After Fresh Meat, Diem allowed MTV cameras to follow her through her first battle with cancer. I believe the plan was to make it into a full documentary, but it never left the cutting room floor. There is a short trailer type video on youtube with clips from it. I wonder if MTV will use any of that sort of stuff or just stick to challenge related things.

Well, the press is out about the next challenge - and it's airing beginning Jan 6th. So they are promoting it - and saying its our chances to see Diem and Knight one last time.
Ugh. I was just reading that. What made me even more sad is that on the other couples they give both their twitter handles. On theirs it just says "Follow CT: @...."
Ugh Diem deserved this win. And she looks amazing in the cast photo. Haunting to know that the cancer was slowly building up on her, ready to strike. It's never not going to be absolutely devastating.
That cast bio was meh. Nothing new or exciting and Diem playing coy as usual lol. Like the Rivals 2 really destroyed their trust and they haven't sen each other since , okaaay Diem lol
I was so overcome with peace when I saw the pics of her. Loved seeing her happy. Pics are a little flirty and playful - as usual. Comments just confirmed my previous thoughts. Diem didnt go on to help CT win, it was vice versa. I think he knew she was sick and wanted to help her bring home some money. And, she knew he'd have her back. Any other partner, I really don't think she would have went on.

I do think he would have gone on anyway though, as he and Bananas are almost the franchise at this point (and I listed to a podcast JB did in July where he basically says as much about he and CT). So that's the reason why I had previously said that I thought she somewhat did it for him. Not because he forced her to do something she didn't want, but because they had this really strong mutual connection and admiration for each other - and that they actually wanted to go to together.
In another podcast mentioned in another thread - the grantland people were mentioning how Bananas knew before he was going in that they were going to try to pair him up with Nany and create a storyline. Jamie Larson from RWexP mentioned on a podcast last night that she knew they were trying to get Thomas/Haily a month ahead of time.
So it's obvious that CT and Diem both knew they would be paired, and I am sure they discussed it all before agreeing. The cancer money, their connection all played a part. I can't wait to see it on screen.
I can kind of see where you are coming from but, if CT knew that Diem had been diagnosed again, why didn't he leave with her initially? Everyone thought it was not cancer related but wouldn't he have known the truth? That's the only thing that makes me think maybe he didn't know. Also Diem said in an interview that she knew she had cancer beforehand and layer it was revealed that she found out in July. From that interview, I got the idea that Alicia did not know which makes me believe maybe she just wanted to keep it to herself until she got back.(Alicia did the interview)

It is very possible CT did not know. She did seem to hide stuff - age, boyfriends, cancer in the past, etc. So yes, I could have been looking at it wrong. He was with her when she did her random check up but I think the cancer was found after that,

Because they were super tight but sometimes he turned into an *** on past Challenges or didnt have her back. His loyalty to her was going to be put to the test. Challenges have never been a walk in the park for them except for the first one when they got together. Would have been amazing to see it play out. <3

I was able to rewatch The Duel, but cant seem to find any of the other seasons. MTV just says that the episodes are unavailable, no luck on youtube, and can only find The Duel on Daily Motion.. can you pm me link to where you are watching them? Thanks in advance

The way I see it a 30-minute special is better than nothing.
I guess 30 mins would be better than nothing if I did not expect them to re-air footage that we have already seen.
I was really hoping for cast/crew commentary but 30 mins might not allow for that....ugh
