TVByTheNumbers must have made a mistake because they changed it to 949 now but even with that, that's still bad. Like the fact that show is still having a hard time breaking a million...
The show has to recover after Portland atleast it went up , hopefully it keeps going up! but With MTV and they are be crazy with the show schedule...I kind of doubt it.
No more excuses. no more reasoning. the show is dead. they need to let it go.
As someone who has tried out multiple times and made it to the finals once..i feel bad saying this but it needs to be cancelled.
The show did better than Portland's premiere. The show almost did a million even after they changed the date for the premiere. I'm not full fan of what I watched last night but I definitely think the show has potential to grow especially when the Exes show up. You guys have to realize the show is recovering from back to back failed seasons.
Portland debut was around 700,000 and Ex-Plosion debut is at 949,000 so that's a plus.
I dont think total viewers matters. Isn't the demographic, 0.5, what makes them money?

Yep, it's dead. It's going to be fun watching it sink too :)

Definitely a mistake then, I took a screenshot of the original 686 they had posted. 949 isn't much better, but at least it is pushing the million mark.
Are there any chances that they still might film a few more Challenges if the RW is cancelled after this season or no?
The Challenge does well ratings wise. I think/hope that MTV gets the hint.

I give it 2 or 3 seasons and it'll be right out the door. Unless they start adding people from other MTV shows like Teen Mom... :highly_amused:
People don't realize The Real World is essential in The Challenge surviving. The only way The Challenge will survive would be if they revived Road Rules or found a new source for their rookies.

If BGC moves to MTV, they'll have a good pool of girls to use. MTV and BMP would just need to develop a show to bring in more guys to compensate.

Can we expect a few Fresh Meat's on the horizon?
Can't resist a drive-by comment:
Given the hype MTV attempted for this show, particularly in social media, the updated result is pathetic (686K would have been sufficient reason for mass suicides at BMP and MTV).
"Teen Wolf" on Monday against the BCS championship returned 2,429M and 0.9. Those are the kind of numbers MTV wants every night in prime time. Next week RW goes up against Duck Dynasty's season premier following tons of media attention over the holidays. Ugh...
In addition to Duck Dynasty, last season's most consistently powerful draw on cable, next week RW will be up against the premier of "Men at Work" on TBS and new episodes of Nashville, CSI and Chicago PD on broadcast media, as well as new episodes or premiers of "Best Ink," "Top Chef," "Restaurant Impossible," "Lone Target," "South Beach Tow," "Human Safari: Sturgis," and "Restaurant Impossible." New episodes of anything last night were practically nonexistent which is one reason MTV changed RW's premier date.
So far, this fits my prediction for RW: Stick a fork in it, Gracie. It's done...

From what I heard people didn't take to Fresh Meat 2 so I doubt it.
Adding people from teen mom will just kill it faster
That was me being sarcastic. The Challenge won't survive without The Real World because if they find a new source of rookies it'll eventually turn off The Challenge fans and eventually the show will turn into something different like The Real World has.
Teen Wolf's ratings were great and well deserved, it was an awesome season premiere. RW, sadly, has gone as far as it can go. MTV's ratings as a whole are beginning to slip, its big powerhouse is no longer reality TV, but instead a supernatural scripted series. It is no surprise that Daniels has ordered a supernatural version of Scream and an adaption of the Shannara series for the network.
It is possible that ratings will increase, most likely after the exes move in, but I wouldn't get hopes up. Maybe if the show went on hiatus for a few years, and returned to a new crop of viewers, it could find its niche again. Who knows at this point anymore!
Ouch! Don't be surprise if The Real World gets replaced by BGC. I can definitely see it now since they have a Challenge too, and plus America loves a good cat fight! (Hence Love and Hip Hop and Real Housewives)

MTV fell off the ladder as soon as Jersey Shore finished. It's no longer even considered a powerhouse. Can't say I'm not glad.
