People have conveniently selective memory about the Duel. TJ and the producers apparently had their own concepts of how that challenge was going to be won... and what new "stars" they would be foisting on the viewers. In hindsight, it didn't work out well at all and they should have just accepted the winners that the rest of the cast saw right in front of them. The only thing CT might have done differently is to laugh at the producers and refuse to give them more camera ****. That is what Beth did, but I could not fault CT for being upset.
Sorry I know there are certain events you have to be ambiguous about due to the nature of your position, but what does "new stars" refer to? CT and Brad were on back to back seasons of the Real World, and essentially (although Paris never dominated the social aspect) part of the same group of challengers that were meant to dominate the challenges during that period of time (ie. how X-Treme and San Diego were really the ones controlling the selections during the Duel)
Or is this referring more to Wes, who was lucky enough that the final two mens' safety challenges both took place in the water.
I just find it peculiar that production would favor any challenger over another, or at least would favor any between CT/Brad/Wes who I'm sure all had a pretty large fan base during the Duel.
I'm sorry, and I don't mean to be rude, but I never really understood why people get so riled up over who is the best and all that nonsense. It's really mostly a matter of opinion and personal preference. I could say I thought Casey was the strongest and it wouldn't matter, because it'd be my opinion. It would be a terrible opinion, but I just think it's kind of ridiculous. You can't really say who's the best unless you have one giant super challenge with all 100+ cast members and even then you probably wouldn't know.
I'm not saying it shouldn't be discussed, but more that I think it sometimes gets out of hand haha.
It's not an opinion when you base facts and use common sense. Casey IS a bad competitor, this is fact based on her performances on all her challenges. Most of you people scare me with this "opinion" nonsense. Analyze the challenges. It seems like you people are going off the top off your head....and that is where this "opinion" thing comes into play.

I think he was referring to Svetlana. Svetlana is the one who "beat" Beth and she was given an incredibly favorable edit on The Duel. I could be wrong but I think he is implying that they figured she would become a favorite and hopefully go on to win and/or compete in more challenges, to which she did neither.

Well then I guess I just don't really care about it. I'm not trying to "scare" you. I'm just saying that it's not like you can actually factually determine who is the best. You can use facts to back up your opinion, but I personally don't think you can really determine who is the best.
Honestly whats the point of analyzing the Challenges anyways, some certain cast member could be good at one thing, while another can be great on another, some can suck in one entire challenge and surprise in the other. Its not like the NBA where they all play the same sport and its easier to gauge who is best in that certain sport. Just stop over analyzing a reality game show, and enjoy it.

And we have a winner!
I like all the teams. I think they were divided well.
I like the Blue team because they have Katie, Jenn, Johnny, Derrick and Eric. I like the Red team because they have Brad, Tori, Camila (Who is growing on me), Brandon (who is also growing on me) and Dunbar (who is just funny). And they gray team has SHAVOUN!
I dont know what team I'm rooting for..they all have big positives and big negatives, mind you I like the weird bunch grey has together but Sarah and Laurel take that down a notch.
You know I was thinking, there is one thing BMP/MTV could do to spice up the show and it may even entice former vets to return..upping the prize money. Sure back in the early Challenges 150,000 was a lot of dough..and to some of us it still is, but other game shows on TV offer so much more cash as a prize, that maybe for one season as an experiement they should try upping it to the million that Survivor gives away. I doubt a million would be a ***** in the corporate empire of either company, and if it pulls in a better rating it could justify itself.
I have a question thats Vevmo/RW/RR/FM/Challenge related. Seeing as I'm still new to the site, when did this place become the hub for the Challenges, that even Cast Members, Families and friends of Cast Members post on?

The Island era, probably.

If I remember correctly Vevmo really started picking up steam around the airing of Sydney season. I visited all the old reality message boards like Tubescan and TWOP and I remember that specifically during the Sydney season people started to consistently mention Vevmo as a great place to contact cast members and get spoilers and all that good stuff. :)
Even though the next challenge isn't confirmed to be a Duel, most of our minds are going towards it.
Cast Speculation
how did you know all this?
This is just my speculation, it isn't right or anything. This is just the way I see the next Duel being.
Also, does anybody have some good challenge titles for upcoming seasons?
Here are some of mine:
1. The Battlegrounds (a individual challenge when the Duel series is over)
2. The Tropics (a version of Island with better rules and format)
3. The Abyss/The Chamber (a re-invention of the Inferno)
I thought Bronne wasn't gonna do a Challenge, something about the military or something? I read that somewhere...
He had planned on joining the Marines but I don't know if he did as I have not followed him since Cancun ended.
Not sure where to ask this---Do they get craft services during Challenges? Since they are often isolated from the outside world, I was just wondering wehre the food comes from and who cooks it. Every now and then I have seen them grilling on the show, but was wondering how they do it in places like Prague.
I have a smiliar question especially when it came to the island, how do they do about cigarettes cause a lot of the cast members smoke, and it seemed cigarrettes werent an issue on the island.
They get catered food. Production brings them 3 meals a day, plus snacks (chips, pretzels ect...). As for cigarettes, the cast members who smoke bring a few cartons.
It was weird seeing the cast this season go to that show/odd event because we never see them outside the house anymore. I miss the pre-Duel days where they got to go clubbing and what not, so much drama when I think of them at bars/clubs, thank you Jodi.
