The Vampire Diaries

It’s Elena’s first day back at Mystic Falls High School since the tragic death of her parents. Along with her Aunt Jenna, Elena tries her best to look after her troubled younger brother, Jeremy, and salvage what family they have left. The first day is already shaping up to be a struggle for Elena until she meets the mysterious new kid at school, Stefan. Elena is touched that he can relate to what she’s going through. What Elena doesn’t know is that Stefan is a vampire, constantly resisting the urge to taste her blood. As their undeniable connection grows deeper, Stefan’s dangerous older brother, Damon, shows up to wreak havoc on the town of Mystic Falls - and claim Elena for himself.
Last night's episode was the best so far! Vicki has been annoying since day one maybe she will finally have a purpose, shocking when Damon broke her neck. Damon is so different than Stefan, I am really looking forward to more of their family history. There was so much in this episode, I am watching it again. Also many people are saying this is a rip off of Twilight, for the record these books were written almost 10 years before Twilight.

Yeah I am really enjoying this show, but I want to read the books, I feel like it will make more sense if I do. I like Viki for some reason...I am anxious to see how she reacts to being a vampire next week.

I loveee this show. So much better than twilight, but not true blood. I can't get enough!! I love when they were dancing Damon's house last night and Vicki said something like "Your so hot" and he was like "I know." The way he said it was so hilarious. Is it bad that I like Damon more than Stefan? LOL

From what I have read New Moon is going to blow Twilight out of the water...I liked Twilight okay when it first came out but now going back and looking at it makes me realize that it could have been a thousand times better.

New Moon looks amazing and that was my least favorite book.

I was really disapointed that it was a repeat last week, because I really want to see how Vicki is as a vampire. So I took the time to catch up on this season since I had missed a couple of episodes. Man, Paul Wesley who plays Stefan is a really good looking man. We need some more shirtless scenes from him and Ian Somerhalder. I am also very curious to see more about Bonnie's witch abilities, and how this plays out with the rest of their characters. On another note this whole time I have been staring at Elena, thinking man she reminds me of somebody. Then it hit me she looks just like a young Terri Hatcher.

You should! I liked the first 4. I can't seem to get through the last one. It's a little far fetched for me. Stacee!! Did you ever get those books?!?

Just found out that Ian Solmerhalder played one of the guys who killed Matthew Shepard in the Matthew Shepard movie...that kind of gives me the creeps.
Such a good episode last night! Vicki being a vampire was a good storyline, but with all her problems, somehow you knew it was not going to end well. I cannot believe she bit Elena, I thought for sure it would be Jeremy. Speaking of Jeremy my heart went out to him so much at the end of the episode, first his parents, and now the girl he cares about. I also felt bad for Matt, poor guy just trying to look out for his kid sister. I wonder if he will ever find out what truly happened to her. Stefan staking Vicki was an OMG scene! I was surprised he didn't just yank her off of Elena. Damon~ I love his character, and you can see that they are trying to give him one shred of humanity left. When he told Elena " your wounds are bleeding, you NEED TO LEAVE" I was surprised. I knew he would show up when Stefan was explaining to Elena that it would not work right if he wiped out Jeremy's mind. So Damon to the rescue, which also shocked me, because he is the one who caused this whole mess to begin with. So the question is, did he do this for Elena? Or did he do this with some kind of ulterior motive?
I think that Matt will start telling the town Stefan had something to do with it because how he was all like 'STAY AWAY FROM MY SISTER!' And I don't know why But I have a feeling other Vampires are gonna come soon.. Either new ones or old ones. And I don't get why Elena was saying she loves Stefan Because when you think about it they hardly have any time together ALONE. Something always comes up. I wish they could have Twilight Love Scenes but Keep there original Killing people scenes.
They are playin this out really well. The books are somewhat good and I knew kevin Williamson would do a good job as he did for dawson's Creek. I was really surprised when they chose the girl from degrassi to play the female lead as she looks completely opposite of the way the book potrayed here i.e. in the book they made her have blonde hair and blue eyes to convey innocence. I hope this show stays on because there are allot of great plot twists to come.
As a side note as you are talking about Twilight i thought I would bring up the movie that came out last week by Darren Stan called Cirque De Freak. This in my opinion wasn't executed well as they took random parts from somethe 12 books (yes 12) and put them in the movie. I know it was supposed to be based on the 1st 3 books but Steve doesn't get bloodied in the 1st 3 books. As well as this they executed the movie very slopplily and didn't give justice to these pretty good books, I just hope the next movie will be executed better.
So the question is, did he do this for Elena? Or did he do this with some kind of ulterior motive?
Well.. I read the book. So, I think I have a pretty good grip on the characters. However, this whole Vicki thing has thrown me for a loop. That is not at all how it happens originally. I think Damon isn't as bad as he comes across. I think he too is fighting the dark side. That's why he doesn't usually kill people. I believe he helped Jeremy because he honestly feels bad for what he did. He blames himself for Vicki. So far, the series has been very different from the books. side note: Elena is starting to annoy me.

I'm gonna miss Vicki, she had great chemistry with the brothers, she was kind like the annoying little sister that your parents made you keep an eye on. And Ian Somerhalder continues to rock. BTW, they really need to stop killing people off because there is no doubt in my mind that this show is going to have a second season, and by the time the finale rolls around, there will only be three characters left.

I like all the characters. I want to see more from Bonnie and Caroline. Elena needs to stop whining so much. Stefan needs to soften up a bit. It looks like he may do that next week though. I think Damon is spot on. I'm also very interested in seeing where Jeremys character goes. There is no Jeremy in the books. Elena has a toddler sister. I wish the series had a Meredith. She is Elena's other best friend. I guess TV Bonnie is supposed to be a combo of book Bonnie and Meredith. I guess I can sort of see that. I'd prefer two seperate characters though. I can't wait to watch this show expand.

I'm not sure why. I guess the reason I don't like Jeremy is because he wasn't in the books.

I actually kind of like Jeremy. He is a great actor. (and the grandson of the famous Steve McQueen.) I believe Ty is going to be a very interesting person to watch. Michael Trevino is adorable.

He said not to get to close to any of the characters because they will all die.
I just read an interview from the head writer of the show I will try to find it. Either way, if that happens, this show will probably be lame.
Actress Kayla Ewell has featured quite prominently in the show's first six episodes, but Williamson told us that he needed a sacrificial lamb to make sure his audience knows that nobody is ever safe in Mystic Falls. "You know, I've killed all the supporting people I want to," laughed Williamson, insisting it was time to take out a more sizable star. "I want the show to have an unpredictable quality to it, and I think that's going to come now and the audience will realize I will kill them — we will kill the main characters. This is a show that will go there."
Link

Well I don't think he will be killing Elena, Damon, or Stefan. It wouldn't be a show without them. Who are the other main characters? I don't see them killing Bonnie anytime soon, we still have a lot of her story to explore and Caroline is a supporting character right? The only people I could see them killing are the people on the vampire council but they aren't main characters either.
