I liked Katelynn for the most part. I didn't like her wasting the money Scott gave her though.
Did not like Knight at all. But he was a good casting Choice.
Nia-I'm probably the only person that's in the middle with her. She was a good character for the season, won't deny that but at the same time she did ALOT of unecessary shit and I agree that she came off looking the worse in that entire fight.
Jordan was an *** and I recall not liking him at all but I will agree that he was probably the best casting choice that season.
Ryan...Did not like him either. He made me want to jump through the TV and beat his *** at times.
I didn't like jordan Avery imo was the best cast choice. Her freaky sex shit yet thinking zombies would come and her fight with Nia she was best Portland person

Despite both being interesting... I think Jordan is a way more complex
Oh Dustin. Dustin, Dustin, Dustin..he was pretty much the perfect casting decision. He was hot, athletic, opinionated, and looking for love. He's actually a lot like Jordan in those ways, except OH did I forget to mention that he used to be in gay ****? But he identified as straight so when his past was revealed it was actually quite a shock. Okay, so it wasn't a shock to anybody who followed RW news on the internet, but for those people it was exciting to watch the season because we NEEDED to know what would happen after he revealed it. It was especially tense and exciting because he began a serious (for RW standards) relationship with Heather, and damn did people love them together. They were actually for the most part decent to one another and sweet and not a trainwreck as we had come to expect from most RW couples (Knight and Jemmye were literally the season before). And honestly, the reveal did not disappoint. I believe it's the most watched episode in the past 10 seasons of the RW (I can't confirm, but I know it's up there). I mean, this guy was legit in gay **** and then even after the roommates found out about it, he tried to lie about certain aspects of the ****. Like, did he ACTUALLY have sex with a man? He claimed no, but there is video proof of it, and he claimed photoshop but not exactly possible. He was rightfully called out and quite frankly it WAS ****** up that he wasn't honest with Heather from the get go because if you're having sex with them, you have a damn right to know if they've been in ****. I understood why he didn't want to tell her because....well, yeah. But still, messed up. That's definitely one of the best RW backstories of all time. But honestly, even without the **** past, Dustin would rank high. This guy DESPERATELY needed to be the best at everything and turned every stupid thing into a competition and took everything way too seriously, which he was called out for several times. And he had an interesting family backstory as well (as did most everyone that season). That's not even getting into his rivalry with Mike, which stemmed from two things: Heather (and Mike's jealousy of their relationship) and disagreements about Dustin's past. Their argument about whether Dustin would be allowed near school children was actually interesting and I actually felt for Dustin even if Mike had a point. But honestly, Dustin was also just unintentionally hilarious. He just has this weird way of phrasing things and his insults are almost always hilarious. But yeah, he was a hothead crazypants sometimes.
I already know people will ***** about Leroy being this high up on this list, but I think he deserves it. Look, say what you want about Leroy on the challenges. He's gotten kind of lazy and boring in recent seasons, and hell you may have thought he was always boring, but chances are you loved him on his season. And what wasn't to love? This guy was funny, charming, genuine, and looking for a good time. Let's face it, RW typically casts stereotypes, especially when it comes to black men. They usually boil down to either the "angry black guy" (Ty, Stephen, Tyrie) or the "corny guy" (Jason, Eric, Tyrie again). Leroy wasn't a stereotype. Sure, he may have been cast because they wanted a black guy, but he wasn't a stereotype. If I would compare to Leroy to any cast member, it would be Brad. Both are kind of stupid, but in a lovable way and they always mean the best. Leroy was level-headed until he reached his boiling point, as he did with Adam, and even then he was relatively rational and calm. He was a player, but he didn't just treat Naomi (his house hookup) like crap for no reason (like what Dione does to Kailah). He was honest and blunt with people, but it came from a place of caring and not in a "I say what I want because I'm real" kind of way. When he told Nany she was gonna look stupid for what she was doing with Adam, he wasn't trying to make her feel bad; he was a friend trying to help a friend. His relationship with Mike was surprising and it's untouchable. It will go down as one of the best RW friendships of all time. They played off each other so well that people were genuinely wanting a spinoff about them, and I would've watched. Everything about Leroy was genuine and refreshing and likeable, and quite frankly they should cast more people like him (of all races and genders). Plus, if you didn't get torn up about his friend who died towards the end of filming, you are soulless.
Look, I feel like a lot of people turned on Jemmye during her challenge seasons, but she killed it on her seasons. From her first scene, it was clear this girl was gonna be a standout cast member. Even if your first impression of this girl was "white trash girl with a fake name and ****** tattoo", you were still like "but I cannot WAIT to see more of her". Jemmye was real. She was completely herself, for better or worse. Her accent made her sound dumb (sorry) but she was refreshingly honest and smart. This wasn't just some hick that they cast, this was a girl with surprising depth and vulnerability. Her relationship with Knight was a fan-favorite for a reason. These two were just two crazy kids who we wanted to work out, even if we knew they may not be great for each other. Watching Jemmye get blacked out on a regular basis started as something that was funny because she was funny and then it started to become scary because she would reveal more and more about herself. Her revelation to her mom that she had been abused by her ex-boyfriend was heartbreaking and especially because we had already seen her interact with her mom and they were so great together. The group hug after that phone call remains one of the most touching RW moments IMO. Jemmye also wasn't afraid to call out Ryan when he was being a ********* (or a "girl" as Jemmye regularly called him). With that said, there were times we desperately needed her to stand up for herself to Knight, or stand up for others (like Sahar). She eventually did, but it was hard watching her struggle with that for so long. Plus, she was funny as hell. Honestly, Jemmye was the heart of her season. She's the Paula of this era. And Paula was a damn good cast member in her season. So yeah, Jemmye deserves to be ranked high.
Before there was Hurricane Frank or Hurricane Nia, there was Hurricane Ayiiia. Okay, so nobody ever gave her that nickname, but man does it belong to her. Honestly, my first impression of Ayiiia was "is that name a ******* joke?" (What can I say? I'm shallow), but she quickly won my heart. Look, I'm not going to sit here and say that Ayiiia was misunderstood or that she would've been an easy person to live with, because I don't believe that. I do believe Ayiiia brought a lot of the house issues onto herself because she simply refused to be anything but herself. She wasn't afraid of a challenge, and pretty much sought out confrontation for pleasure. And yet, despite all of this, she was still the victim and we wanted her to come out on top. Ayiiia wasn't like GBGH Jenna, who spouts off casual racist and homophobic comments on the reg and then cries that people call her a racist. Ayiiia was just unfiltered to a fault, but shit for some reason anything she said could REALLY get under people's skin. She makes a stupid comment to Joey and he spits in her tacos (classy), she has sex with Emilee and then Emilee decides she hates Ayiiia because the boys hate her and they have an argument making fun of each other for adoptions and abortions. She tells CJ he has a piglet and Joey and CJ completely get into her face and then start telling her to cut herself (since she used to cut herself), and then Joey puts up signs telling her to go cut herself some more. And then, nobody ever really stood up for her! Like, I'll fully admit Ayiiia got herself into some of these situations, but everyone always took it so far with her and then nobody was decent enough to say "Dude, Joey that's messed up man. You can't do that." She was in a season full of sheep and******* (guys and girls) and man she made the most of her time in cancun. She had sex with not 1, not 2, but THREE roommates (and ************ dj Pat). Oh, and one of those roommates were her mortal enemy Joey. Their rivalry was one of those things that was a trainwreck. Like, you had to keep watching each episode to see what terrible lengths they would go to to get under each other's skin. She was exploring her sexuality, and man she explored it. But, again, she was completely herself and showed actual growth by the end of the season (for the most part) and god ****it, she was entertaining. I love Ayiiia. She should be on every challenge as far as I'm concerned, but I respect her more for not coming back much.
And here we are: the Number 1 cast member from Seasons 21-30 of Real World. I'm not sure what the general consensus is on here about Ryan. Seems the people around here tend to enjoy the real dramatic girls instead, but Ryan is without a doubt the best casting decision of this era as far as I'm concerned. And probably top 10 or 20 of all time. Ryan was great because he was funny but goofy, opinionated but listened, attractive but not supermodel hot. He just seemed kind of like an everyman. He felt like a real person and not somebody designed for reality TV. His was honest about his views, and his views weren't always what people wanted to hear. His fights stemmed from genuine disdain or disagreements for other roommates and weren't just manufactured for drama. When he argued with Katelynn, it was because he was honestly confused about her situation and sexuality and didn't understand why she felt the need to keep it from him. When he fought with Sarah, it was because he truly felt that she was self-righteous. When he fought with the girls, it was because he felt they had been lying or not being completely themselves. His fights with JD came from moments of genuine frustration. His flirtation with Baya was honest and didn't feel like "I need to hookup because I'm on the RW" and his reunion moment where he surprised everyone and revealed that he and Baya are dating was one of the biggest "Awwww" moments. And of course, his friendship with Chet was one of the best. Even if you thought they could be ********, or couldn't stand one or both of them, it was refreshing to see two people just genuinely enjoy being around each other as much as they did. Especially because they came from such different backgrounds. And this is all without even mentioning his Military background. Watching Ryan deal with PTSD was one of the most "real" moments that this show has gone through and it was eye-opening because we hadn't seen anything like that before on this show. His conversations with Baya, Sarah, and Chet about his experiences were interesting but sad to hear because it was clear he had complicated feelings about them and his drinking and songwriting was probably a result of that. Ryan also wasn't afraid to let his guard down. He kissed a drag queen (okay, so he didn't LOVE it but still he allowed himself to be in that situation), and I still laugh thinking about him going to the pole dancing class with the girls. When we found out that Ryan was being re-enlisted into the Army, it was truly one of those gut-wrenching moments that we weren't used to seeing on TRW. It was honestly hard to watch him because he so clearly didn't want to go back, but he was a man of honor. Watching him struggle to cope with it was very sad, as was watching the roommates struggle to comfort him. It was clear that a lot of his anger towards the end of the season was a result of his feelings about going back. Ryan was a great cast member and I'd love to see more of him.
There you have it! Let me know your thoughts and thanks for reading!

Season rank by average score:
1. Las Vegas 2 (24.3)
2. Brooklyn (36)
3. Cancun (41.6)
4. DC (41.8)
5. Skeletons (41.9)
6. Portland (43.2)
7. New Orleans 2 (43.9)
8. Ex-Plosion (47.2)
9. San Diego 2 (47.4)
10. St. Thomas (48.1)
New Orleans 2 had 3 people in the top 10 (the most for any season), and 4 in the top 20, but were dragged down by Eric, Ashlee, and Sahar. Ex-Plosion may not have had anybody in the top 20, but they had 6 people in the top 35, and 7 in the top 50. However, 3 boring exes ruined their average (Lauren, Ashley C, Jenna). Las Vegas is the only season with everybody appearing in the top 50.
This was an awesome ranking! It kinda makes me want to rewatch all of these seasons.
Ryan defiently was a great castmember. Shame he never did a challenge.
Ayiiia was a good character as well and needs to return.
Leroy was a DAMN good character on his season. Watching that season and how he was there and then seeing him on the challenges you can't help but be a bit disapointed becaue you know he has it in him to be a good character but he just sit's there and does..nothing really.
Dustin...The Main thing I never liked about Dustin is that he just never owned the fact that he did ****. He just kept lying about details and such and never layed it all out on the table. I can see why but shit...it's out in the open now. Might as well spill it. And he was a good character that I didn't really like all that much. I enjoyed him more on the challenges.
Jemmye-She was a good casting choice too from what I remember from that season.
Then you got people saying Ayiiia shouldn't be back to the Challenges, like wut? She clearly didn't get to show enough on Cutthroat but at this point I really don't think she cares to come back.
And yet champion those useless *** peons from AYTO...
Charlie wanted to meet Britney Spears. Charlie got his guitar smashed in by Cameran. There was a rumor that he was there as long as Frankie was but he only appears in like 4 episodes against Frankie's 20+. Charlie is the worst RW cast member of all time.
Simon was gay and Irish. That's about as much as I can remember about him. When I went to Wikipedia to refresh my memory of him, he was only mentioned like twice in an entire season worth of episode descriptions. But he was nice, so good for him.
Brittini was naturally very beautiful and she had a fling with Will and, well that's about it. She honestly was harmless but didn't add much to the show in her short stint. It didn't help that she was the replacement for Joey, one of the most entertaining cast members.
Chris had all the makings of a great cast member: he was a hot, gay, struggling actor who was recovering for an alcohol addiction. But, it never really translated. He was pretty lowkey throughout the season, but I did appreciate that he didn't really put up with BS. One of his more memorable moments probably came when he pinched Cara's stomach. He also had a few spats with Tonya and Theo about sexuality that showed there was more to him.
I think Nick is SO boring. Like, he's so corny and boring. He spent his few episodes on the show being scummy with Dave about girls and having foursomes and shit. And he got mad at Sarah for calling him Charles Barkeley. He then went onto appear on 2 challenges, and somehow appeared on less episodes of the challenge than the real world, and he only appeared on 4 RW episodes...
Willie was nice enough, but also boring. The whole big "twist" about Philadelphia was that there was not one but TWO gay guys and Willie was obviously gay from the start, and then just...didn't really do anything all season. But he's cool.
Look, I kind of loved Jose. He seemed like a cool, fun guy to hang out and he could actually be low-key hilarious when he wanted to be. But man, he was pretty boring on screen yeah? Like, there's been a lot of boring people on the RW. But still, he had his moments like when he and Janelle got into a fight because she called him lazy. I literally can't remember why, but Jose was hilarious in the finale of this season. Like, I really don't remember why but I know I thought this. One thing that kind of bugged about Jose though was the way he sort of played both sides of the Tyler/Janelle vs. Svetlana divide.
Look, I really liked Key West as a season. I feel like it either gets forgotten about or looked at with shame because it produced Johnny Bananas and Paula, who would go on to eventually annoy everyone on the Challenge. But I think it's great. With all that said, Zach is also super boring. I feel like they cast him to be a heartthrob but he sort of just ended up being "boring, Jewish Johnny (or JOHN at the time)". He did have a little thing for Svetlana that never really led to anything, and he was juggling a few girls at once for a bit there, but there just wasn't much more to him than that. Still, he was a nice guy and that's a rarity in this show so good on him.
I ******* love Jamie and I loved her on her season. She's also one of the most successful RWers with roles in "Once Upon a Time" and several movies. She's also hot as hell. None of that necessarily means she was an interesting cast member though. She was just too cool man. Like, she didn't belong. She was way too good for the show and she was smart enough to not really do anything too stupid on TV. She just liked to get high, get hammered, and pass out early. I say good on you!! Her most memorable moments were dealing with how to talk to her parents, who only spoke Korean, and when she realized Frankie was cutting herself. "And that's when I realized...Frankie's a cutter" is engrained in my brain. Jamie rocks, but she wasn't all that entertaining.
Hints for next update: A couple bros, and 2 of the more country RWers (one of whom is also a bro)
I always loved Chris. I still think that to this day he was one of the best gay people this show has ever produced. He was kind, mellow, low-key, and I remember him giving good advice I think? He was a good presence and I wonder where's he's at now.
Nick..I like Nick. And he's sexy as hell in that pic you used.
Jamie..yeah. I recall her not being shown alot so she wasn't inreresting. But I do remember her figuring out Cameron and Robin's jumping in the water to get out of working at their job.
Loved Zach and Jose. I just realized that Jose and Janelle could've been a Rivals 3 team. They did argue a bit on the season.
Charlie..Charlie was a bit Lulzy.
Simon was nice, Britnii was boring, and Willie didn't do much either so good write ups on them.

So funny you mention that about Cameran/Robin because I meant to put that in Jamie's write-up and just forgot. But yes I do remember that! That was funny.
The Vegas love and Jemmye being in the top 5 makes me so happy. I dislike Dustin though, I actually think his entire personality is really contrived, from the "oh no, I hope that no one finds out about this dark secret that I included in my audition tape and bring up in every confessional", talking at Mikemike (kms) like he didnt hate Dustin basically the entire season, to all that bullshit about how he always falls in love, asking Mike to not let him, bs, bs. He's a non-confrontational male Simone, in terms of fake camera ********* imo. Good tv though, I guess.

Your writeup of Ryan L. just reminded me of how hilarious I thought that first episode was. Don't get me wrong, he was a complete ******* but I found his absurdity entertaining.
I really liked Ryan from Brooklyn. I was really disappointed seeing Chet and JD on challenges but not him. I am guessing his military status prevented him from doing so? I feel like he would have done really well. Awesome job on these btw! Enjoyed the read.
I love these rankings! I really wish Ryan C. could have done a challenge. He's always been one of my favorite cast members. Ayiiia was so crazy on Cancun lol I wish she came back too. I was watching Cancun the other day and I thought it was so hilarious how she was celebrating Joey's eviction while her other roommates were crying.

Well we agree on one thing.
I liked Katelynn for the most part. I didn't like her wasting the money Scott gave her though.

She should be on every challenge as far as I'm concerned, but I respect her more for not coming back much.
1. Ryan (Brooklyn)
RyanCRW.jpg
Ryan was a great cast member and I'd love to see more of him.
i dont think jordan is complex. hes a typical LA dreamer "i can do anything if i put my mind to it" narcissist that wants to be a model and actor

Will start seasons 11-20 tomorrow!
Ryan is my favorite cast member ever, so I love this.
Can't wait for the next rank-up!
Queen Ayiiia top 2 <3
Love that the fans were the ones that "vote" for her to be on real world Cancun
Ceejai should definitely be number 1 or 2 imo.
Yeah, shocked that this did not get mentioned, good list though!
Yeah, shocked that this did not get mentioned, good list though!
Then you got people saying Ayiiia shouldn't be back to the Challenges, like wut?
She clearly didn't get to show enough on Cutthroat but at this point I really don't think she cares to come back.
And yet champion those useless *** peons from AYTO...
Btw i was watching an episode of 30 rock yesterday and they actually mentioned ayiiia.
Time for Season 11-20 rank!! Here's 74-66
74. Charlie (San Diego)
CharlieRW.jpg
Charlie wanted to meet Britney Spears. Charlie got his guitar smashed in by Cameran. There was a rumor that he was there as long as Frankie was but he only appears in like 4 episodes against Frankie's 20+. Charlie is the worst RW cast member of all time.
73. Simon (Paris)
SimonRW.jpg
Simon was gay and Irish. That's about as much as I can remember about him. When I went to Wikipedia to refresh my memory of him, he was only mentioned like twice in an entire season worth of episode descriptions. But he was nice, so good for him.
72. Brittini (Hollywood)
BrittiniRW.jpg
Brittini was naturally very beautiful and she had a fling with Will and, well that's about it. She honestly was harmless but didn't add much to the show in her short stint. It didn't help that she was the replacement for Joey, one of the most entertaining cast members.
71. Chris (Chicago)
ChrisBRW.jpg
Chris had all the makings of a great cast member: he was a hot, gay, struggling actor who was recovering for an alcohol addiction. But, it never really translated. He was pretty lowkey throughout the season, but I did appreciate that he didn't really put up with BS. One of his more memorable moments probably came when he pinched Cara's stomach. He also had a few spats with Tonya and Theo about sexuality that showed there was more to him.
70. Nick (Hollywood)
NickBRW.jpg
I think Nick is SO boring. Like, he's so corny and boring. He spent his few episodes on the show being scummy with Dave about girls and having foursomes and shit. And he got mad at Sarah for calling him Charles Barkeley. He then went onto appear on 2 challenges, and somehow appeared on less episodes of the challenge than the real world, and he only appeared on 4 RW episodes...
69. Willie (Philadelphia)
WillieRW.gif
Willie was nice enough, but also boring. The whole big "twist" about Philadelphia was that there was not one but TWO gay guys and Willie was obviously gay from the start, and then just...didn't really do anything all season. But he's cool.
68. Jose (Key West)
JoseRW.jpg
67. Zach (Key West)
ZachMRW.jpg
66. Jamie (San Diego)
JamieCRW.jpg
Glad to see you brought the rankings back. I'm currently catching up on reading!
yeah I always thought this about Dustin.
Simon's hot. Wtf. So are Chris and Willie, or at least from those two pics anyway.
Your writeup of Ryan L. just reminded me of how hilarious I thought that first episode was. Don't get me wrong, he was a complete ******* but I found his absurdity entertaining.
Simon was complete wallpaper on Paris but then he threw a bunch of shade on the reunion show. I think he phoned in for it lol.
Joey Kovar and Brianna Taylor definitely need to be at the top for Seasons 11-20 B)
