Im trying out again this year in Detroit for the 2nd time, this time I'll be 21 so I have a better shot at making it.And also to everybody who hasnt tried out yet, making yourself stand out does not mean they will want you,I know this because I tried out and even got called back for a additional 30 minutes but i did everything I could to stand out and I think it made me come off as fake and a confrontational person,so this time Im going to go in and be 100% myself, and let them see the true me,not just the egotistical,villian-esque person i portrayed myself as last time lol.
..then you should make it..
cause that's usually who makes the show.

So I hope the location you listed isn't your actual location, since it's rather distinct and all. :D
Ugh i was hoping they didn't have an audition near me but they have one in Chicago so no I have to go lol. I emailed them like in feb and i didn't get a response, yet i made it to semifinals last year...*** BunimMurray! lol. Anyways....good luck all.
So I went to the open casting today. I had a vip pass so I didn't have to wait outside forever. Thank god, cause I would not have done that. We filled out some questions prior to going into the room. Then when we went in the casting director just asked a few questions for us to go around the table and answer. After like the fourth question they said we could go and we'd hear back in a few days if we were moving on. No one from my group got a packet with more questions, does that mean none of us are going to the next stage?

Of course, I was at a casting call within the past few weekends, all groups entered with 10 people and exited with 10 people. And I saw no one exit with a packet. So I believe it depends on the space the casting call was in, the volume of people at the casting call, and the general preference for the casting director on how they wanted to handle callbacks.
Now as the group was leaving...I saw the Casting Director begin to seperate the forms into 2 stacks (most likely the call back and do not call back list). So I would say, just give it a few days and see what happens.
Other notes - the survey packet that everyone has to fill out is the exact same on that everyone had to fill out for DC. And I will tell you that RW25, will yet again, be a season where everyone on the show pursues their own individual careers as opposed to a group job.
Lastly, I want to say that there were FAR LESS people in line than I have experienced in prior years...which probably reflects the shows dying popularity. In fact, the VIP line was often MUCH longer than the other line.
What all of this tells me is that they are probably tweaking their casting process a little to cast a wider net in the beginning and review details of each person more closely before bringing them back. That's a good change if that is what they are doing as it means they are being more critical of each candidate and trying to begin finding good matches early on.
I had a friend go, and he said that they would call you that night by 9 for a call back the next day. He also said that when the cast director thanked them for coming, hinting to get up and leave, she asked three people to stay for other questions. A couple that was together for four years, and some 19 year old girl. hmmmm is Real World looking for a couple to be on the show?
Does anybody know what general questions they ask during group interviews.
I'm wondering the same.
Also, It's kind of nerve wracking knowing that some casting calls hold some people back for "another question", while others don't hold anyone back at all.
Makes it harder to determine whether or not I have to wait around my phone, as opposed to knowing that I didn't meet their requirements when they don't ask me to stay back for "another question." haha. :p
Also, I saw on Twitter the other day that as long as you're 18 by July you're good to audition. Thought it would be nice to let everyone know.

It's different with each casting director.
For everyone on this board, you can't prepare for these things...this is my advice...learn you life story...learn who you are and what you want to tell BMP. That's it. If you don't get a call back...so what? Stop trying to over prepare because it's going to come across fake when you get there.
You can't memorize answers to these questions -- as they aren't looking for your answers, they are looking to see HOW YOU INTERACT WITH THE OTHER PEOPLE AT YOUR TABLE.

Just go to the casting call and see what happens. If you don't get a phone call within 2 to 3 weeks then you weren't a fit. Move on and try again next time.
And I'm sorry if I'm starting to be brash with people on here...but the process is outlined CLEARLY in several casting threads...read through those threads so you have some knowledge of the process...but that's all you need to do. You can't learn a script to get through the casting process. So stop trying to do so.
I've never posted before and I'm probably never going to post again, but STOP trying to figure out the casting process. Some of us are just more interesting than others and casting directors notice that and our awesome personalities. The Real World would suck if 75% of the people on here were to be cast, because so many are trying to be fake in the process. Just be real, that is honestly the best advice I was given and it's the best advice I can give.
With that being said, good luck to those trying out! Maybe a couple people here will be roommates starting this summer :)

Exactly. It's one thing if people come on here to learn about the casting process so they can know what the expect. But so many people on here are wanting advice on what to say so they can try to get in.
People just need to go to a casting call and see what happens.
After filling out the thicker packet if they say you'll get a call for an interview the next day and you don't get called is it basically over or what? Why bother having someone stay behind and fill out all that **** just to not call?

Cameron,
I think you are missing the larger point. This is about trying to be the bigger you. Trying to be famous. With the wellspring of reality television, it is a dream for many people to be cast and while it might rival the lottery as for odds of actually making a show, people enjoy talking about it. It is not for you to stomp their dreams or dissuade their interactions.
No puppies are being killed in the conversations in these threads, and I also know for a fact that at least one person has been helped by them. Yes, the threads on Vevmo.
You came here and passed judgment. That might be how they do things in Texas, but I think we'd be better off doing away with posters that think they know everything, rather than retarding the level of conversation, in what is a fun and entertaining discussion.
It is not for you to decide how viable others are for reality shows. If it was, you'd either be on one, or selecting those that do get on series. If it was the latter, you wouldn't be here and if it was the former, I would have heard of you.
Sincerely,
~bacchus

I Love this respone,100% true,People have and can be helped by these threads and Im one of them.
Wow, I was not shattering dreams. I was merely stating that other posters are requesting information as to how to manipulate a casting for a reality show. It was my understanding, after reading a few posts, that many members here are not pleased with recent seasons of the real world. My two cents was meant to do nothing more than encourage those trying out to be REAL. in the end that is the best thing to do.
I also believe that if anything ******** the conversation here it would have to be a tie between your innability to comprehend my previous statement, your poor usage of spelling, grammar & mechanics, and the fact that your previous statement was just as disparraging as you say my statement was. Let's all just be friends. Didn't you see that I also said good luck?
Selective reading is no bueno.

Ahem...
inability*
disparaging*
Not to mention, I've read Bacchus' response twice now and have yet to see any words misspelled or a misuse of grammar.
Out of respect for those that I may have potentially offended here, I will do as the administrator said and leave this site. Good luck to those that are trying out, and like I've said in my two other posts, KEEP IT REAL.

I see "killed", but I guess I can give it to you...after all, you do have such an awesome personality ;)
Wow...that all happened fairly quickly.
Obviously, I enjoy the conversation about the casting process, and I enjoy the large number of private messages I get each week asking me questions about the process.
I just wish people would focus the conversations around "how do I show the casting directors that I'm unique" rather than "what do I need to say to get noticed."
