List your top 3 personal Challenge outcomes that most satisfied you as well as the 3 most dissapointing. This isn't a list of your favorite/least favorite Challenges, per say, but rather who ended up winning at the end. It's not about the actual Challenges themselves but how satisfying/dissapointing the results were for you personally.
Most Satisfying:
3. The Duel- Wes: The Duel was my first Challenge I ever watched starting around halfway through the season. I had no idea who any of the people were or their stories up to this point. After witnessing Wes beat Derrick in a brutal battle of Duel Pole Dancing and then crying to his girlfriend Johanna over the phone (who I had no idea who she was) I decided I was rooting for him. Watching him manipulate Evan into facing CT near the end of the game was brillant, and he ended up winning. This Challenge would probably rank higher for me if Svetlana had won for the girls; I wasn't a big fan of Jodi's.
2. Rivals 2- CT & Wes: This was not a very good challenge but in the end the result was worth it. CT finally getting his first win was extremely satisfying after all of the Challenges he had participated in, not to mention he had been one of the best competitors ever to be on the show and had countless accolades and daily Challenge wins under his belt. The icing on the cake was that they beat out Johnny and Frank, two of my most hated Challenge competitors. On the female side of things this show shouldn't have even had a female competition. It was clear just from reading the initial cast that Paula and Emily were going to dominate and win. It was boring and a pain to watch. I don't mind Emily and she deserved her first win, but I'm not on the Emily bandwagon like most other fans are. Watching Paula get handed another win with another dominant partner was also dissapointing. I wanted Cooke and Cara to win.
1. Fresh Meat 2- Landon & Carley: Fresh Meat 2 was a decent Challenge but certainly nothing special. I watched Cutthroat before I watched this one, and somewhere along the way I was under the impression that I heard that Kenny and Laurel had won this Challenge. During watching it and seeing them dominate the entire show, I was thinking the whole time that they won it. Landon, being my all time favorite Challenge competitor, winning this alone was extremely shocking for me and satisfying. On top of that, the way in which he ended up winning it was nothing short of amazing. Being dealt the last pick for the guys at the opening draft selection he was left with the worst statistical girl Carley (who was not the worst girl in the end but in the draft was ranked worst). He teamed up with Wes and ended up getting screwed over which seemed to spell out him going home. The midnight exile was the most epic elimination round I've ever witnessed because of how he motivated Carley throughout it and through impossible odds they pulled through it. Evelyn's meltdown on Luke adds to this elimination round's epicness for me. Then on to the Final he masterfully motivated Carley once again to somehow beat out Kenny who had the top girl Laurel. This was a suprise for me because the whole way I thought Kenny and Laurel were the winners. Overall, because it was Landon who won, with an out of shape partner, with master motivation skills, and because it was a shock to me this was the most satisfying win in Challenge history for me.
Most Dissapointing:
3. The Duel 2: This one started out bad because one of the top competitors CT was eliminated on the first day due to the infamous fight with Adamn King, already making the show and competition less interesting (Not to mention we got MJ in his place, which don't even get me started on MJ). The entire show was dominated by Landon and I was loving it the enitre way. Fast forward to late in the game on the Final Duel selection, and the guys agree they are gonna each write down the name of who they want in the Duel and throw it in a hat; most votes goes in. Right before the vote Landon goes to get the hat, and Evan, the sneaky ******* that he is, coherses Brad and Mark to all vote Landon. This was done because Landon was the most dominant athlete and he was the most feared in a Final. This was a brillant strategic move by Evan but dissapointing for me and pissed me off. On to the Duel it's Landon vs. Brad. The game is tied up and it's match point. Brad pulls the most brillant elimination play in Challenge history and tosses Landon's ring giving him just enough time to clip his ring and win. My favorite player in the game got DPed (excuse the language), first politically and then on a god send in the elimination round, leading to his only loss in his career. I was devastated. Then on to the Final. Evan ends up beating out Brad by seconds which was dissapointing, because for the second time on BOTH Duels, Brad lost by seconds. Evan winning was also dissapointing for me. On the girl's side I didn't mind Rachael winning, but I'm not a Rachael mega fan like most fans. I just wouldv'e appreciated more competition for her in the Final to make it a bit more earned. She pretty much just effortlessly skated to the finish.
2. The Gauntlet 3: This Challenge is weird in that the team that I wanted to win won, but the result was extremely dissatisfying. The entire Challenge was dominated by the Veterans as the poor Rookie team was decimated player by player along the way, and I couldn't help but feel for them. They tried so hard in every Challenge, only to be beaten over and over. Jillian is my all time favorite female Challenge competitor, and I also adore Frank, and watching them battle in the Gauntlet all season was satisfying. So the team I wanted to win won, and two of my favorites won after winning elimination after elimination, yet it's still dissapointing because of the way in which they won. Big Easy collapses for the Vets during the Final giving the Rookies a significant lead because the entire Veteran team had to stop and have him carted out. Despite this huge disadvantage the Vets manage to not only catch up to the Rookies but end up beating them to the finish line. They all begin to celebrate as TJ announces that because Easy didn't finish the Rookies win. Easy single handedly lost an entire Challenge. This win was completely undeserved, because the Veterans not only dominated all season but also still beat out the Rookies despite waiting for Easy to be carted off and lost on a technicality. This made the entire season pretty much pointless and a fluke. In the name of sportsmanship alone this outcome was extremely dissapointing.
1. Battle of the Exes- Johnny & Camilla: Anytime Johnny wins a Challenge is disspointing for me (except for Free Agents because he went into 3 eliminations and won a tough race against Johnny R., his most earned victory) but this one was the single most dissapointing time that he won. The whole Challenge I was cheering for CT and Diem. Watching CT beasting through the Final was so epic and I couldn't wait for it to culminate in him getting his first much deserved win, with Diem right along side him in the perfect victory. This was all immediately crashed at the very end when Johnny and Camilla nearly beat them out shattering all the good vibes and the experience. I felt robbed by the biggest ****** and I nearly cried.
What are your top satisfying/dissapointing Challenge victories? I am interested in seeing other fan's opinions on the matter. I don't expect everyone to detail out as much as I did, and write entire paragraphs, (I just love to write XD) but just share some of your opinions and thoughts. Thanks!
Disappointing:
1. Battle of the Exes/The Ruins/The Island/Free Agents - Johnny's wins: It was just terrible to watch Bananas and Camila win. While I like Camila a whole lot, Bananas is practically handed wins half the time with great partners or on a team with his friends. On the Island, I was upset when Abram decided he had to go home, which would have been Johnny if Abram stayed. It was practically handed to him, but not intentional on Abram's part. The Ruins was terrible because Evan, Bananas and Kenny were there, and their sheep, Derrick, too. We all know saw it coming anyway. Honestly, Johnny R. would have been a whole lot better when it comes to Free Agents. Rivals might have been the only season he deserved, though I welcome anyone to disagree with me.
2. Battle of the Seasons: I have mixed feelings about this format. I think they picked shitty people for some of the teams. To be exact, New Orleans was terrible; I would have preferred Ryan L. over Preston or Knight anyday, and would have preferred Sahar over Jemmye. I could probably go on about it, but the final outcome of it was ******. San Diego had more heart in three out of four of their members, but it was just terrible to see Frank win in general. I'm not a huge Zach fan, but I don't mind him. I would have preferred any other team in that finale to win, so watching that team of bullies make it to the end and win was gut wrenching.
Cutthroat: Format was amazing, but I absolutely despise Brad, Tori, and Dunbar. The three of them did nothing, Tori especially as she cries for the second/third time about whether she should go home or try in an elimination. All in all, that entire team did not deserve their win after what they did to Camila and Brandon.
Satisfying:
Outcome of Rivals II - I was ever so thankful that Wes and CT beat out Frank and Johnny. Frank is the most annoying person ever with his self important attitude. It would have been terrible to watch him win, only to have his ego grow past this world and the next over. Johnny even said he didn't try though, so it's whatever with him there.
Pretty much all of this. The Duel 2 also should've had Landon/Mark win for the men...ANYBODY but Evan smh. They just handed Paula the win on both Rivals also & it was wack (I do like Emily though).
As for most satisfying...definitely Gauntlet 3 as horrible of a challenge as that was. The remaining Veterans didn't deserve a penny...matter of fact they should've gotten random fines to add insult to injury lmao! It was great to see Rachel win Duel 2 & Tonya/Derrick/Janelle win Inferno 3, even if it meant Kenny/Evelyn won.
That stunt Brad pulled on Duel 2 was absolute BULLSHIT. That was Landon's challenge to win & how they let that one count is pathetic.
Actually on Rivals, it was stated in podcast interviews by Kenny, that Kenny and Wes had a 40 minute lead on Johnny and Tyler after the first day. Come the second day the 40 minute lead meant absolutely nothing, as Kenny and Wes only got a few minute head start, and Kenny said he felt they were robbed. The first day of the Rivals Final was pretty much just them going through hell for pure entertainment, it meant nothing.
Omg all of this!!! Awwww Graffiti!!! You speak my soul!!!!!
And ChampFiend I wish I could like your post! I love how detailed it is!!!
Who is that in the thread picture?!
Excellent thread. I'll post something meaningful tomorrow.
This should probably go in the unpopular opinions thread but I absolutely can't stand Wes so him & CT winning Rivals II was horrific to me.
I was 100% rooting for Jordan/Marlon in the final, and then Frank & Johnny and I don't like Johnny that much either, but Wes has always annoyed me and I felt he didn't deserve to be partnered with CT, it should've been CT & Bananas on the same team especially after Rivals 1.
In fact I hate most Challenge wins. I typically root for the underdogs/people that will never win so the end is usually disappointing. Also what's different from most reality competition shows is that I don't think there's a winners edit. Usually they try to potray the winner as likable as possible (even if they're the villain) so people won't be disappointed with the ending, but as I look at the list of winners a good portion of them were extremely cocky and mean-spirited.
But probably my least favorite wins are: Red team (cutthroat) because they were just horrible, CT & Wes (Rivals II) , Johnny & Camilla (Exes) because it was so predictable.
Lmao I ***** love your posts.
That's me, the starter of the thread. My name is Chris
I didn't know whato put for the thread image and it wouldn't let me post without it so I decided to put a pic of myself.
******** OMG. You kill me LWP
Satisfying:
3. Gauntlet 3
The vet team was so strong. They pretty much swept every competition they wanted to. That replay at the end really got me though, Johnny telling his team they should really get rid of Eric, but no one did. Frank really won me over with his sarcastic humor every episode and he was the leader of his very broken team. It seemed fitting. The course of The challenge would have been so much different if the Vets won. That would've been Brad, CT, and Paula's first W. It's not that I hated the indivduals on the Vet team (maybe Robin and Eric), but the season was decided from Day 1. [see the Ruins]
2. Inferno III
This challenge was very cool because it worked out that even though it was a team challenge, both teams ended up with 6 people each, 3 guys and 3 girls. I really wanted the bad ***** to win because I'm a fan of the 3 guys Abe, Derrick, and Kenny. It was a relativily close final and was fun throughout.
1. Rivals II
Was always a big fan of Wes. CT was cool too just because he's so beast. Didn't really like Frank either. Pretty exciting final...was pretty tight until the food eating part. Was kinda rooting for Cooke/Cara, but was overall happy with the Gray team's win. Man hope Cooke comes back shes so pretty.
Disappointing:
3. Battle of the Seasons 2
This whole season was pretty bleh to me. Was rooting for Vegas pretty hard. Def didn't want SD to win, and it's sort of laughable when a team including Devyn and JD makes it to the final. I actually don't think Chet is that bad of a competitor. Zach and Frank were pretty unbareable all season.
2. Gauntlet 2
Haha this final was a joke. Really wanted the Rooks to win because David was such a ***** all season. Actually he was always a *****. Derrick was gone so there was no one to cheer for. Glad Adam left on day 1 too. Final was so anticlimatic. Eating contest then nothing. Didn't even get to see Alton/MJ/Landon smoke Aneese in a foot race.
1. Cutthroat
Man I'm a huge fan of Abe. He dominted all season long....then he just dies on the road. Very very very disappointing.
This many posts with no mention of Fresh Meat 2?
That has to be the most satisying final ever for me. To see Landon carry that last pick of his up the mountain and take out both Kenny and Laurel. I don't think that will ever be topped for me.
Agree with Duel 2 for disapointing. If they don't let Brad's move fly, I think Landon beats Evan pretty handily.
Seasons 2 for most disappointing. They were vile villains and Ashley was the only likable person on that entire team.
Satisfying:
1. The Duel
2. Inferno 2
3. Rivals 2
Disappointing
1. Exes
2. Rivals
3. The Ruins.
It's still one of my favorite seasons, but had Brooklyn won, I think a lot of people would have enjoyed it more.
I put Fresh Meat 2 as my most satisfying win in the first post of the thread.
Okay Here's Mine.
Most Satisfying Wins.
Fresh Meat 2-This season was as mediocre as they come but the only Bright spot of this season was seeing Landon Carry Carley all the way to the finish line. And the thing about it is he did it so calmly and cool. Most people would've just got fustrated and yelled and cussed. But not Landon he kept his composure and got himself and Carly all the way to the end. This solidified Landon as one of the greatest competitors to ever grace the challenges.
The Gauntlet 2-I was rooting for the Rookies all season so for them to win it all at the end after going back and forth with the Veterans was just pure perfection. It really added to what was already a good season.
Battle of the Sexes 2-It was pretty much a given that the men would win this challenge considering they dominated the season but what made it great to me was seeing one of my favorite castmembers(Dan) there at the end and win it all. Plus I am a guy(who loves men) so it was great seeing my gender kick ***.
Most Dissapointing Wins
Battle of the Seasons 2-I know alot of people hated Frank and Zach but I didn't mind them on this challenge. However I was never really rooting for them and I felt like they were given way too much power early on so it really sucked that they won. I wanted Vegas or Brooklyn to take it home.
The Duel 2-I HATED Evan so it really pissed me off that he won. I was fine with Rachel but Evan? Hell no. I really wish Britnni would've made him lose.
Free Agents-Seeing that Oversued ******* Backpack win for the FIFTH time really made me contemplating giving up on these shows. I also hated Laurel winning too because honestly it was pretty obvious from the start, Add in the fact that she's a Non-Castmember and completly Unlikable and you got valid reasons why I hated her winning. It was a bad ending to a good season.
Incredible Wins:
The Gauntlet -I was happy to see Sarah G win after all those gauntlets!
Fresh Meat 2 - Never in a million years did I think Carley would win!
Battle of the Exes - I love Camila. She was definetly an underrated cast member.
Dissapointing Wins:
The Ruins - JEK are *****.
Cutthroat -- HATED Tori & Brad!
Battle of the Seasons - haed Zach and Frank that season ugh.
Rivals 2 - Paula was so lucky to get emily it was so predictable. But C.T. winning was pretty awesome.
Free Agents - hated Laurel that season and Bananas has won enough, I wish it was CT or Johnny R.
Most disappointing:
Both of Wes's wins:
I find it funny how on this site Bananas' wins are picked apart when Wes' are even worse. Wes in no way, shape, or form deserved to win the Duel. Granted, he had a nice elimination win vs Derrick, and his move of tricking Evan was probably his only really good political move ever. But throughout that challenge he was pretty severely outformed by both CT and Evan and he only won the final because he had a head start; Brad finished the course a minute and a half faster. And I won't even touch the steriod stuff. There are also complaints that Johnny's had such amazing partners when both seasons of Rivals, Wes's have been better (Kenny > Tyler, CT > Frank). Rivals 2 final CT did all the work and Wes just had to keep up. CT deserved the win that season and that wasn't disappointing but his partner didn't.
Most satisfying:
Anytime JEK has won. Just because it makes almost everyone else angry.
I love Wes but CT should have won the duel instead but the stupid rule ruined it for him.
q
I put Fresh Meat 2 as my most satisfying win in the first post of the thread.
oh. Derp
*insert like*
Harbitten you said what i was legit thinking. I just hated Cutthroat's finale. I loved the season and how the last place people were the team captains. I felt that was an interesting tweak.
I liked the people they chose for BOTSeasons 2. Don't hate, lol. Ryan Leslie would've been boring but Sahar I would like to see in McKenzie's place. Where is she? I wanted her to compete in more challenges. And yeah Zach is okay but aggravating and Frank is just a pissant.
Rivals 2 was my last favorite challenge I loved that shit to death and Liked who won but for the girls I can't stand Emily at all. Paula I was okay with because she's finished thankfully.
I pretty much agree with Johnny's wins. He's annoying.
Oh absolutely. I was praying for Team Brookyln to pull out a win. I love that shit. but there original season did have episodes where practically nothing happened.
Satisfying:
Fresh Meat 1
The Duel
The Duel 2
Rivals 2
Battle of the Sexes 2003
Battle of the Seasons 2002
Extreme Challenge
The Gauntlet
Gauntlet 2
The Inferno
The Inferno 2
Disappointing:
Battle of the Seasons 2
Battle of the Sexes 2
Rivals
Exes
The Island
Free Agents
Fresh Meat 2
Challenge 2000
Gauntlet 3
The Ruins
That sums it up for me so far.
Then by that same logic so would have Beth. Hands down the Caribeener was a legit stupid rule.
Beth should have beat Svetlana yes but she wouldn't have won the final IMO. Aneesa would have probably taken her out later
Lol nostalgic you don't like that Landon won fm2?
I'll gurantee you that they haven't bothered to ask Sahar to come on since RW: NOLA
I think it was possible that she would have came on with Eric onto the BOTExes 2, but I dunno about that completely.
He already won before so its not that its him more like Carley I cared for over him. Truth be told I like the guy but feel he's way to cheesy.
