Hi - never posted here before but have been reading since hearing the real world is being filmed about 3 blocks from my house.
Went to the russia house (one block from house) tonight about midnight for some martinis. had to pass the house on the way there and there was definite noise inside and the lights glowed through the windows like a movie set. Sounded like a solid party. Either its the pre-move in party or the cast has moved in. No sign they had moved in though other than the noise (and the big crane outside ready to film...).

Welcome to Vemvo and thanks for the info!
Hey guys, I meant to make this post ahile ago but I never got around to uploading until now. Last Thursday I brought along (or forced :wink2: ) a friend to come visit the RW house with me. I knew that it was pretty close to my moms job but I had no idea it was just two blocks away! I must have passed that house a dozen times without even realizing it. So of course I had to take pictures! hehe.
Top of the house.

In the back you can kind of see the legs of this guy, I am not too sure what he was doing but he was kind of tinkering around the entrance the entire time we were there. It was funny, the guy who took our picture was a passerby who asked us if we were the one's moving in! hahaha. In my dreams.
Hey guys, I meant to make this post ahile ago but I never got around to uploading until now.
Great photos! Thanks for taking the time to upload them and share with us. It seems like The Real World House is a much cooler place to snap a memento then say, the Washington Monument or The White House, lol. :D
You both are very welcome!
Hehe, and yes its much more interesting to visit there than any of the momuments, but maybe thats because I'm so used to being around them. ;)
Is today the big day?
I have a feeling today is the day, but don't have any specific intel beyond what we have gone over in this thread.
I'm sure someone will stop by the house and give us an update. :D
I have never been so excited for a season since Denver (dah). The George Washington University is my Alma Mater. Love the city, know it well. The roommates must be in before Friday. July 4th weekend in DC is insane.
V1 I await an invitation. Is the San Souci restaurant still there?

Has there ever been guards in front of the house? Do you think there will be the whole entire time they film?
they better be in by the 4th. July in DC is crazy awesome!
I have a good feeling that it has been the plan all along to get them into the house so that they could start rolling with July 4th footage. A great way to open the season. Fireworks in the first episode (literally.)
I wonder who they cast....like what type of characters do they have. I'm expecting someone who has problems with Obama as president, because he's African American, an extreme liberal, an extreme conservative LOL, and probably someone who is homosexual, and has issues with prop-8.
Glad to hear that today's the day :) I'm excited for this season I think it's going to be something different.
It sucks that they have to move in on a day that it rains
Not to go off topic, but try having it rain almost every day for the past 3 weeks. The weather here has been horrible. But I do agree it seems as if the move in day is has always been sunny (on the seasons I've watched at least).

It was raining in Brooklyn, Baya was soaked.
For some reason I just want to see what the cast looks like LOL. This will be interesting. If the premiere is on January, then there is a chance I might miss the whole season :-(....hopefully it will still be up on MTV...DC looks promising and different.
We received this Tip from an individual that we know personally:
12:44PM TUESDAY, JUNE 30:
(IDENTITY REMOVED) @realworlddcnewz random SUV and two identical sedans standing at the loading/unloading zone at Reagan w/o being shooed away...real world??
This was followed up by a tip from somebody familiar with the airport, who believed they may have seen "what didn't look like the normal setup when [NBC] does [Today Show] segments here.
The Tweet from the airport read:
Hello All
I was writing this post below when the above Breaking News developed.
Several things: I have been feverishly working my sources today. This morning at 2:30 AM (when I arrived home from travel) I drop past the Real World House along the way to check to see what, if anything changed.
Major Change: Two tall, stocky--thick--men were essentially camped out on the sidewalk immediately outside the front door on S Street, NW. The assumption is that they are "security" and have replaced that interns that sat in the doorway to maintain a closed front door as production and contractors walked in-and-out of the house.
Many people have been talking about how the light radiates eerily from within the house when the studio lighting is on. Remember, they don't live in a home - they live in a TV studio.
Area shops and restaurants are reporting a noticable uptick in "people with secret service earpieces."
A source shared with me some information that the cast was put on "standby" by the coordinator for their travel. Essentially hinting at a "go-date" of 6/29 or 6/30 to possibly attempt to avoid crowds and additional attention.

I guess I wont be going down to dupont circle to view everything today!
I really hope that there arent alot of people and news reporters that know about this today.
I fully agree. Only "Vevmo certified" [strike]stalkers[/strike] Real World enthusiasts should be on the sidewalk snapping stills. :D
