All they have to do is change the day to Thursday @10 There's way too much competition on Wednesday. A lot of people probably watched AHS return instead, and next week there's AHS and Duck Dynasty. They should just move it to jersey shores time slot
Ouch! Don't be surprise if The Real World gets replaced by BGC. I can definitely see it now since they have a Challenge too, and plus America loves a good cat fight! (Hence Love and Hip Hop and Real Housewives)
The Real World has already been replaced by Bad Girls Club even Wendy Williams said that. What's funny is what they are doing for Bad Girls Club: Chicago should have been done for The Real World and they wouldn't have needed a format change. On Bad Girls Club: Chicago they'll have a life coach and their parents also come for a weekend visit.
Real world > Bad Girls Club.
Shoot, BGC ratings haven't even been that great since season 9. That's gong down the drain soon too.
I wish the Real World would go back to being a show about individuals overcoming their setbacks. Instead of jumping into a bunch of drunk fights on the premiere, spend a half hour telling every story that each individual has to share. Have people go to the Real World house with struggles they want to overcome, not to just drink, act stupid, and have a good time. If the show was about the growth of each person it would be much better in my opinion. Of course this has been said a million and one times.
Oh yeah, people's choice awards were on last night with 10.5 million viewers. More than duck dynasty viewers (so as I said before, airing the show a week early screwed them over)
Hopefully with re runs it goes up, But I don't know.
Shoot, BGC ratings haven't even been that great since season 9. That's gong down the drain soon too.
It rarely goes below a million in terms of ratings though.
THe miami season did on episode 9
THe miami season did on episode 9
Which is why I changed my statement LMAO. Even though it was the worse season it only did fall below once.

On top the ratings aren't even that bad though, it's seriously the highest rated show on Oxygen.
But we will see, I feel like MTV is playing stupid. They change the time next week for Duck dynasty premiere. Why not just change the day since the start?
Goodbye, The Real World. It was fun while it lasted.
I think I would be pleased if Season 30 was a mix between Portland and Exes. Portland was boring most of the time and Exes is over the top at the moment so they need to find middle ground.
Not good. We will see what happens in the next couple of weeks. We still don't know how it did in their target demo. If they do decide to take another crack at Real World I think they need to open casting up and take a chance. Toss out the 26 year old age limit, bring in people that are very real and very different. Every cast member shouldn't look like a model and be a party going extrovert. Put some personalities in there that really do clash and see who 7 people who are not at all like minded can all live together in one house. I think you would get some interesting and substantial interactions. I have started watching another reality show and it's the Australian version of Big Brother. I think it does the "multiple strangers" part better than Real World does of people living together. Real World is more like, 7 college kids moving in together. Yea they are different but how different can they be? Lets get people from real different walks of life and see what happens.
This show has too much competition on the day that it airs. But I think a bigger problem is that the lore of this show has worn off. 7 strangers living together and getting real isn't cutting it.Especially with the people they cast nowadays. There's nothing interesting there anymore. RW has been outclassed in The Reality TV game for YEARS now and It's clear that this show's days are numbered.
The sad part is there are great candidates who audition and actually have a story to tell but they are overlooked because casting directors want to cast frat boys and ***** instead.
The sad part is there are great candidates who audition and actually have a story to tell but they are overlooked because casting directors want to cast frat boys and ***** instead.
Then they need to start looking at those people who will actually have a story to tell and something to say. Not just ***** college kids looking for a party.

The Real World Implosion.
To be fair the promos did say the biggest disaster in real world history

You guys say the same thing season after season, if you all want the show to be canceled so bad why are you still here talking about it? Of course V1 couldnt even resist coming out of retirement to say something negative. Theres way more that goes into it than ratings because people don't watch TV like they used to. I rarely ever watch shows live, nielsen ratings are outdated. MTV's best chance of ratings are drunk people partying and fighting (Jersey Shore) no one wants to watch "real" people sitting in a house crying about their life issues. The show has been on 12 years, 29 seasons. They have dealt with pretty much issue and scenario. Reality TV has become so big and out there that 7 strangers living in a house isn't as exciting anymore. I applaud them trying something new. And of course people like V1 and others aren't going to enjoy it, you are outside their demographic. If you are over 25 and still enjoying the show there might be an issue there.....

There is nothing wrong with being drunk and fighting but there needs to be substance also. In the earlier seasons they went out and had a good time but they also had issues they was there to deal with. The problem people have is people like Ashley and Thomas who come from money and have no real life issues are cast instead of people who can have a good time while bringing something real to the show. I'm 20 and support The Real World but that doesn't mean I'm going to like everything they do. BTW seven strangers living in a house is still exciting just not on The Real World. Bad Girls Club uses the exact same concept as The Real World and though they argue, fight, and get drunk some of them put their issues out there and bring realness to the show.
I agree with there is so much other reality shows that the show just isn't interesting to people anymore because there is so much more shows on. It was popular years ago because there wasn't any other reality shows around and the real world was the first big thing of it so it stood out. But now not many people care about the show anymore. Most of the alum doesn't even watch it now. It sucks but I honestly don't know how there going to fix the ratings. Something is just missing and I have no idea what it is.
One word: Authenticity.
I agree. The concept doesn't bother me it's the people like Jamie, Cory, Jenna, and Jay who are obviously acting.

A lot of rich people have very big life issues. It has been one episode maybe in a few episodes we will learn why Ashley acts the way she does. The girl clearly has issues. Outside of this site I don't know anyone who watches Bad Girls Club anymore. I am sure it has its loyal following but it isn't a rating juggernaut or anything.
Outside of this site I don't know anyone who watches Bad Girls Club anymore. Yeah I definitely can't agree with the idea that casting "rich, white" kids is a bad idea because they don't have struggles. Seems like a kind of narrow-minded idea to me. I don't need to watch a bunch of people struggling to make ends meet. Plus, I'm not sure I even believe Ashley when she says she's wealthy. Mostly because I think she screams white trash.
