The double death would be more of an OMG moment than cliffhanger. That's why in the interview Julie Plec rephrased the cliffhangers and said 9 OMG moments.

Wow just wow what an episode! Isobel really does care about Alaric and Elena, but doesn't want the vampire life for them. So she wants Stefan and Damon dead along with the tomb vampires. She works for Katherine. JG got the device which he supposed to kill vampires with. Bonnie was supposed to do a spell to stop it, but she lied to Elena because her Grams would never want to do the spell. I guess Bonnie doesn't like vamps too. It obvious that Damon is in love with Elena...oh and Elena's dad is John Gilbert!!! So she is a Gilbert after all!
Stefan is off the market for good.

This makes me a little sad... but at least Ian is still single... right? :)
Ian has a girlfriend...
I rewatched the finale a few times, and realized that this was a great show. It is my favorite episode along with "Lost Girls" and "Fool Me Once". I think the reason it was predictable to me was because I read alot of spoilers and speculation. Other people who did not watch promos, read spoilers and speculation, however were surprised and shocked. I thank the producers for giving us such a great first season.
Lost girls is actually my favorite episode.
Oh and Ian having a girlfriend doesn't mean anything, he's not married yet. ;).
Amen!
Paul Wesley actually isn't married. Had this discussion yesterday and found out his representative confirmed it.
Ex-Trauma EMT Taylor Kinney is joining the cast of Vampire Diaries in the recurring role of Mason Lockwood, younger brother of late Mayor Lockwood, sources confirm.
Described as Tyler’s (Michael Trevino) “cool” uncle, Mason is sexy and athletic (duh) and possesses an easygoing charm. Though he has more control than his nephew, he can “flip in an instant” if crossed.
Kinney will make his first appearance in Diaries’ second-season premiere on Sept. 9.

In this episode, Damon, Elena and Alaric take a trip to Duke University to look at Isobel's research. (Comic con interviews with cast and crew)
The Vampire Diaries is introducing some fresh blood for Damon.
Sources confirm to me exclusively that Courtney Ford — a.k.a. Trinity’s daughter on Dexter — has landed the potentially recurring role of Vanessa, a grad student at Duke who helps Damon, Alaric and Elena go through Isobel’s old research.
At Comic-Con last month, exec producer Kevin Williamson hinted that the character may be harboring a secret or two. “She’s not without her own intrigue,” he told me. “It’ll be a nice little part for someone. And it’s a part that could evolve into this massive storyline or we could gut her like a fish.”
God bless Kevin Williamson and his awesome sound bites.

A casting call for episode 3 says there's another new character. Aimee, 17, who might be possible competition for Caroline. In this episode there's a pool party and Aimee flirts with Matt...
Looks like we are up for big things in season 2!:D
The premiere was SO good. I'm going to try and give my opinions on everything.
I've never been more in love with Ian Somerhalder and I will forever be a Damon fan. Damon and Elena forever!!!
I'm liking having Katherine in the picture for some reason. I thought I wouldn't like her, but the way she interacted with Stefan got to me. There was so much chemistry there even though he claims he hates her. I've decided to root for them to end up together, although I'm guessing it won't happen.
The whole Tyler story should be interesting. I'm very curious where they are going with that. Also, the new uncle, yummy is all I can say. Although the gap in his teeth bugs me just a little.
Caroline will also be an interesting story line based on what happened tonight. I'm thinking she'll somehow get with Damon a few times at least, which I don't want to happen.
Jeremy is awesome and I still love his character. I'm also partial to the actor that plays him (Steven R. McQueen) because we have the same birthday.
This is definitely going to be a great season.
I'm confused by the finale.
Why did Jeremy see Anna and Vicky?

Me and my friends were talking about this and aren't quite sure, but we think it's part of the consequences that Bonnie said would happen if she saved Jeremy from dying. As much as I dont' really like Vicky at all, it is definitely going to be interesting to see what actually happens with her and Anna.
Aah. I think you're right. I bet they're going to torment him. Perhaps he will also see Jenna. I'm sooo sad she's gone. I can't believe they killed her.
Also, as a sort of aside, I just want to say that I LOVE LOVE the fact that Michael Trevino (Tyler) is dating Glee's Jenna Ushcowitz (Tina).
I think they are doing the angle that Jeremy is neither alive nor dead, but rather walking in between those two worlds - I don't know the English word for it, but I know there is one :) Either they will try to help him with dangerous situations, warning him and his friends, etc, or they might be angry about his relationship with Bonnie, but that's only speculation.

I wasn't too sad that they killed off Jenna, just more so the fact that she finally knew they were all vampires and then they killed her off. That story line was getting interesting. I do hope they bring Jenna back and she's going to keep Jeremy sane.

That's another possibility. I like the idea of that, but I would really prefer Jeremy alive. They can't just keep killing off main characters right? ;) I do like your theory though and can't really wait to see it play out.

Actually, something like that happened to Elena in the book series. She came back to life and was this weird ghost/human hybrid for awhile. I never even considered that for Jeremy.. but I bet that's what they're going to do.

Then I guess that's probably the best possibility at the moment. I'm starting to wish they hadn't ended on this part because I'm impatient and can't stand to wait until next season. I just want to know!!!

I know. It won't be back for like 3 or 4 months!!!
