The Real World: Ex-Plosion - Ratings

I think people are looking at this all wrong. No matter how great or horrible the casting/format was this season, they had to pick the slack up of 2 horrible rated seasons. I'm not sure why people thought the premier was going to be anything more than 1 mil/.5. Just like all the others, the premier ratings are usually from the hype of the previous season. San Diego Premier Rated 1.9/1.2 San Diego Finale Rated 1.3/.9 STT Premier Rated 1.2/.6 STT Finale Rated 986.6/.6 Portland Premier Rated 700k Portland Finale Rated 806k/.5 So it only makes sense that this would start out low regardless of the quality.
So it only makes sense that this would start out low regardless of the quality.
Except, with all the hype, more people seemed to be really interested in the exes twist. The general public expected the exes first episode because of the format name, as well as the fact that tv listings said that the exes move in immediately. Only people that stayed really informed on here would have known that the exes wouldn't be coming until the fourth or fifth episode. It's just a really pathetic showing either way
I just hope Real World is still going on so I can tryout in about 4-5 years.
I would like to try out in a couple of years but I would never make it, lol.
I'm guessing that people who tuned in to watch The Real World, will tune out next week. I have no idea what this show should be called, but it isn't real and I am not sure what audience it is aimed at. It's a cross between The Hills, Bad Girls Club and cable access television. It's so bad, that I quit. I can't do it. I've watched every episode of every season thus far. Now, I'm done.
It's honestly so hard to pinpoint the exact problem with this season. I feel like quite a few members of the cast are fame hungry but I also feel that they were pressured by the producers to "bring it" because they are like the last hope for the show to get renewed for a few more seasons. I think that pressure resulted in the starting of unnecessary drama and forced conversations of topics that gives the vibe of terrible acting. On top of that the editors plugging in topics about relationships made parts of the show unbearable. Like we know it's Exes but you don't have to shove it down our throats. Lastly, casting a ton of models and actors along with people with no real issues doesn't help.

I am assuming majority of people discussing how terrible this season is are out of MTV's demo. If you have seen every season, MTV probably stopped caring about your opinion 10 seasons ago. I watched it and laughed realizing I'd probably love this if I was 14. MTV knows their demo and what their demo likes which is why they went with a Jersey Shore feel. No cast or events will bring up the ratings drastically. With social media, dvr, and online viewing I hope that keeps the show going. It is an iconic show, but if it does get canceled it wasn't anyones fault it is just a dated show.
All they have to do is change the day to Thursday @10 There's way too much competition on Wednesday. A lot of people probably watched AHS return instead, and next week there's AHS and Duck Dynasty. They should just move it to jersey shores time slot
HA! Do you not know what plays on Thursdays 10pm. You have scandal and elementary, just saying scandal alone proves how bad of an option that would be. It would be just asking to fail.
I am assuming majority of people discussing how terrible this season is are out of MTV's demo.
I'd say 99% of people discussing how terrible this season is, are in the 18-49 demo - which is the one that pays the bills. Total viewers (P2+ above) doesn't really make much of a difference. Even if we used the P12-34 grouping that MTV likes to publish when 18-49 ratings are tanking - a vast majority of Vevmo users would be in that demo.

But scandal would still probably be less of an issue than AHS/Duck Dynasty/Honey Boo Boo combined...................

why did they cancel teen mom 3? Ratings were better for that than TRW
But here's the main question: Is it worse than Road Rules Viewers Revenge? David Jacoby for exemple thinks that this season will revitalize the francise. I'll wait with my final review of this season when the exes move in. That's what the season is all about and I think you should wait for that before saying this season sucks before the twist hasnt even started. At this point this season is actually just like the previous ones just with a new style of editing and they are telling us what day is it so that we know exactly where we stand before a lot of viewers criticized how bad they edited as they had one day for one episode and now we can tell how long the journey has started.
It's so bad, that I quit. I can't do it. I've watched every episode of every season thus far. Now, I'm done.
I'm with you. I've watched 90-100% of every prior season, but I'm quitting after the first episode of this one.

I agree with what Frank said on the Right Reasons Podcast, this isn't The Real World. The people commenting on the video on MTV's website don't even like it.
Next season they are going to go the Big Brother route and keep 14 folks sequestered in a house for 3 months with no way of leaving the base, and with NO contact from the outside world. Just PLENTY of booze, as usual, and competitions to earn food and special prizes. It will be live and aired 3 days a week, with one roommate getting 'terminated' by the VIEWERS each week until 2 are left standing to battle it out for the notoriety and $50,000.00 GRAND PRIZE, along with a permanent spot in the next season of Real World: The Battle Zone.

In my opinion the best night for The Real World is Monday night, but MTV just doesn't want to change the day for some reason. But they are changing the time this Wednesday at 11 because they are scared of duck dynasty premiere.
If this show gets cancelled the challenges will follow suit.
Then good riddance to both of them. Life moves on

I'm going to have to rewatch and see just how bad it was.

If people are so happy the show might get canceled why are you still posting here? Move on to a forum about a tv show you like. The constant negativity on the board is exhausting.

Obviously everyone here is a fan of the show otherwise they wouldn't be here. I think people are just sick of seeing RW do everything but what they need to do which is cast interesting people who have real stories and allow it to play out, clearly gimmicks like bringing their exes in and casting fame*****s who are only on the show to launch some kind of acting or singing career was a fail, people are just fraustrated and not willing to continue to make excuses IMO that doesn't mean they hate the show
If people are so happy the show might get canceled why are you still posting here
I don't see anyone acting gleeful over the prospect of the show's cancellation. Rather, I see people who are gravely disappointed that MTV decided to turn this once groundbreaking reality series into an epically cringeworthy scripted disaster.
Move on to a forum about a tv show you like. The constant negativity on the board is exhausting.
To be fair, I was here first.

I don't think that they can even get the kind of people that they need to make this show what it once was. The people of that caliber I would think would probably want to stay away from Reality TV...Plus there's a ton of people who just want to have their 15 minutes of fame.
My TV guide still says 9 o'clock... I do live in a texas we have central time zone.
If people are so happy the show might get canceled why are you still posting here? Move on to a forum about a tv show you like. The show is not going to return to it's original state. ****, I would take a boring DC season again instead of this blatantly scripted garbage.
Then good riddance to both of them. Life moves on
say that again. all shows have to end , eventually. unless it's the Simpsons or south park.
