And I was just wondering if anyone here knows anybody who is a long term survivor of Stage 4 ovarian cancer? or any advanced cancer? I have been so worried about her. YES! Friend of friend 19 years and counting. Her cancer will never be cured or in remission, just stable, but she lives every day. She does well and when something looks funny, they tinker w/her meds or find a new one.
The article was a tough one but an honest one. This situation is not going to be a walk in the park and is very very serious. Diem is insanely tough and has all the will in the world to want to beat this and she has a huge support system. Love that, Karisa. Our friend Diem is tough but is getting the challenge of her life this time out. As you can, please keep sending her your thoughts and prayers (Twitter and Instagram seem to work best for her). Although she may not be answering them, they continue to let her know that she is not alone, that she is loved and prayed for, and that she can do it. Keep in mind, too, that Ovarian cancer does exactly what is happening to Diem. Ovarian cancer's bag of tricks includes all that Diem is going through. Stay hopeful for her. She is surrounded by a fantatsitc team of cancer specialists and an incredible group of family and friends. She has the greatest network of cancer resources.
well that is good to know because Diem's situation seems so very grim. The pic that CT posted said "stronger everyday" , I hope this means that she is showing some improvement. I also wonder does anyone know or have an idea of if her Nephrotomy and Colostomy are permannent? And has anyone ever heard of this HIPEC procedure or know anyone who had it??? It just seems to me as if they are giving her surgery after surgery...it makes me sad.
Alicia is with Diem. CT is back in NYC. It looks like she unfortunately may have had another setback. Just wanted to pop in and check on everyone. Let's all keep praying for D and for her family and friends. <3
She has to do this. Everything happens for a reason. She needs to stay patient and trust her journey. God has a plan for her way bigger than this "cancer" thing. Like in Jeremiah 29:11- "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Well said. I am a woman of strong faith and I believe He can do anything. Hang in there Diem! As you know, a positive attitude can help the healing process so much! Still praying for you and yours!!!
This is so sad for me to read.... Diem has been one of my favorites in all of the challenges shes done.. even with rivals 2 when most people did not like her... God forbid something happens to diem, would they not air the next season? and dont take that the wrong way obviously the first priority is for diem to be better it is just a question
Alicia just posted a picture... it looks like Diem's whole family has flown in, as well as her close friends, her ex boyfriend, and Aneesa. I'm really sad and worried, but I guess all that's left to do is send as much positivity as we can and hope she finds some new and radical treatment.
Can doctors refuse treatment to someone who still wants it?
I wonder if this is why Johnny flew to NY. Hopefully a turnaround comes very soon.
I think there are rare instances when a hospital can say they won't treat someone. But I think that's typically when someone is really about to go and the things that will keep them alive are essentially futile/inhumane and the hospital's ethics committee weighs in on it.

Maybe that or challenge related, I was going to post in the other thread that Wes is also in NYC for "work" I dont think he would call visiting Diem work, so I'm guessing theres some challenge thing hapening. Maybe this means they'll air the challenge sooner, I hope so, god forbid something happens to Diem. It would be so hard to watch the show after that.
Someone said that CT is there (in NYC) The picture that Alicia posted looks like a meeting of the minds. I think they are discussing their next plan of attack; new treatments foe Diem. I pray that she can beat this. She wants to live....its so sad.

I don't think the doctor's have "given up" but they may be out of viable options to treat her. They can't provide treatment is none exist. Sadly, after reading a few things, we may be at a point of "the best we can do is make you as comfortable as possible".
DIem's a fighter and I have no doubt that she'll fight to the end. If only we were all that brave. I've never been a fan of her's on the show but I am a fan of her in life.

The "fact" that the doctors are seemingly giving up is soooo sad....Pray for you, D!
While the doctors might have given up, god has not. It's not over till he says it's over. So all we can do at this point is pray.
