It seemed like Russell was acting like a person who gets punched good in a mma fight. They are frazzled and looking to hold on so they can regain their position. To weather the storm. Him wearing the immunity necklace showed great fear and a lack of confidence in himself. This is actually the second time this has happened as when they merged, he was also flustered this is why he wasted the idol.
I'm reading Dave Ball and Laura's elimination interview and wow they are bitter. Definitely didn't vote for Russell. Haha
Oh Laura's was awful. I haven't read Dave's yet.
EDIT: After reading Dave's, it screams "I voted for Russell" or "I voted for Natalie, you guys might just not see why".
Having seen the show on TV now, would you change your vote?
Dave Ball: No. I told myself when I got voted off that I was absolutely going to vote for the person who played the best game. I feel like I did that, but you have to understand there are several different types of game going on within "Survivor." There are games within challenges, there are strategic games at camp, and there are social games going on. There are several different levels of game play.
Uhh...have ya read the spoilers?
Uhm yeah so? Mick/Russ/Nat final 3. Russ= 0 votes. Mick vs. Nat for the win. Editwise it seems as though Mick has it. I really hope that missyae is right and Nat is the winner.
have y'all seen this?
'Survivor Talk': Dave calls Shambo 'deranged' and gets angry at Jenna Morasca and yours truly | EW.com
Apparently he was a ***** to Jenna Morasca who won the show
Yea if anyone in the final 3 gets 0 votes its Mick lol.
Dave in the EW interview basically says "Mick and Jaison are playing for third". And Jeff in his blog basically said Monica's threat will cost Russell the million. Natalie wins. I'm guessing Erik, Laura, Monica, Brett, Kelly vote Natalie.
missyae:
Someone asked was it Sham or Jaison next. It is Shambo followed by Jaison and then Brett. I think Daves interviews are interesting about Mick not playing to win. Would he perceive Natalie as playing to win? I wonder what Brett will have to say to the jury once he arrives there and will it make any difference? Also given that Mick will be in the final 3 and he and Jaison have seemingly been plotting together will Mick get his vote or will Jaison go with the player he said \"I am starting to love that guy?\" I still think it might be an interesting vote. I wonder if they could not vote for themselves who would Natalie - Russell - and Mick vote for? Betcha Russell would vote for Natalie and Natalie would vote for Russell.
I think Mick's got nothing. Based on their exit interviews, I think that John and Dave voted for Russell.
missyae has been spot on so far, so I don't have any reason not to believe what she is saying.
From an interview with Dave (from newsrunner.com):
Q: Tell me about Brett. Is he actively playing the game? If so, why do you believe the editors have tried to make viewers forget he exists?
A: He is the strongest physical player in the game and socially only a close second to Natalie. Dead even really.
So, Natalie apparently is a very strong social player. Could explain why she got some people's vote. A shame they didn't show too much of it though.
This has some S20 spoilage mixed in with it, so I'll put it in tags and you can read at your own risk.
I have been told that Russell should have learned from his mistakes on season 19 and applied them to season 20. However, just like in season 19, he was the in your face, aggressive player in 20 while he let the girl (Sandra) sit back and play the social game. This social game play appears to have delivered the jury votes to both girls (Natalie and Sandra)
I really have to be honest. You can not win Survivor without playing a good social game. So really the social game is more important.
You can not find a single winner who didnt play the best social game. Maybe you can make an argument about Todd and Vecepia but thats really about it. And its not like either V or Todd played bad social games, but i believe Neleh and Courtney played better ones those seasons and still lost.
Now dont get me wrong some people do play a good game socially and strategically and also win, but they did need a good social game. (Yul, Earl, Ethan are examples)
I mean if your going to not play a good social game its just suicide and your clearly not a good player. (Russell, and even Boston Rob, Steph, and some other "good players")

Mmm, I disagree. I think that the only reason that Sandra won Pearl Islands (and this was stated at the reunion) was because people didn't vote for Lil based on her game play. I also think that Todd played a great social game...at least he was honest about his lying, and he was playing the game from day 1 unlike Courtney and Amanda.
To be honest, I think the people who play the best social games are the ones that get voted out right in the end...the ones that are threats. For example with this jury, I would consider Brett a MUCH more stronger threat than anyone left. He would have hands down won against anyone simply because he was old Galu.
Kelly was the strongest social player in season 1, she bonded with all the young Pagong kids.
Clay was also the strongest social player, he bonded with Sook Jai, and though he sometimes rubbed some of the women in his own tribe the wrong way, he still got along with them
For the most part though, you are right, that of the final 2/3, the winner was the stronger social player. I'd agree with you on Vecepia being an exception, but not Todd -- it was said that Amanda was cliqueish and stuck to her friends.
Ethan seemed liked the ultiamte person that you didn't want to take with you to the end. That is why I was surprised that he was actually taken. I was actually surprised he only got 5 out of the possible 7 votes.

Haha, for that season I felt like Kim thought she was screwed no matter who she brought...Lex would have beaten her as well...so she took the person she thought was more deserving, which was Ethan.
Yeah! The only chance she had of getting any votes was of acting extremely weak and saying she was the weakest player of the season and that in the end she was able to beat the boys. (Not a very good argumnent)
I remember though when Colbie through away the second season that to me was the biggest disappointment as he dominated the whole season and she was shown as not even socially strong.
Found a pretty interesting article from Zap2It with Monica today:
Q:Speaking of Russell, do you think he's playing a good game?
I definitely think Russell is playing a good game. He went in and he shifted the numbers in Foa Foa's favor. We never saw that coming. We definitely underestimated Russell's game. Has he played a good game to win a million dollars? No. He's furthered his position in the game but I don't think that he really invested in the social game, in making sure he can get those jury votes. If he makes the Final Two, Three, whatever it is, I think he's going to have to make some strong points to sway the jury in his favor.
Q: You don't think he'd get votes rewarding his good game play, for playing all the Galu people?
No, I don't. He may get some votes, but I don't think he'll get a majority of the votes by just playing that card.
Q: Out of the people left, who is playing the best game?
There are two different aspects to it. The best game for getting to the finals? Definitely Russell. The best game for jury votes? I'd say a toss-up between Natalie and Brett. Looking at them, they're the only ones who have made some strong moves to ensure their positions and they're so likable. A combination of strong strategic moves mixed with the likability that they have.
This basically screams "I voted for Natalie" if you ask me.
Throw this in the mix...we already figured Laura had voted Nat, but this could mean Kelly did as well:
Reality TV World: You didn't seem to have a lot of influence over your alliance's decisions during the game, so did you really feel you would have that much sway over their jury votes or were you just bluffing?
Monica: No... At least two of the people are strong members of my alliance. So, I knew that I definitely had an impact when it came to the jury.
Reality TV World: Who are the two strong members you're talking about?
Monica: The people that were there at this point, it would have been Laura and Kelly.
Annnnnnnd then this one:
TVGuide.com: At this point in the game, who do you expect or hope to see make it to the finale?
Monica: I would love to see Brett take it all, I think Brett and Natalie are probably my strongest contenders.
From ET's interview:
Q: Knowing what you know now, would you change your vote?
Shambo: Nope. I never changed my vote during the game. I never jumped ship during the game. I was true to my own personal convictions for my own personal reasons. There is no way on God's green earth that I would change my vote.
Q: Did you vote for someone who played the game well, or someone you liked?
Shambo: I would never in a million years after being a lifelong survivor fan vote for someone I liked.
Sounds like she may have voted for Russell.
Despite survivrcuz, SurvivorsUnite, and Jeff Probst (to some extent) saying Russ gets no votes, TDT still has a 5-3-1 idea.
They have Brett, Monica, Dave, Laura, and Kelly for Natalie,
Jaison, John, and Erik for Mick,
Shambo for Russell.
What do you guys think?
