It was me! :-)
He sparked an argument on here with some mods, and he looks like Obama. For that reason, he gets 2 thumbs up from me.

You call that an argument? I can show you an argument...
As for his looks, I'm going to respectfully not comment.

Honey, that's the most action this particular thread has gotten in a while. lol.
As for an argument, I welcome one. In fact, I started an argument with someone at the open casting call last weekend; it was funny. I have a good time messing around with people.
Have you ever considered a career in forum moderation? ;)
lol -- uh, yea...but I'm not cool enough...I mean -- you guys set such a high standard. ;-)
no, that's not the way "things are done in Texas"
I love Texas. I was just giving a locational call out to our drive by friend. ;)
I feel as if a huge portion of that argument was missing.
Seeing as how votes were mentioned, as well as a Texas reference, and yet I see nothing of it in past pages. :p haha
Thanks guys for the help. I decided to just go in there and be me. If they like it good, and if they don't oh well life moves on. I always decided not to go on the casting calls last minute, because I use to hate being judge, but in life you will be judge 24/7! I do have a story to tell (well many), and it's time to share it with the world even if it hurts me still inside. This is going to be an amazing experience I could tell. Good luck to everyone trying.
So I received the VIP e-mail. I want to know what I'm supposed to expect!!! Also, it didn't say what to bring in the e-mail. Any idea? I'm SO pumped. I go tomorrow!!

I'm pretty sure you have to print out the VIP pass that was attached, and a photo I.D.
Make sure you reply to the e-mail stating your name, that you are indeed going, and to which casting call you're attending.
I believe this is all that is required.
I go tomorrow as well. I'm excited!
Read the email, it'll tell you what to take and everything you need to do. Reply to the email stating your name, the name of the friend you are taking if any, and print out the pass. To the casting take a photo of yourself, the pass, and a photo id. When I went they said we didn't even need a photo of ourselves but it was good if we brought one, and they never asked to see my photo id.
I got a VIP pass to attend the Dallas audition at Plush on April 17, 2010 and I have already RSVP. I'm very excited, but nervous at the same time!! I know you can't really prepare for these things because you need to be yourself, which is no problem for me, but are there any general tips that I need to know besides taking the VIP pass, a recent photo, and my I.D.?
There's tons of tips throughout every page of this thread and other threads like this one http://vevmo.com/f246/real-world-casting-secrets-revealed-2299/
lol there's newbies who sign up and ask the same questions every single day
Reading all of this Real World casting info scares me!! Im excited about the audition, but I hope I at least make it past the 1st round. It seems as though based on info i have been reading, that might not happen. =(
Does anyone know how long until they will contact you about round 3? Or AFTER you fill out that long packet? I filled it out this weekend and am just wondering when or IF I should hear something back.
I went to a casting call last week and I mainly went because I thought that I'd meet some interesting people and have a good time regardless of whether I advanced to the next round (I'm not saying that I really didn't want to advance). I got there and was trying to make conversation with people waiting in line because it looked like most people came by themselves. Most people weren't very talkative, but I ended up meeting a girl that was pretty cool and we talked for the hour and a half while we were waiting.
I got called back with a group of 9 others and the BM associate asked us to tell him our name, age, where we are from and one interesting thing about ourselves. Right away, everyone tried to say as much as possible. Nearly everyone beside myself said at least two things and many people said three or more things. Most people also felt the need to tell a story about their name. For example, someone said something like, "My name is Tyler Alexander O'neil. My friends call me Alex -- my middle name -- and the ladies call me daddy." I think only two people and myself gave their name without a story.
The BM associate then asked us what we thought about a recent event. Immediately, everyone tried to get the first word. A few people continued to try to get out a sentence at the same time until eventually one person just kept talking and everyone else stopped. From this point on, no lie, the same person rambled for, I would guess, 5 minutes. The BM associate then asked if anyone was passive aggressive. The exact same thing happened. The BM associate then asked if anyone had any sex stories. This time, two people managed to squeeze in a sentence and then the same person started talking again. Finally, the BM associate asked us each individually to give one word to describe ourselves and then leave. Again, everyone beside me and one other person took that chance to try and tell a story.
When the groups came out that were before me, they were all complaining that almost the exact same thing happened to them. I talked to a girl in line that said she came last year and the same thing happened to her and my friend that I talked to before I decided to try out said it was a waste of time and the same thing happened to her. So, is this pretty much how the casting calls are everywhere or is this just a poorly run casting call? I'm thinking they are pretty much always like this considering someone said it was like this the year before and someone said it was like that the year before in a different city.
I really wanted to be on the show, but, if this is how BM runs casting, I have a feeling the show wouldn't be half the experience I assumed it would. So, if this is how the casting calls usually work, I just want to know, because I'm not going to waste my time trying out again.
It really sucked because the BM associate asked a couple questions about me when it was my turn to introduce myself, so I know he was interested from the start (he didn't ask anyone else a question). And then, when we were leaving, he told me that my word was really good and he hadn't heard it yet and he thanked me for coming, which he didn't thank anyone else. So, I feel like I could have made it in a different group, but I feel like every group is pretty much the same way.

I think that if you sent in a Tape, you would have truly got to shine. I think that during a tape, you can share more personal details about yourself. My sister sent one in a year back and got called a WEEK after. She bascily exposed her soul, and even cried. i guess that in a video, you can go "all out" , or just sit the cam down, and be real.

I thought about sending a tape in, but don't they just send you a VIP pass to the casting call if they like you?
My casting was completely different from yours. I had a great group of people and we all talked as we were waiting in the lobby to go into the casting room. When we got in there we all answered the questions she asked and even talked with each other about their answers. Everyone got a chance to answer every question and got to say whatever they wanted. One girl cut in on me once but it's because I stopped talking cause I forgot what I was going to say, but then she looked at me and was like "oh I'm sorry did I cut you off?" and I just said no and let her finish cause it was no big.
