I just want to see two different teams in the final this year, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do make another Lakers and Boston final to break even and since Kobe is on one side and Shaq the other.
I don't watch basketball until the playoffs start. Maybe if they stop making it all about the Lakers and Celtics then I might watch more.
Are you serious? the Miami Heat have gotten more coverage this season than the Lakers and Celtics combined. They even have their own tab on espn.com called "the heat index" lol.

I saw that and started boycotting their NBA coverage, heh.
Miami doesn't have a strong bench yet. Since there is so much laying on them maybe they will put them in the finals with the Lakers. I would rather see Miami and San Antonio.

ESPN's coverage of the Heat is seriously ridiculous. For some reason they feel the need to put every game the Heat play on the top stories section the next morning.
There was some questionable officiating down the stretch in favor of the Celtics, but it was definitely a solid win. With Paul Pierce scoring a single point and shooting 0% from the field, the Heat should be disappointed they couldn't pull out a victory.

My favorite thing about it is when I, or anyone else, asks them about the need for Heat Index in chats given that the "Chase for 72" and the "'Bron Triple Double Counter" have been taken down they get SUPER defensive about it. They say that it's what the fans want, which given LeBron's current state in the media couldn't be further from the truth.

LeBron is like an ex-girlfriend for a lot of fans. They might "hate" him now, but they're still stalking his Facebook to see what's been going on.
Anybody see Rajon Rondo looking in on the Heat huddle? Lebron of course was freaking out, but it wasn't a time out so technically he wasn't doing anything wrong.

Fair point. I personally don't like the people that have just started disliking LeBron this past season. I've disliked the guy since very early in his career and was constantly yelled at for pointing out the guy's flaws, both on the court and the way he acts. It's funny how a lot of people who I talk to agree with me now.
Boston trading away Kendrick Perkins for Jeff Green? Where is the sense in that? Are they trying to make it easier for my Bulls?
They were not going to give Perkins 10+ million a year, so they traded him and got the best player of the deal in Jeff Green to keep.
And so just when, exactly, did Kendrick Perkins become Bill Russell? When did he become the indisputable X factor? When did he become the piece that would put the Celtics over the top, that would assure them of an 18th championship and another celebratory land-and-sea tour of Boston's historic neighborhoods?
Tell me: when?
The guy has only played 12 games this year at a clip of 26 minutes a game. Yet the Celtics still lead the Eastern Conference...
I feel sorry for all Boston Celtic fans!.
Oh, don't feel sorry. I'm well over last years loss and looking forward to picking up number 18 this June.

I don't think Kendrick Perkins is an irreplaceable player, but he was a solid center who could hang around with the dominant big men. The biggest advantage the Celtics had over the Heat and Bulls was having depth at C. I understand this move if they made it this summer, Jeff Green will definitely help them stay relevant when KG, Ray Allen, and Pierce retire, but for right now, this does nothing positive for them this season in my opinion. There is a big hole in Boston now at the 5 spot.
There is a big hole in Boston now at the 5 spot.
What I am saying is the guy had only played 50% of the time in 12 games this season and the Celtics seem to have done fine (i.e. second best record in all of basketball, leading the eastern conference.)
We can revisit this conversation in a couple of weeks when Perkins is back icing his knee and going to games in business attire. Of, never mind, that's right - he's already out again with a "mild strain" of his MCL for a week, maybe more...
In Ainge we trust! :D
I hate the trade, green is a good player, but perks was more than just a big body. Then you trade gody and semi stupid stupid stupid. Will not be able to compete against miami or chicago. Hopefully they can pull through, but I am scared.
I was pretty skocked my piittiful Cavs were able to get a first round pick for Mo Williams and Jamario Moon. It sucks they have to take on Baron Davis's big contract but they to build through the draft and they will have 2 lottery picks this year.

This is pretty crazy. Only 6 piston's players played tonight.

Wow, it sounds like there is a full on mutiny going on in Detroit.

A pure disgrace from a team that won a championship, a few years ago. Most of those guys won a championship. Pitiful!!! You expect more from pro athletes.

Completely agree. I understand if they are upset with their coach, but refusing to play is childish. I expect to see a coaching change coming in the next couple of days, unless the Pistons front office thinks they can win with 6 players....
This just ****** me off, I don't care if you don't like your coach, do your freaking job. If you don't want to go to shoot around then let someone who actually wants to play this great game, play it. Their is no way that the Pistons coach can keep his job now, it is pathetic.
Kendrick Perkins out 2-3 weeks with MCL sprain
Who would have seen that one coming? I mean, he has only missed 44 games thus far this season, what is another 6-10 games? (an optimistic number.)
I'll make sure to get back to everyone in 3 weeks with the latest news about how the sprain wasn't as mild as they first thought...
How could the Celtics make such a trade? It confounds me. Perkins is such a good cheerleader from the bench!
Meanwhile, the newly reshaped Celtics debut tonight against Blake Griffin and the Clippers with Nenad Krstic starting at center and Jeff Green in place to take the floor as needed to rest Pierce. :wink2:
If Troy Murphy gets bought out they're saying the odds are high that he'll be a Celtic, and I think Rasheed has said that he doesn't plan to come back...it was on the rumors section of ESPN a few days ago.
