great partner. Having a good partner allowed Sarah to finally play the game how she always wanted to, and to her fullest potential and win! She played both sides of the fence of Bananas vs Wes, she was valued for her strategic input making decisions for her pair, and she dominated in various missions and elimination with her partner Jordan. But it wasn't an easy journey to a final, Sarah always comes across bumps in the road. Jordan and Sarah clashed later on in the season after performing well majority of the season, but eventually put their differences aside before they could crashed and burned. It took some crying, notes of appreciation and a couple of wins to motivate them again. Then comes the exile twist and potentially the best power move in recent history. Bananas and Nany earned their way back into the game and Jordan and Sarah go from power couple since the pair left, to being Tema Banana Boat since his return. Bananas and Leroy's teams threw a mission for Sarah and Jordan to pull some power moves against Wes. Then Sarah pulled her blindside power move against Bananas. Sarah wins the final mission before the finale and wastes no time sending Bananas into the Dome where he and Nany get sent home right before the finale. Sarah had to endure some berating from Nia and being branded as evil by a dramatic Bananas, before winning her very first, well deserved win. Sarah stood firm in her decisions and became the seasons political master. She claimed retirement and closed that chapter of being the underdog screwed by bad partners.Steal the bacon: Okay... so she came out of retired after a one season break. To milk the Bananas storyline and easily win her second challenge back to back perhaps? Her move against Johnny Bananas allowed for production to scalp her completely bald. Exploiting her for a great TV moment. There was no doubt that Sarah and Bananas were going to win Rivals 3. Have you seen the cast? Sarah and Bananas dominated the season, and bonded because of that. You'd think the relationship was patched, but producers had something else planned. The infamous money snatcher. During the finale teams learned that they will be competing for a grand prize and placements as individuals. Bananas manages to get the most points on his team. When it came down to whether he would share or not he gives a speech about how he's spent 13 seasons getting to this moment, and how he doesn't know how many Challenges he has left in him. So, Bananas knowing how to create good TV keeps all $275,000 for himself. Sarah is distraught and all of America is stunned that despite winning, Sarah got $0 and a renewed hatred for Bananas. Sarah officially retired from the Challenge ending how she started her career: being screwed over.We watched ***arah began her Challenge career as a notorious Type A personality, amped to win a challenge but always getting the short end of the stick.  She often befriended the wrong people that couldn't take her glow up in the game, and can sometimes be her own worst enemy. However, she always kept up a cheerful demeanor no matter what the circumstances. Rivals 3 just may be the last we will see of this vet and I'm sure many don't blame her for hanging her jersey.

05. Ashley M.

AVG: 7.88

*Disclaimer: Commentary does not include season 30.Ashley has one of the most fiery personalities of the current generations and has all of the ingredients of what makes a Challenge star: She can narrate, she's crazy, she's confrontational, she'll hook up, and she's a decent competitor. Ashley was voted out of the Real World: Explosion house and when she was in talks to be on The Challenge no one believed that her crazy state of mind would have improved since her season. Let's be honest it hasn't, but that's what we love about Ashley.A Star is Born: Rivals 3 was infested with AYTO cast newbies, terrible "rival" pairs and terrible casting choices. But out of all the disaster left us with one breakout rookie that season who was actually from RW, Ashley M. aka Smashley. Unlike RW Skeletons, Ashley actually stood around for more than half the season and one thing remained: outside of a few other storylines on this season Ashley maintained the spotlight for majority of the season. Her antics were one for the books. For instance, Ashley's steamy hook up with Jamie that lead to drama across half of the season.Brawny Love: Bored with the big Simone and Tony fight, Ashley sets her sights on Challenge Champ Jamie. Ashley and Jamie lock lips in the background of the house drama while KellyAnne is next to them, spaced out, not even noticing. Ashley signals for Jamie to head to the bathroom and the two have a steamy hook-up in the shower while the cast finds a window to catch a  glimpse of the act. A potential power couple was on the rise until Jamie saw the real Smashley. During a night out at the club Ashley downs some shots and noticed Nicole leaving to go somewhere with Jamie. Ashley immediately freaks out and drunkenly accuses Jamie of hooking up with Nicole at the club. Resulting in a hilarious blowout against Nicole in the bathroom. When the cast tries to console her and tell her nothing happened she believes it's a lie. Nicole enters the bathroom where Ashley is crying, and Ashley proceeds to curse her out and demands that she cannot be there, and that she should go **** her pants. All of the dramatics just to act like nothing happened the next day. Jamie and Ashley call it quits and Ashley moves on to having a one nighter with a single Tony later on in the season.Weak ***: Oh, but let's not forget about the major role Simone played in sabotaging Ashley's relationship with Jamie. And Smashley came out again to confront Simone in one of the pettiest/ funniest verbal battles of the season. Simone had been in Jamie's ear, telling him not to trust Ashley and that he was more into Ashley than she was into him. Word gets out to Ashley, and of course this angers Ashley who wasn't having it. The spew of insults start flowing between these two loud and outspoken cast members. The whole house watched as Ashley dances around in a tank top and panties and Simone is laying on her side taking care of her "weak ***" she injured during a mission. To nip that in the bud, Ashley and Cory posed a threat in the game and actually won a challenge that week. And who called the shots on that team? Ashley. Calling shots: After the huge fight, as one-half of the power couple, Ashley wanted to send Simone straight into elimination. But that would mean Cory would have to betray his ally and best friend Thomas, who was partnered with Simone. Cory did not want to betray a friend but decides to put his partnership with Ashley above his friendship in the game. Ashley got her way ***he manipulated Cory to agree to nominate Thomas and Simone into The Jungle. Going as far as threatening to throw missions and quit. Most girls in this game would be submissive to even the dumbest male counterparts. Ashley on the other hand often outperformed Cory, who would eventually be the reason the pair failed in The Jungle later on in the season. Devin and Cheyenne may have made the final, but Smashley was the rookie of the year.Underdog to Champion: Ashley was a fearless standout rookie on Rivals 3. Remember when she took that big fall and sustained a m***ive rope burn ***he falls 30 feet that could have cut her arm off? She took that like a G. She also took that fearlessness into her successful sophomore year and won Invasion as an Underdog, out lasting some of the shows best females. And being an underdog is the direction Ashley's challenge story arc is going. For the first half of the challenge she relied on her politics, being apart of a big (but failing) alliance and staying under the radar while performing decent enough to grant her safety out of  the shelter. She may not have been the strongest but she wasn't the weakest or dumbest competitor. Being good at puzzles gave her an edge over champs that relied on brawn and outsmarting her Underdog competition including her best friend, Amanda, earning her a spot in the final. Among the females, she was a good partner, kept up with male partners, level headed and had the most consistent performance. Proving that she could be well rounded despite being a loose cannon in the political aspect of the game. Still, her antics will always be in the way of keeping her from a possible second victory.Same ole' Smashley: Ashley wasn't always focused on Invasion. While she was accused of using the va-jay jay for a little sway sway on Rivals 3, Ashley coined the term "Polidicking" on Invasion and got involved romantically with Hunter. However, it didn't last until the end as the two got into arguments over Hunter's insensitivity to cast pranks and completely betraying his alliance with Shane, Amanda and Ashley. Bananas being up to his old pranking antics, taking Ashley and Amanda's toilet seats and floating them into the lake also threw Ashley off her game. She threw a tantrum and threatened to quit. Which would be another aspect of Ashley's story arc that we will see on future challenges.Ashley M. is definitely the most ambitious female rookies of the new age crew, she is the only rookie of her group to have a win. She has a lot of heart but it appears that she might have to keep proving why she's a champ without an asterisk and prove that she's not the quitter we have seen in her latest showings. Has Ashley peaked? We shall see.
