Geez, haven't you guys seen Star Wars?
These are actually the droids you're looking for! You fell for the [strike]Jonathan Murray[/strike] Jedi mind trick.
I was just mocking the fact that the cat is out of the bag on this production assistant position and they have been fumbling around all day, first to change it to members only and then to remove the post (as if to make it disappear) even after it is now out in the public realm.
Looks like the production schedule will run from June 1st through November (in line with what I have heard previously.) That doesn't mean "filming" per say.
Okay. I was about to say that is 6 months.
A June 27th through October 1st locational filming schedule in the cards?

This would fit the start date that I heard on the grapevine (as reported in the first post) and also fits the length that the series has been filming the last few seasons.
I had an enjoyable conversation earlier today with a columnist for a leading national newspaper. We talked for 20 minutes about TRW: DC
She now has context for how the show is cast and produced. They are very curious about some things and I'm sure we will be sharing information.
It's too bad that no one from the MTV PR office managed to respond to me. If I'd had a little of their party line, I could have incorporated that into my discussion. It's hard to know if MTV just make one bad decision after another or just thinks they are the only game in town.

Could you give us a wiff of what ideas were shared?

No, at this point the things discussed were off-the-record. If I told you, then Bunim-Murray would also know :)

True and it wouldn't be nice to claim your ideas as their own if they came across this..Well ****, if they're reading this then why don't they give you a listen?? Im frustrated :shout:
Agreed Ms. D. V is a genius and probably has many solutions to the slump our poor Real World is in.
I say we bust into their conference meetings and demand to be heard! Seriously, there will only be a handful of seasons to go and it would be a sad sad way to end the show with "Man the last season sucked balls, they should have listened" And i'm sure BMP would be saying the same thing lol

"Only be a hand full of season to go...?" Where does this stuff come from?

You may have the wrong idea. The discussion was about the way the company shoots the show, things their reporters in the field will need to know, like looking for the MTV disclaimer posted outside where the cast would be partying.. like a bar in Georgetown, or other location. What are some of the standard production techniques seen from season to season. Other things that their business/real estate reporters can look for like leasing for @20 weeks and the amount of square footage required for the cast and Production. The travel techniques they have used from season to season -- that don't include Metro.
I'm sure the cast (and crew) will be at seen on the Mall and at the capitol on July 4th. It would be inconceivable for them to do a DC season without O'Bama's first July 4th as President. Jon Murray is a committed Democrat and O'Bama supporter.
Still no details of what I actually shared, just an outline.

MTV gave BMP a contract for 4 more seasons. That is a big vote of confidence for RW and the challenges. The last time they did a contract extension it was for only two seasons. In Jon Murray's interview with either USA today or WS Journal last year, he said he expects the RW to continue indefinitely.
Hey there!
So I've admittedly been a lurker on these boards the last few seasons of RW/Challenges, and I appreciate all the info/speculation! Being a lifelong DC area resident and having watched RW since Boston, I figured it was time to come out of hiding and put in my two cents regarding this upcoming season (about which I am very excited!)!
Just as background: I grew up my whole life in Montgomery County, MD (about a 15 minute drive to NW DC), lived and attended school at American University in DC, worked for the DC rock radio station for a few years (helping to run events at all the major bars/concert venues across the city), and currently work for my alma mater selling the university and the area to families from out of town. So you could argue that I know this city well!
That being said, I wanted to address some of the safety comments made in this thread (I do this daily at my job!). For those unfamiliar with the city's geography, DC is divided into quadrants - NW, NE, SW, SE. Most of our bad rap comes from SE DC, which does deserve much of the criticism. NE and SW can also be a bit shady, but there are some cool locations (Capitol Hill area, etc) that can be found there. However, most of what visitors (and I assume the RW cast) would be doing in the city would take place in the NW quadrant. That is where you find the National Mall, White House, monuments, museums, etc, along with the aforementioned areas - Dupont (very flavorful - strong GLBT population), Georgetown (talk about ritzy - complete with a waterfront!), Adams Morgan (very ethnic), H street (near the Verizon Center where the Caps and Wizards play), etc. NW is also home to Embassy Row, and many VERY nice homes. The city as a whole is very green and lacks the skyscrapers (intentionally) that give places like NYC that industrial feel. It's also a very drivable city, even though Metro is more common - but I always drive places, and never feel unsafe walking back to my car at night (and I'm a petite female!). So yes, there are bad areas of the city as a whole, and it IS still a city, not small-town America, but until people visit, they often get the wrong impression and we often get an undeserved bad rap.
Hope I didn't repeat anything V1Man or Dynasty (or anyone else from the area) already said about the area in another thread, but after reading some of the posts in this thread, I figured it would be useful for everyone to have the background on the area as a whole. I'm happy to provide more info or answer questions, especially once the actual house location is revealed. I'm not a "super sleuther" like some of you (so impressive!), but I'll do my best to be a resource!
Yay for DC!
Welcome to Vevmo.
I don't think you repeated anything that was said before or perhaps didn't need repeating, so thanks!.
I agree with you that driving in DC is not that bad. It's the parking I hate.
Haha, thanks for the welcome!!
Yes, parking is brutal, but since I don't drink, when I do go out in the city, I like having my car so I can leave when I desire. I figure the cost of parking is still less than the cost of beer (which is also brutal). Hope the cast budgets well for this city! :)

Wow, thanks for all the welcomes; I appreciate the fanfare for my graduation from lurker to poster!
This may be a bit of a tangent, but did you hear that the "Real Housewives of _______" franchise will also be filming in DC soon? Wonder what would happen should the two casts cross paths...

Of course! It's the first step to Vevmo [strike]addiction[/strike] love. :D
