Speaking of crazy endurance challenges that girls are good at, does anyone remember that challenge on BOTS (maybe it was BOTS II?) where they had to sit on ice, and it was 3 girls who went on forever?
I remember that one! Didn't one of the smaller girls need medical attention? That was a good one.
You are not blessed the the essential Y chromosome that would permit your understanding. It's just science, not sexism
QFT, V1. I try to explain this to the wife all the time.
You tell me how many times it is appropriate for Johnny to hit on Tonya, and how many times must she say to him, "Johnny, I'm married" before we all say 'Enough!" I'm tired of the apologies and excuses for him. It's time for a little truth, and the truth should shame us all.
Inappropriate - yes. But not as gross as this. In regards to last weeks episode - so glad we got the short version of TJ's quitter speech. I implore all fans of the Challenge to read TVGasm's recap of last weeks episode. So many priceless lines and screencaps, very funny TVgasm Archives
What is the truth than? We know Dave was tryin to get back to his little Legally Blonde princess, but what's Abe's deal? I haven't been reading the spoilers thread...
We know this to be a fact? I'm not sure I do. I'm more inclined to believe what I was told before the first episode aired: that Dave quit because he could not handle Dan and that he further found himself without a friend even among the other outcasts. I'm more inclined to believe it now that his departure has been shown and the cast is able to be more forthcoming about what happened. Dave was not liked; the cast was happy to see him go; and his comments about the challenge itself insulted the cast and the producers. There is an understood process that is followed when a cast member decides it is time to leave. You engineer the next elimination so that you lose and go home. It is the only way, other than medical disqualification, that will ensure you get paid.

In another scene where Fairplay continues his "unwanted attention" Tonya climbs out the window to escape him (actually, they shot the scene five times, it was so "spontaneous"). From outside the house, you could see the on of the camera crews and the mattresses that had been placed under the window Tonya which was to "escape" through.

I think I'd be pretty ****** if it was in the "script" that I had to wrap my hand around someone's *****. Johnny Fairplay is gross.
In regards to last weeks episode - so glad we got the short version of TJ's quitter speech.
I thought that speech was to someone else, unless by short, you mean shorter than the dailies. Or maybe I'm just missing something (most likely).
As for the face off last week, I'm sure there are some women in the WWE that could hold their own. But the women on the Challenge, outside of MAYBE Ev, no way. There is no indication that the challenges aren't determined after the three are chosen for this round, but what about previous shows. I remember the original Gauntlet it was all up to chance and had women and men battling each other. But then again, those gauntlets where actually a lot more unisex, heck, even the challenges were a lot more unisex than what I've seen the past two years or so. It will be interesting to see what face offs are still to come. As for the boats, I have a vague idea but it's still very hard to to cement it in my head this early into the game. Still a matter of wait and see, but I'm wondering if Ev and KA play into each other or one of the other getting a key later on, just from previews and what I've seen.

I've mentioned to BMP's PR person that we would like to interview Justin Booth, executive producer. Our request has not yet been answered.
I won't hold my breath for a response. It would be nice to have an idea as to how they plan the Challenges now, but I can make do with rewatching older Challenges and the more even-keeled stunts the groups had to do. Now that I think of it, a lot of the older ones were almost more in favor of the women... And now I just remembered Julie's "The path to G-d is straight and narrow" moment.
I could have lived without ever seeing that.
I couldn't agree more!
This season is currently On Demand for Comcast Customers.
This season is currently On Demand for Comcast Customers.
I can't find it.
I can't find it.
I was going to make a really snarky comment about how Comcast On Demand has a Search feature, but after using that, I couldn't find it either. I had to do some leg work... TV Networks -> MTV -> Vintage MTV
Here is one of my friends after watching The Island for a second time...
The Island on demand? Well who the **** demanded it?
As much as people hate on The Island, Ev's speech is still one of the best challenge moments. Everything about that episode was perfect....the way they edited it to make it seem like she was going to betray her alliance, Derrick's facial expression, everything.
I actually liked The Island..
The Island is probably The Challenge I would point to where politics became really big on the show.
The Island on demand? Well who the **** demanded it?
I agree but then again I'm in it for completence.
This season is currently On Demand for Comcast Customers.
I certainly didn't demand it!!
The Island on demand? Well who the **** demanded it?
I'm with you. Don't know why anyone would want to watch that Horrid challenge. But hey apparently it's there so...people can have at it I suppose.
I don't believe there's ever been a bad season of the Challenge. Of the 17 seasons that I've seen, this was my least favorite, but I definitely plan on watching it again.
If they did do another season of The Island then they would need to do some serious changes to the format, it was way too boring, the face-offs sucked and the voting off style was dumb. They should just do it like Survivor and I think it could be good.
For me, the only way I'll rewatch this challenge is if the series overalls gets canned. Then I'll go back from season 1 and reminisce of tea and crumpets.
