That's not what he said at all. Those on 50 will know if they are deep in the running by the time this fills. Dee, Kaleb, Venus, and Q are the only ones I think that fit for both shows.

The issue isn't internationals, it's which internationals they pick. If they pulled from BBCAN, Traitors UK, Survivor Australia, or some of the internationals from Love Island Games fans would actually be somewhat excited about the international rookies. The issue is they cast international rookies from shows no one watched that are either total bores and/or don't speak any English.
You realize a random merge boot like Sydney from survivor has basically the same amount of fans as someone from another country right?

The primary objective of the casting department for Reality TV is to cast engaging personalities that the existing audience will like.
The secondary but equally important objective should be to cast players that will keep the game engaging and dynamic.
Sydney is a perfect example of both of those. She gets into drama, she's athletic, and she understands the strategic game.
I want Kelz back. Esther can come back too. Priscilla as well. But if you put just those three and a bunch of other international randos, they're getting picked off.
Putting a decent Survivor and Big Brother and Love Island contingent that all understand the gameplay and also SPEAK ENGLISH should be the priority.
You don't cast people hoping they bring their instagram followers to watch the show. You cast fun players so that the show's worth watching.

Sydney didn't have any "big moments". Her tribe never lost immunity and then she got Probst screwed out of the game. It's about her atheticism, her personality, and her potential.
