I'm not excusing JD's behavior in anyway (he's shady as hell), but Charlie's view did make sense to me.
Fine, but you didn't answer my questions...
I think the reason he works with dolphins is because he has NO IDEA how to get along with humans.

Hee! You may be on to something!
Fine, but you didn't answer my questions...
I've said all I want to say on the matter. Sometimes you should take things at face value. I can't elucidate everything I put out there on a message board.
As I stated a few pages back, the members this season that have joined and posted are: Sarah, Scott, Katelynn, Baya and Devyn. I've reached out to the others, but have either not received a reply or was offered an indifferent one.
Sooooooooooo who gave you the indifference? Do tell! :wink2:

That's fine, but then I reserve the right to place your reply into the "non-substantive" category regarding how we are top measure his progress this season, if we are to do so at all. :) The question is probably better put to the cast themselves. At the December Paley Center seminar, Scott specifically mentioned how much people grew during the season.

Realitywedding, V1man has been very nice about things, so there's no need to be rude. You should be a little nicer when answering or responding to V1 man, he's helped out alot. Not trying to argue or anything just saying.

I wasn't trying to argue either. I just made a comment and felt it was being dissected. I hadn't said anything that deep to be dissected like that. I was simply agreeing with a point someone else made. Just saying.
Let me move on like Bacchus said.
JD like He Who Shall Not Be Named is getting plenty of hate just because he is the most real person in the house. The man doesn't play any games and let's everyone know what is on his mind as he should. Also I don't feel that he betrayed Kate's trust whatsoever in revealing her secret in fact I believe that she was betraying everybody's trust by not coming out. I also feel very disgusted by her behavior a few episodes back when she making out with that guy she met at the bar. If the guy knew she was post up then I would be okay with it but he didn't know and he deserved the right to know that he was kissing someone who used to be a man.

Ripper, you are a little presumptuous. You don't speak for me when you say he is being "hated" for being the most real person in the house. I don't see him that way at all. I neither like or dislike him; I simply comment upon the edited appearance of his behavior on TRW.
If you have some special knowledge of him, please share it with the rest of us.

Personally, I don't think she was betraying their trust at all. Being gay myself, I don't tell someone when I first meet them. It takes time to get comfortable to share something so personal. This is something she had just done and these are people she just met, I completely understand her waiting to tell some of the people. Especially with someone like Ryan, someone who is not used to something like that at all. The fear of rejection or hurtful words is scary.
I don't think JD had any right to tell anyone her secret. It is her story to tell, and I believe Kate said that he got mad for people outing him, cause it was his story... this was hers.

It sounds like you have the personal depth of understanding to intelligently comment on this subject and I fully agree with your conclusions.

Wow, so what's it like to live in that myopic little world of yours? You speak with the wisdom and compassion of someone woefully insecure in their heterosexuality. I'm curious though, your phrasing of "used to be a man", does that mean you now consider me to be a woman? Or are you still stuck on the "you're a man, period" mentality? It'd be nice to know how your thought processes work so I can effectively combat your ignorance.
No, I do not need to walk around with a badge on my shoulder that says "I'm Katelynn the Transsexual" any more than someone with terminal cancer needs to walk around with "I'm Jane Doe with Lukemia". "I'm Sarah Beth with Diabetes, I just thought you should know up front so you can judge me based upon superficial medical reasons and not for my intelligence or personality".
Tell me, where does this self-important "I have a right to know" mentality come from?

I'm not an intolerant person I don't have a problem with you people or the gays but I just felt a little peeved by the unwarranted hate directed towards JD. I used the term "used to be a man" because I didn't want to offend anyone because I know how sensitive you people can be. Once again I stress that it was wrong for you to rape that guy of his heterosexuality by not letting him know beforehand because let's face it any true heterosexual male would have issue with making out with a transgender individual such as yourself. I don't propose that you tell every Tom, **** and Harry but I believe that a secret such as yours should have been divulged to people who you are going to be living in close quarters with such as your roommates and individuals which you are going to have romantic relationships with such as the aforementioned individual.

By your use of the words in bold above, it seems to me that you thoroughly expose your prejudice. Honestly, I'm not sure which one is more offensive, "you people" or "the gays." While I'm not at all sure that I agree with Katelynn's approach to revealing herself to others, I can't walk in her shoes. Commentary is fair, but bigotry is ugly, and I see nothing in what you wrote but bigotry.

"Raped the guy of his heterosexuality"? Please, she shouldn't have to tell him she is trans if he doesn't ask. Obviously she did a very good job of passing. Plus, in our society today stereotypical male heterosexuality is hooking up with as many women as possible. Kate is a woman, he met his goal.
The way I see it, if you are going to make out with some random person without getting to know them, you should deal with the consequences.

I find so much wrong with this "statement". Those parts are bolded. Two more questions for you:
1. Are you speaking for every heterosexual man on the planet?
2. Since when is making out with a guy in a bar considered a "romantic relationship"?
I suggest you stop speaking before Katelynn responds and rapes you a new ****ole. Hold on to that heterosexuality of yours!

Are you sure you're not an intolerant person? While I actually do think that the honest thing for a transgender person to do is to disclose their transgender status to any person they intend to have a relationship with, your choice is words it's simply rude to say the least. If this is the way you choose to express your ideas when you're not trying to offend anyone, I don't wanna know what words do you use when you're in fact trying to be offensive.
* highlighted phrase is laughable to call it something
PD When did Kate make out with a guy?
CTFU... Devyn layed the smackdown on JD :laugh1: I loved every minute of it.
I disagree - just because someone talks obnoxiously louder than the other person does NOT mean she won the argument...which by the way was a discussion she chose to butt into so that shows something right there.
Philly? How did you stay awake?
ack! Philly was not that bad V1 - it wasn't the best season by any means but it wasn't the worst. Key West or London deserves that title.

ok that is wrong on sooooo many levels. just wondering ripper - do you have the same religious background as Chet or are you the typical moronic frat boy?? I'm dying to know where this ignorance comes from.
Never watched a full season. Saw a good deal of Philly and that is about it. I thought Philly was 50 times better than this season.
I can understand that you liked Philly alot more than this season. Probably just because it had tons of more crazy drama than brooklyn. I have to admit I love the crazy drama as well but I think its better to see a show that can entertain people greatly while teaching lessons to the viewers about different views,race,religion,etc... and Brooklyn is an example of that.
ok that is wrong on sooooo many levels. just wondering ripper - do you have the same religious background as Chet or are you the typical moronic frat boy?? I'm dying to know where this ignorance comes from.
I think that religion honestly has nothing to do with it. Chet is amazingly understanding and supportive in spite of a religion that is rather infamous for intolerance toward the LGBT population. I disagree with ripper speaking for every heterosexual male as my very heterosexual boyfriend has had no problems with our intimate relationship, pre or post-operative.
It is this exact type of mentality I struggle so hard to educate.
As I stated in episode 3, each person you come out to has to be done with sensitivity based upon your relationship with that person. In the housing situation we had I first had to develop those relationships and choose to come out in a fashion that was appropriate. The first people I chose to tell, of my own volition, were Sarah and Baya. With JD, again, there was an unspoken air of "I already know" so with him going to great lengths of getting the car and setting up dinner and then coming out to me first, I couldn't help but feel obligated to share my story as well. It's not a bad thing, just not how I would have preferred to come out.
What's done is done though. I can only hope that in the future other trans men and women will get a chance to tell their story untainted and candidly. And by a method of their own design.

It very much did. There are clips on the mid-season spoiler (I've gotten a chance to see and just like camping, it's in-tents) which deal with the election. I'm not going to reveal anything though, you'll just have to wait and see =)
