70 days to go, anyone else extremely excited?
Not extremely excited, but I always enjoy watching the Olympics. There are always lots of feel good stories. London should be a great location.
Things that really interest me:
Ussain Bolt
Things that are moderately interesting:
Michael Phelps' last Olympics
US vs Spain in basketball
Things that I will watch if I am bored:
Everything else
I don't really get up for the Olympics before hand. However, I do end up watching. My only hope is that NBC stays away from excessive use of tape delay this time around. Maybe they will finally realize there is this thing called the internet that offers results live...
I LOVE the Summer Olympics! My family goes crazy haha, we wear our USA flags, chant, and go crazy!
It's inspiring to watch great stories, and also root for our country!
Did you know the reason why marathons are 26 miles is because at the 1908 London Olympics the bosses wanted the race to start at Windsor Castle and end at the stadium, so they extended it from 25 to 26 miles and from then on it has been.
I'm excited for women's beach volleyball. I love me some Misty-May and Kerri Walsh.
Treanor for the win. For me, I'm interested in Swimming, Track and Field and thats about it.

I like the short individual swim events because they are all adrenaline from start to finish. I also like sports like fencing and badmitten just as a reminder that we could all theoretically be Olympians some day.
I always found fencing to be violent. Maybe if I was a Mensa student my opinion would change, lol.
You are over-thinking it, my friend. Fencing is the only sport that lets grown-ups still play pirates.

I'm with you there Yankee! Can't wait to watch those two. Of course I'll be rooting for US women's soccer too. I need to watch Hope Solo win the gold.
I guess I'm of the few that is excited, I already wrote on my car rooting for the U.S.
FYI 2012 Summer Olympics | Video, Schedules, Results, TV | NBC Olympics is running for anyone who may want info on the US Olympians mostly, and a few others, and will be the site from which you can view any event live on the internet.
I love watching the Olympics. I love watching the diving events because it amazes me how people jump from 10 meters and make little to no splash.
Funny. I was in the UK last time the Olympics took place, and now they are going to London.
The Olympic Torch came through my town today, everyone was out on the streets cheering, very exiting.
That's great. Hope you get to attend some of the events when they start.
We were right at the end of the relay so the torchbearer had stopped running, the officials took his flame and went off to the next town. The last picture is the guy being mobbed.
Your police cars are yellow? Wonder how many Americans try to flag them down thinking they are cabs LOL. Still, thanks for the pictures.
LMAO. I'm laughing my butt off at the guy being mobbed though. Was Howie there?

Yeah it was funny, luckily he managed to keep hold of his torch, those things are worth thousands on ebay.
U.S. tennis teams announced:
John Isner, Andy Roddick, Ryan Harrison, Donald Young
Mike Bryan/Bob Bryan, John Isner/Andy Roddick
Serena Williams, Christina McHale, Varvara Lepchenko, Venus Williams
Liezel Huber/Lisa Raymond, Serena Williams/Venus Williams
2 Mixed Doubles teams to be determined on site. I can't wait for the Olympics!!! Go USA!!!
I really don't like professional athletes competing in the Olympics. I know other countries do it, but I really wish the US still didn't allow it.
Well I believe it's 100% fair for professional athletes to join. If other countries allow them to enter, why can't the USA do the same? Don't punish the USA & our professional athletes, because the rest of the world can't compete with us, and we're dominate in sports (which is a fact, we have most Olympic Golds & medals, and the best players around the world join our leagues, and train in our facilities).
I watched the Dream Team documentary, and when the USA lost the Olympics before the team was created, it was 18-22 year old college students going up against professional, bigger, older men in basketball, how was that fair?
If other countries want to use their professional athletes, the USA should be allowed to do the same. The rest of the world needs to catch up if they have an issue with it.
