Wow talk about discomfort!! I will seriously feel molested O.o...security sometimes take it too far! What happen to the body scanners?
I guess better safe thsn sorry, but wow, may as well tell people to show up naked.
They take the gloves off and run them through a scanner to test for explosives residue supposedly
New Zealand vs Great Britain in the Women's Soccer is just about to start in Cardiff.
Cardiff? Hopefully the spacetime rift doesn't act up!
Edit 1. The score is 0-0 after 50 minutes.
Edit 2. 1-0 GBR. Great kick!
There are so many empty seats in the stadium, so much for not making the same mistakes as China.
What is most astounding is it is "football" and it is the home team! If they can't fill the stadium for this, it is going to be a **** ghost town for less appealing matches.

Looks like a Sydney part II, which is a good thing.
I actually just went to London for the first time last April, and I absolutely loved it. So I am reallyyyy looking forward to this. I usually watch anyways, but TBH I don't really care who wins. I root for Canada (don't ask why, it's a long story, hahaha) because I don't really like much of the US athletes since I see them on commercials 2905272907543x during the Olympics and before it, so yeahhh...
Disappointing to hear NBC is delaying events by a half hour, but I'm even more disappointed that they aren't showing the Opening Ceremonies live.
NBC's coverage of the Olympics just shows why they are tanking as a network.

Me too.

It has been an interesting start, although I could see how it might appeal more to a British audience. Beijing was an unmatched spectacle (it might never be matched) while this is more of a walk through British history with a narrative.
Maybe NBC could cut down on the commercials so a flow could develop.

I tend to agree.

It turns into more of a party as the night goes on.
I'm not impressed thus far. I wish I could fast forward and just watch the parade in and the lighting of the torch...
Oh wait, it's probably on YouTube already because IT AIRED 5 HOURS AGO.
I'm actually really liking the opening ceremony! It's a lot different from the Beijing open, which I think is good. Trying to rival that would've been a bad, bad idea.
I'm just a little miffed about it being delayed.
I am failing to see the point of this ceremony so far. They just played music from A Christmas Carol and have a giant, creepy baby in the middle of the field.

Let me just remind you of when ET visited Los Angeles in 1984 :p
I can't believe I stayed in for this. I sat there waiting for something exciting to happen with the cauldron. Nothing.
We've all been very spoiled by Beijing.
