I feel like it has to be physical. They are competing for a lot of money. I don't think they should just compete in silly missions to win like $50,000. Even shows like "WipeOut" have physically demanding stuff lol. I don't think every challenge should be very physical, like on survivor. However I rather see more physical mission rather than silly ones because the physical ones get more interesting. It also depends though on the teams or concept. If one team was much weaker in strength then yes, physical missions would be boring because one team would dominate. In my opinion though, physical missions are a must.
True, they definitely should be physical. But I don't want them to be suffering...like in the last episode of Fresh Meat 2 when Landon's partner was so out of it during exile, she didnt even know where she was and even who she was. It wasn't even the final mission too!
The Ion Life Saver was meant to be used in advance. Otherwise, the game would've been too predictable.
But according to Melissa (her blog), Veronica still could've been saved. Some people were complaining to production about Veronica not being saved and production was VERY close to letting it slide and letting Veronica stay....BUT they found it would make better TV to have Veronica leave and have it go Emily's way.
Melissa quit complaining after production told her they would treat her to McDonalds...LOL. She went to prove a point that production would break rules as long as it would make good TV.
The Gauntlet- Alton sparring Coral and sending in Theo to the gauntlet. This is what made them lose the final challenge with Coral's spider bite.
Battle of the Sexes 2- Not getting rid of Arissa lol. The whole girl team was just going on personal basis for who they would get rid of and once again they ultimately lost like the first time.
The Gauntlet: I know Sarah's run was improbable, and she took out so many good competitors, but we can't know for certain that she would have beaten Coral. There is an alternate scenario where Coral takes out Sarah thus, Coral still gets bitten by that spider and the Road Rules team is even faster in the final. Regardless, it was unfair that Theo went instead of Coral though.
BOTSexes2: The problem is, no matter how many should haves could haves, the outcome would be the same. The error with this challenge is just the format: ridiculously one sided.
other challenges:
Inferno 2: The bad*** men not sticking to their guns and throwing in Jaime in the last Inferno, thereby keeping Shavonda for the final mission, evening out the playing field for weak competitors. They feared the girls would throw the final if they weren't given their choice of Inferno partner, but no matter how much it gets brought up, has a final challenge ever been thrown? The result was that the bad ***** whittled down the Good Guys into a foursome of Landon, Darrell, TheMiz, and Jaime, who in turned smoked a really good team that a had a few weak links. Maybe this challenge is what made CT **** bent on trimming the fat for the Gauntlet 3.
the Duel: People who had the option to call in Jodi and chose not to. Not saying it was a guaranteed victory, but her meltdown in the Inferno 2 should have warranted someone attempting to get her out before the final challenge. That's why CT had a target on his back near the end, but people let Jodi coast by way too long before she started snatching up all the safeties at the end. Especially in a all or nothing final challenge, why even bother not going for the top dog.
Inferno 3: You can't convince me that Alton/Ace/Timmy weren't throwing that mission. For what reason I'll never know, but you have three guys that on numerous occasions donned speedos for challenges and had a blast, all of a sudden they were too shy/modest/embarrassed/moral to do it? Timmy even doing the Smash House challenge, now he'll never compete again :(. CT punching Davis, he probably would have won the whole thing.
Gauntlet 3: Not taking out Eric. Though if I was in that situation knowing what the Gauntlets were and knowing that three of them severely favored Eric's weight advantage, I'm not sure I would have been courageous enough to go in against him either with only a one in four chance of sliders.
The Island: Johnny taking his key back from Evelyn instead of anybody else. They should have seen the twist coming and known the final face off would have been between all remaining participants without a key, I mean I did as soon as that season reached it's halfway point. The smarter thing to me would have been to leave her with a key and take someone like Robin's or Jenn's key, leaving Johanna and Dan with even better chances of getting their own keys.
Duel 2: Landon leaving the room! Name out of a hat would have been the fairest, but they agreed on secret ballot and he let himself get screwed. You could also see it as the best thing Evan did that challenge though.
The Ruins: Challengers not sending in Casey when they had the chance. Ultimately wouldn't have changed anything though, there really wasn't any scenario where the champions weren't gonna win.

I agree. They shouldn't try to do damage to the cast. Some of these missions seem too taxing. Physical missions have been done in the past and have been less strenuous.
I thought it was supposed to be a challenge? If it isn't testing you physically/ mentality then pretty much they failed at the creation of the challenge. Remember that these were designed to be done for people who actually were in physical shape before you do a challenge they do ask your capibilities and if you can't do it then maybe they should skip the challenge setting.

That doesn't mean that EVERY single challenge has to be physical though. I liked the challenges better when the missions were more fun because you could tell the cast was enjoying themselves. It doesn't seem like many people who do challenges now have as much fun, but maybe I'm wrong on that.
I haven't really enjoyed the missions in recent seasons. The last challenge where I thought the missions were cool and interesting to watch was Inferno 3. All of the challenges don't have to require physical strength but should require skill and some sort of mental concentration. I feel like recently each challenge is the same. Lifting heavy objects, climbing over water, swimming in the water, etc..
I would also like to see a challenge where castmembers VOTE OFF one another instead of competing in elimination rounds. I would much rather see people back stab and manipulate everyone to stay in the game than put themselves through pain in a Gauntlet or Inferno for two minutes.
the Island was ok..........
Please tell me you're joking. I'd say well over two thirds of the regular posters here consider the Island to be the worst Challenge ever.

hahaha...The Island was not bad...i'd actually like to see it again...especially with this cast!! ****:)
I don't think the Island was as terrible as everyone says it is...why does everyone think it's the worst challenge ever? I thought Gauntlet 3 was way worse than the Island.

well me personally was because I rather have eliminations rounds than vote offs and actual challenges at that......but that's just me

I thought the format was very unique, and that's what I liked; a change. Obviously the format needed tweaking but it was such a unique format and I haven't seen any other reality shows with formats even resembling it (besides Survivor, with the whole not eating a lot of food and stuff)
Yeaah, I actually enjoyed watching the Island. It just seemed very unorganized. Like it seemed about half way through the season they were like Uh. . . how are we going to eliminate all these people. If they had like more of a survivor type format it could've been cool. But I did think that the challenge itself was enjoyable to watch.
Yah they should have just blatantly copied the Survivor format completely. Not half-*ssed it.
I tried to re-watch the Island recently, and it took me SO long to get through, I kept finding other things to do like housework to procrastinate from watching. It was really bad.
....I'm assuming you havent seen challenges like the Inferno 1 and before.
I have but I like the newer challenges because I am familiar with the newer castmembers
I actually really like the Island for some reason. I guess if you get invested in Ev going against the main alliance and winning then it tells a pretty story. It's not my favorite challenge by far, but I prefer it to a lot of fan favorite challenges like G1/Inferno1/BOTSexes1.
