The show has featured people with deadly illnesses before. Of course everyone always talks about Pedro, but people forget about Frankie from San Diego ('Real World' Alum Frankie Abernathy). I'm excited for this season. I bet it's going to be awesome.
Real World coming to D.C.? That will be VERY interesting to watch. ^_^ Born and raised here and I must say it is quite a city, sucks how I will be leaving for Pittsburgh right when they will be filming. hah. In all my years of watching RW I never thought they would get around to coming here, but now that I know they will I must say it was a very good choice. I could easily see them getting set up in a swanky Georgetown townhouse or brownstone, or maybe even a huge loft in a trendy area downtown, like Gallery Place. Ultimately, there is tons of areas I could see them in Dupont Circle, Adams Morgan, Friendship Heights and tons other areas.

Your welcome and thanks! :)
I think it's going to be interesting to see what happens if anyone breaks the law/does something to get arrested (as we've seen on some of the previous seasons). DC doesn't mess around with things like security, and the smallest little slip up in DC can lead to big problems because of the paranoia concerning national security.
Oh, trust that there are ways to still get caught in mischief..
Oh, trust that there are ways to still get caught in mischief..
DC has one of the worst prosecution rates in the country. They can do a thousand things here that no one will care about.

LOOLL]]
Does anyone know if casting for the D.C season has ended? o_O
YES!!! I am a Marylander, and always wanted them to do one here, but I doubt they would ever do a RW Baltimore.

Where did you get that?
Where did you get that?
Oh I got bored and made it myself. I love the transitions the show uses right before a commercial break...you know, an artsy angle with the RW logo in the corner somewhere.
Its really nice.
Thanks. I think I was a marketer/advertiser in a previous life. I would love to do something like that one day.
Did they come to NYC for casting on season 23 yet? o.0
I'm pretty sure they did. But I'm also curious.
Final Rounds for DC finish up today. FYI.
So the finalist have already been flown out to California to be interviewed?
So the finalist have already been flown out to California to be interviewed?
Yes -- that was last week. The cast will be selected most likely within the next 3 to 4 weeks -- and they will begin filming at the end of June through end of November.
This season better be good! I'm kinda surprised that I didn't see the internet casting taking place this season was done very discretely opposed to the last 2 (Hollywood and brooklyn)

And brooklyn didn't have one, just Hollywood and Cancun.
I don't think there was one?? And brooklyn didn't have one, just Hollywood and Cancun.
you're right... there wasn't! I just remember seeing things like this: so that's why I always for some reason assumed that Chet or Katelynn was the internet winner

They should have done this season at the time they did Brooklyn, with the whole Obama thing. It will still be interesting though!
This might be slightly off-topic, but I'm glad to see them go to a different location. I wasn't happy when I saw Brooklyn knowing there was already New York and Back to New York. Being a midwesterner I always hoped we would have a RW: St. Louis. Maybe some day :)
Yeah I agree going to Brooklyn was very random. I think this season will be very good.
I'm glad that after so long, they are going to DC. Does anyone think they'll do a Real World:Houston, Real World:Baltimore or Real World:Cleveland?

I am actually liking D.C. as a location.
I sure hope not.
Baltimore?? :nea:..The place has more ghettos than anything else!! I think its even more dangerous than DC
